Livianaâs POV
The guy from earlier and I eyed each other awkwardly.
If I remember correctly, his name is Rainer.
He is Haloâs head warrior.
I cleared my throat.
âIâ¦uhmâ¦sorryâ I apologized as I flushed red.
Then, he chuckled.
âItâs fineâ he said.
The door opened and King Callisto came in followed by a helper in a uniform with a wheelchair.
âI donât think I need thatâ I pointed out.
âI donât want you to strain yourself. You have just woken up from a coma of more than a yearâ King Callisto said firmly.
He had simply just completely disregarded what I did earlier.
In fact, no one has even questioned me yet about the whole scene.
Is having superpowers here common or what?
âRainerâ King Callisto motioned to his head warrior.
The guy nodded and carefully approached me.
âIâm lifting you upâ he said.
Even before I could refuse or complain, he scooped me out of the bed and lifted me in his arms bridal style.
I squeaked and he chuckled.
I immediately flushed red.
The guy gently put me down on the wheelchair.
âIâm merely recovering. Iâm not disabledâ I whined as I looked away in embarrassment.
âExactly. Youâre recovering so donât strain yourselfâ King Callisto said.
I sighed and just stayed quiet for my own good.
Rainer, the head warrior, pushed my wheelchair out of the room as we made our way through the hallway.
My eyes roamed around the hallways of the palace.
I was sure that this place was huge.
But somehow, it felt more cozy compared to the one in Lunar.
The palace there didnât feel this way.
In fact, the palace there made me feel suffocated.
But here, it felt cozy.
It felt likeâ¦a real home.
Finally, we stopped in front of a closed door.
There were 2 guards guarding the door from outside.
King Callisto turned to look at me and kneeled in front of me as he held my hand.
âLivianaâ he said softly.
I looked at him curiously.
Then, he sighed.
âDonâtâ¦hesitate to ask us any question you might haveâ he said and gave me a small smile.
I nodded although I felt quite anxious.
One of the guards opened the door and Rainer pushed my wheelchair inside.
We entered a well lit room.
The walls were a combination of white and baby blue.
My eyes roamed around.
There were shelves filled with books that seem to be for kids.
Then, there were baskets and baskets with a ton of toys in them.
There were also toys on the carpet of the floor.
But my eyes stayed on the crib at the center of the room.
My eyebrows furrowed confused.
âWhatâs this supposed to be? Donât tell me that this isâ¦my room?â I asked confused.
I didnât quite understand what I was doing here.
I saw Reiner bite his lower l*p as he looked the other way.
I can only assume that he was trying to hide in his laughter.
King Callisto chuckled and sighed.
âNot quiteâ King Callisto said.
âThen whatââ
Suddenly, a door opened and a woman came out holding a child in her hands.
The womanâs eyes landed on me and her eyes slightly widened.
But my eyes stayed on the child that the woman was holding.
I couldnât breathe properly.
I didnât understand why I was feeling this way.
The child moved and turned to look in our direction.
Then, our eyes met.
He had green eyes.
Black hair like mine.
His features reminded me of someone I knew so well.
âMamaâ the child said.
My mouth gaped open.
âMamaâ he said again as he extended his arms towards me.
My eyes started to tear up.
I was left in shock as I stared at the child.
âMamaâ he kept saying as he desperately reached his arms out to me.
As if on instinct, I stood up as I made my way to him.
My eyes never left his.
I stopped just a few steps away.
âMamaâ he said again and tear left my eye as I reached out to touch his extended hand.
Then, I felt it.
I felt a connection.
Tears started to stream down my face as I carefully carried him in my arms.
He immediately snuggled into me.
I held him like the fragile thing he was as I turned to look at King Callisto.
âIs heâ¦.â I tried to ask but I was finding it hard to speak.
âHeâs yours. Heâs your son, Livianaâ King Callisto confirmed.
My breath hitched as I held the little boy in my arms.
I started to sob as my knees weakened.
Suddenly, I felt hands supporting me from my sides.
I looked to see Rainer already standing beside me as he supported me.
It was all still sinking into me.
I carefully sat down while Rainer supported me.
I looked at the baby boy in my embrace.
He too looked up at me as my tears continued to come out of my eyes like a waterfall.
âMamaâ he said.
I sobbed as I cupped his face.
âH-hiâ I said with a smile and kissed his forehead.
Then, I turned to look at King Callisto again.
âH-how old i-is he?â I asked as I sobbed.
â11 months. Heâs turning 1 next monthâ he told me.
I bit my lower l*p.
11 months.
I havenât been by my own sonâs side for 11 months.
âH-how?â I asked.
I couldnât comprehend it all.
âWhen Rainer found you, he immediately rushed you here thinking that you were Diana because of your wolfâ King Callisto started.
âWhen you turned back to your human form, we were unsure whether who you actually were. But still, we got you treatedâ he continued on.
âWhen you were examined, the doctors said you were pregnantâ he said.
âBut they also said it would be even more dangerous considering that you were already in critical condition that timeâ he explained.
I kept listening.
âThe doctors suggested to let go of the child in your wombâ King Callisto said carefully.
My heart clenched.
âBut the moment that they tried to even touch you and your child with the intention of getting rid of the living being in your womb, there wasâ¦a special force that refused to let them harm either one of you. It was as if it was protecting us from getting rid of the childâ he explained.
I felt a sudden relief.
The moon goddess.
It mustâve been the moon goddess.
After all this time, she was doing something like this without my knowledge.
âSo despite the risk, we had to save and sustain both you and the child despite your critical condition. We threw away any intention of sacrificing either one of you to keep the other aliveâ he continued.
âThat was the only way that you can be treated without a force stopping the doctorsâ he explained.
âFor the first few months until you gave birth, we had to take extra precautions and extra care to make sure that youâll both be safe until youâll need to give birthâ he said.
âWhen that day came when the doctor gave a go signal, the doctors took out your sons via cesareanâ King Callisto said.
âHe was a healthy baby boyâ he added with a small smile as he looked at my son.
âThen, you continued to recover while still in a coma while we took care of himâ he finished.
I looked at my son again.
His eyes were already close as he snuggled into me in a sleeping form.
âHe would cry almost every day and would only stop when he was put beside you. You were in a coma but he still found safety in your mere presenceâ King Callisto told me.
Another tear escaped my eye.
âHis first word was âmamaâ. Ever since that day, heâs been saying it every chance he getsâ King Callisto said with a chuckle.
I smiled.
I cupped my sonâs little face as I lightly brushed my thumb on his cheek.
âHow preciousâ I muttered with a smile on my face.
âThere are only a few people who he approves of holding himâ King Callisto suddenly said.
I looked at him curiously.
âWho are they?â I asked curiously.
âMina, your momâs old nanny. Kaley, your momâs cousinâs daughter. Rainer, your bodyguard. Selene, my wife. Then, meâ King Callisto elaborated.
My eyes landed on the woman beside King Callisto.
She had silver hair like my mom but she had deep blue eyes.
âLiviana, this is my wife. Your grandmother. Queen Selene White of Haloâ King Callisto said.
The womanâs eyes watered as she looked at me.
âLivianaâ she said softly as shw slowly approached.
She kneeled beside me as she cupped my face.
Tears started to stream down her face as she examined my face while she caressed my cheeks with her thumb lightly.
âWhat a beautiful child you are. Just like your motherâ she said with a smile.
I smiled as well.
âNo wonder I felt a connection with you that dayâ she muttered.
âMy sweet granddaughterâ she said as she sobbed and hugged me.
We had our moment for a while.
Until, King Callisto suggested to Queen Selene to let my son and I have our little privacy.
Everyone except Rainer left the room.
I sat comfortably on a love seat inside of the room as I held my son in my arms.
He was sleeping on my chest peacefully as I stared at him in awe.
I canât believe I gave birth to such a precious being.
In my eyes, he was a precious little gem of mine.
My precious son.
