The Divorce Prescription Chapter 57
The Divorce Prescription
As Celine entered the room, no one bothered to acknowledge her presence. She quietly stood at the side, feeling completely out of place amid the lively atmosphere.
Lucy finally spoke up. âCeline, youâre back.â
with that, all eyes turned toward Celine in unison.
The smile on Soniaâs face instantly disappeared and was replaced by a look of disdain. âWhat are you doing here ?â
Lucy chuckled awkwardly âMom, since itâs your birthday today, I thought it was only right to have Celine come.â
Sonia looked displeased. âI didnât ask for her. Look at how outstanding Tracy and are! And then thereâs Celineâjust a country bumpkin who doesnât belong here.
Sonia disliked Celine, Carly and Tracy looked exquisite they had carefully dressed up for todayâs banquet. They glanced coldly at Celine, then turned to reassure Sonia.
âGrandma, since Celineâs already here, just let her stay. Sheâs still your granddaughter, after all. You canât just turn her away,â Carly said sweetly. There was a hint of mockery in her tone.
âGrandma, todayâs your special day. Donât let something so trivial ruin your mood,â Tracy added with an insincere smile on her face.
A small smile appeared on Soniaâs face once again. âIâm truly blessed to have both of you as my granddaughters.â
Her words, however, carried implied meaningâshe didnât see Celine as her granddaughter.
Celine couldnât help but scott inwardly.
The Tate family was nothing back in the . Her father, Aaron Tate, had built the familyâs fortune from the ground up.
When Aaron started making money, he sent Hayden to university, making him the first university graduate in the family. He also introduced Wayne into the steel business, making him the successful businessman he is today.
However, when Aaron passed away, none of them mourned his loss. Instead, they were quick to fight over his assets.
Everything they had today was the fruit of her fatherâs hard work Sonia was the shrewdest of them allâshe only favored those who brought glory to the Tate family.
Celine shot them a glance. One day, she promised herself, she would make them lose everything that didnât truly belong to t to them.
Lucy turned to Celine and snapped, âCeline, donât just stand there. Your grandma doesnât want to see you. There are so many guests here tonight, and the nsaids are short- banded. Go help out â
Lucy treated her like a maid Celine kept expression neutral. She nodded obediently and replied, âOkay â
As she made her way to the group of maids, one of them instructed her, âHurry up and take these wine glasses to the kitchen â
Celine didnât fight back. She just did as she was told. She was aware that she was a nobody in Tate , even the maids felt they could command her.
