Chapter 919
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
âWhatâs wrong? You look troubled. Is it because of the child?â Rosalie asked.
âHow can I not worry?â Lillian smiled bitterly. âMy parents know about my pregnancy now. They want me to decide for myself. Callum said he was willing to marry me. After much consideration, marrying him is the best option I have. Not to mention the glory, at least my child will not be illegitimate. By then, everyone around me will feel jealous that I marry a rich husband, and no one will jeer at me.â
âBut you still canât make up your mind, right?â Rosalie noticed how worried Lillian was.
âShould I be with Callum again?â Lillian asked.
âDo you still love Callum?â Rosalie asked.
Lillian pursed her lips, thinking, âDo I still love him? I wouldnât be so troubled if I no longer love him.
Perhaps Iâll be able to abort this child without hesitation if thatâs the case.â
Although Lillian didnât answer, Rosalie was still able to guess the answer.
âI also know that Callum hurt you deeply back then, so I will support you in any choice you make. But I hope that you can ask yourself whether you will regret it in the future,â Rosalie said.
âHe asked me to give him a week, saying that he had important things to tell me. Itâs almost a week now, but he didnât come to see me, let alone tell me anything important,â Lillian said.
âHe didnât come to you, but you can go and ask him for an explanation. Didnât you like making things clear the most in the past?â Rosalie said.
âYeah, thatâs what I used to do!â Lillian smiled lightly, then picked up the glass of water in front of her and drank it all. âOkay. Iâll go find him later and ask him!â
Looking at the decisive demeanor of Lillian, Rosalie felt Lillian was returning to her former self.
After eating something, Lillian planned to meet with Callum. Rosalie asked, âShould I send you there?â
âNo. I drove here!â Lillian said.
âAre you still driving now?â
âI know what Iâm doing. When my stomach gets bigger, I wonât drive,â Lillian said, âIâm different from you. You were carrying triplets back then. I have only one child and donât need to take too many precautions. When I went to the hospital for an antenatal examination before, I saw about a woman who had a big belly riding an electric scooter!â
Hearing that, Rosalie was a little nonplussed.
After saying goodbye to Rosalie, Lillian drove toward Callumâs mansion in Strico.
When the last prenatal examination was conducted, she learned that he was in Strico and had been living in that mansion.
Of course, she knew the mansion very well. She even drove there countless times before.
Looking at the time, it was almost eight oâclock in the evening. She reckoned Callum should have returned to the mansion.
She wanted to meet Callum and tell him she was willing to take the risk. She wanted to marry him and be with him again.
She didnât know whether she would regret making such a decision in the future.
But she knew that if she didnât bet on it, she would regret it in the future!
It was the mansion ahead. Lillian parked her car aside. When she was about to get off, she suddenly saw another car passing by and parking at the door of the mansion.
The person who exited the car was none other than Madeline!
Lillianâs pupils suddenly shrank. She thought, âWhy is Madeline here at this time? Didnât she break up with Callum already?â
Immediately after, she saw the security guards at the door of the mansion respectfully step aside. One of them took the key to the car handed over by Madeline and helped Madeline park the car. The other security guard opened the iron fence gate and let Madeline enter the mansion.
09:37 D Madeline didnât even say anything to the two security guards. Obviously, that was something that happened so commonly that both parties already formed a tacit understanding.
Looking at the scene in front of her, Lillian felt tears welling up in her eyes.
She almost got out of the car in a daze and walked toward the security guards. She wondered why Madeline could get in, not to mention seemingly so used to doing so.
She wondered if Callum and Madeline were still entangled.
At that moment, the security guard who helped Madeline park her car came back. After seeing Lillian, he frowned, having recognized Lillian. He thought, âMr. White brought this woman back to the mansion a few times previously.â
So, the security guard strode forward and stopped Lillian, âHey, Mr. White doesnât want to see anyone tonight. Mr. White instructed that no one is allowed to enter, no matter what. Regardless of what urgent matters, everyone should be turned away.â
Lillian thought, âEveryone should be turned away?â Her heart shuddered. âWhy did you let Madeline enter, then?â
âMs. Tall? Thatâs different. Mr. White has been waiting for Ms. Tall for the whole night.â The security guard smiled and looked at Lillian contemptuously. Compared with Madelineâs branded outfit, the clothes on Lillian naturally seemed much cheaper.
âThatâs right. Ms. Tall has been frequenting lately. Speaking of which, she comes once or twice a week,â the other security guard said.
âMaybe they will get back together again soon. After all, theyâve been dating for so many years.â
âThatâs right. Ms. Tall stayed overnight almost whenever she visited. I think there a press conference will be held soon.â
The two security guards chatted. Listening to their words, Lillian felt her heart turning colder by the second.
She thought, âOnce or twice a week? And she even stayed overnight every time she visited the mansion? Callum said that he had never loved Madeline, but now he let her live in his mansion. What was the important thing he wanted to tell me? Was he going to tell me about the relationship between him and Madeline? Did he say that he was going to marry me just because I have a baby, or am I just his backup all along? When he fell out with the Tall family, he spared me his attention, but now that he and the Tall family have mutual benefits to gain, heâs getting back together with Madeline?â
The two security guards looked at Lillianâs pale and dazed countenance. One of them advised, âQuit lingering here and harboring wishful thinking. There arenât many commoners who can marry into prominent families. Mr. White cares only for Ms. Tall all along. Otherwise, why would he get back together when sheâs involved in that scandal?â
