The Divorce Prescription Chapter 126
The Divorce Prescription
Adam also sensed something was off. He glanced at Celine, then loosened his grip. The soft, fair foot quickly withdrew and was hidden beneath her skirt.
Adam sat up as well, shifting back to the main topic. âIâll have someone handle this.â
Celine curled up on the bed and refused. âThank you, Mr. Alvarez, but that wonât be necessary.â
Adam looked at her. âCeline, donât be ungrateful. Do you think I want to deal with your problems?â
âThen donât,â she shot back. âSince the moment you told me to leave Alvarez Residence, my problems have had nothing to do with you.â
The tension between them thickened, and Adamâs frustration was palpable.
Celine raised her delicate eyebrows and looked him up and down. âDidnât Carly satisfy you last night?â
Adam froze in place.
âIf she did, why are you here? You just want to help me so I can repay you later, donât you?â
His mind flashed back to that stormy nightâthe one secret only the two of them shared. Heâd helped her, and she had repaid him.
Adam stood up abruptly. âI must have been out of my mind to come looking for you.â
With that icy remark, he turned and walked out.
He was gone just like that.
Celine wrapped her arms around herself.
She didnât need Adamâs meddling in her life. He should stop pretending to be kindâjust stay cold and heartless like he always was.
She certainly didnât want his pity.
Just then, the dormitory door opened, and Hailey walked in. âCeline, why did Mr. Alvarez leave so quickly? He hardly ever visits. You shouldâve found a way to make him stay! You canât just let him go to that mistress, Carly!â
Hailey had left earlier to give Celine and Adam some time alone.
Celine understood Haileyâs intentions and gave a bitter smile. âForget it, Hailey. Heâll never like me.â
Hailey was about to say something, but Celine cut her off. âOur top priority is to deal with the current issue.â
Haileyâs eyes lit up. âCeline, do you have a plan?â
Of course, she did. She didnât need Adamâs help. She could handle it on her own just fine.
Celine got out of bed and tied her long, jetâblack hair up, exposing her swanâlike neck. She turned to Hailey. âLetâs go, Hailey.â
Hailey was puzzled. âWhere are we going?â
Celine blinked, her bright eyes sparkling with mischief. âTo deal with Elijah!â
Hailey burst into laughter. Earlier, in Baileyâs office, she sensed Celine had a plan when she stopped her from acting impulsively.
âAlright, letâs go!â
Adam returned to his luxurious RollsâRoyce.
On the driverâs seat, Leo noticed his stormy expression and cautiously asked, âMr. Alvarez, how should we handle Mrs. Alvarezâs situation?â
Adamâs voice was iceâcold as he said, âDonât bother with her. She can deal with her own mess.â
Then he let out a frosty snort. âWhen she gets kicked out of Yorhine University, sheâll come crying back to me.â
Leo was left speechless Were this couple fighting again?
Just then, a ding sounded as Leoâs phone vibrated with a new message.
âMr. Alvarez, thereâs been a twist in Mrs. Alvarezâs situation!â
