Chapter 933
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
Jonathanâs unusual behavior made Rosalie shiver. âJon, what happened?â
âAnswer me first. Am I right?â There was a trace of urgency in Jonathanâs voice.
âYeah, youâre right. Youâre the person I love the most. I will always stand on your side.â Rosalie raised her hands and hugged Jonathan. âTell me whatâs going on.â
Jonathan didnât say anything but still held Rosalie tightly with his chin resting on her shoulder. His every breath seemed a little uneven.
âJon, we are husband and wife. No matter what happens, I will face it with you,â Rosalie said.
Jonathan was silent for a while before he said slowly, âIâm just feeling sorry for my father. My father loved a woman so much, that he betrayed the Youngblood family for that woman to stay with her. But that woman left me and my father without even looking back because my father couldnât give her more money.â
Rosalie naturally knew that the woman Jonathan mentioned was his mother. âItâs her loss to be without your father. She will find out later that no man in this world loves her as much as your father does. She will regret the decision she made at that time.â
âRegret?â Jonathan suddenly sneered. âWhy would a woman like her regret it? Sheâs probably having the time of her life right now!â
Rosalie slowly raised Jonathanâs face and said, âJon, donât let your mother hold you down any longer.
Those things have passed. No one knows where your mother is and whether sheâs dead or alive. But you have your life to live. If youâre always immersed in the past, then you will never really be happy.
Jon, stop thinking about it, okay?â
âStop thinking about it?â Jonathanâs eyelashes trembled slightly, then he slowly raised his eyes and looked at Rosalie. âWhat if my mother showed up in front of me one day? What would you do?â
âMe?â Rosalie was stunned. She had never thought about such a thing. âI donât know. What happens between you and your mother should be your decision. But I hope that you will not regret any decision you make in the future.â
Jonathanâs eyes flickered. âYou said itâs up to me to decide, so Iâll definitely not regret the decision Iâve made.â
With that, Jonathan clasped the back of Rosalieâs head and kissed her lips hard.
In the end, Rosalie fell asleep. Jonathan stared at her sleeping face in a daze for a long time before picking her up and walking into the bathroom.
The light of the bathroom reflected on Rosalieâs skin.
âRosie, donât interfere in tomorrowâs affairs, okay? Just watch quietly,â Jonathan murmured. âIf that person⦠is not her, then I will spare her for your sake. But that woman is the only person in this world I wonât spare!â
If Jonathan chose to forgive Kaylie, then what would become of the pain he endured as a child and Lucianâs death?
Early the next morning, Rosalie, dressed in a turtleneck sweater, accompanied Connor and Kaylie to the cemetery of the Youngblood family.
Fortunately, it was cold now. It wasnât surprising to wear a turtleneck sweater.
However, at the thought of Jonathanâs abnormal behavior yesterday, Rosalie somehow felt a little uneasy. Yesterday was not a mourning day, but Jonathan had gone to the memorial hall and had even mentioned his mother. Obviously, there was something wrong with him.
In the end, Rosalie didnât ask what happened and why Jonathan had gone to the memorial hall.
Thinking of last night, Rosalie blushed. She would have to ask Jonathan again tonight to see if he had something on his mind.
Rosalie, Rosalie!â Rosalie heard the voice of Connor.
Rosalie came back to her senses and asked, âMr. Smuckler, whatâs wrong?â
09:01 âIs Jonathan not coming over?â Connor asked.
âJonathan has a meeting this morning. He may come later. Letâs go in first,â Rosalie said. The car had stopped in front of the Youngblood familyâs cemetery.
âOkay,â Connor said and helped Kaylie get out of the car.
Kaylie had been silent since she came out of the hospital today. At that moment, standing at the entrance to the cemetery, Kaylie suddenly stopped and looked at the entrance in a daze with red eyes.
âMrs. Smuckler, why did you stop?â Rosalie asked.
âOh, itâs nothing. Letâs go in,â Kaylie said in a choked voice.
Connor patted Kaylie on the shoulder as if he was comforting her and reminding her of something.
Rosalie led them into the cemetery and came to Lucianâs tombstone. There was a black-and-white photo of Lucian when he was young. He was smiling softly.
It seemed as though time had come to a standstill within this black-and-white photograph.
Kaylie looked at Lucianâs photo blankly, and suddenly she couldnât control her emotions anymore and burst into tears.
Rosalie was at a loss. âMrs. Smuckler, whatâs wrong with you?â
Kaylie cried harder and almost knelt in front of the tombstone. She sounded devastated and sad.
âKaylie probably thought of a friend⦠She had a friend who died when she was very young, so her mood is a little unstable,â Connor explained. He then squatted down and comforted Kaylie, âDonât cry.
Itâs all in the past. You were just discharged from the hospital. I worry that if you exhaust yourself with tears, it may hinder the recovery of your leg.â
