Never mind about taking advantage of the boss, her ex from her previous life pretty much spent every penny of his hard-earn scholarship money on her. By the same token, there was certainly no reason to feign to be noble and virtuous in front of the boss. After all, he was so poor that all he had left was money. Perfect for them to head to the shopping mall and buy, buy, buy and have him buy all of the clothes and purses that she had her eyes on but couldnât afford in the past. That would somewhat begin to make up for her loss of her 2 million yuan.
But after Yan Shuyu heard the bossâs suggestion to go shopping, her first reaction was to think about her 2 million yuan of loss and felt blue. She didnât even give it another thought before she said, âNo, I donât want to go.â
She had lost 2 million yuan, and she didnât even have 20,000 yuan in her bank account after she had worked and been frugal for so long. She didnât have the money to shop. What could she possibly buy?
After she had said those words decisively, she suddenly realized how stupid she was. Given the bossâs normal behavior, he would never let her pay for her own stuff. She was just thinking about how to save it when Zhou Qinhe raised his brows a bit in surprise and said in a mild and coddling tone, âOkay, then we wonât go shopping.â

During the silence, Zhou Qinhe squeezed her hand softly. In a tender and doting voice, he asked, âWhat would Yanyan like to do?â
Yan Shuyu, always a sucker when pampered, recovered immediately. All of a sudden, shopping or not wasnât so important anymore. Itâs a date and she should be happy. She started giving this some thought and suddenly recalled what she had told her instant son this morning to placate him and said excitedly, âHow about the amusement park?â
That was completely beyond Zhou Qinheâs imagination. He asked with hesitation, âJust the two of us?â
âYou have never been to one, have you?â Yan Shuyu gloated complacently. âThere just might be more adults than kids at the amusement park. Itâs a good spot to go on a date.â She had never been to an amusement park here; now itâs a good time to check one out.
Zhou Qinhe didnât mind that she was making fun of him. At least, he still looked pretty normal. âAlright, letâs go to the amusement park.â
As they had dropped off Zhang Yuanjia at the musical institution first and spent some time on their discussion in the car, it was already 10 oâclock by the time they got to the amusement park. The weather was nice and there were a lot of patrons. The line, however, wasnât too long. After they have walked inside of the park, Yan Shuyu happily put on her cartoon head band, the type with lights. She even turned on the lights even though it was broad daylight. Then, with the blinking lights on her head, she turned to the boss and said, âUncle Zhou, do I like bright to you?â
Yan Shuyu even tastelessly used a high-pitch little girlâs voice when she said that and had successfully got the attention of those around them.
This was one of the hotspots for shopping inside the park and many people liked buying swags so it was quite busy inside the shop. There were both adults and children. Just like Yan Shuyu had said earlier, there were a lot of young couples there which was why the two of them didnât attract too much attention even with their exceptional good looks.
