Livianaâs POV
âI want to go backâ I muttered.
Thenâ¦.I sank.
I went straight in the water beneath my feet.
It was as if it was pulling me down and I struggled to swim afloat.
In the end, I failed and I sank deeper in the water.
I couldnât breathe.
Whatâs happening?
I shut my eyes and focus on gathering my energy.
But I couldnât feel anything.
âMamaâ
I opened my eyes.
I was still deep in the water.
I could only see darkness.
âMamaâ
It was a voice of a child.
So soft.
So warm.
âMamaâ
I moved my head frantically to search for it but didnât anyone else in the water.
But the sound seemed so close.
Yet, I couldnât reach it.
âMamaâ
I closed my eyes tightly again.
Where is it coming from?
I need toâ¦find it.
Whoever it was
Just like that, I opened my eyes again and I gasped as I jolt awake.
Then, I fell on a soft material.
What just happened?
My eyes roamed around.
I was in an unfamiliar bedroom.
Then, I sensed movements beside me.
I quickly sat up as I summoned my powers.
The guy approaching me came flying across the room as he was slammed onto the wall.
My eyes glowed bright gold as my hands lit up on fire.
The man looked at me in shock.
âWho are you and where am I?â I growled.
The man kept looking at me in shock.
I forced myself to get out of the bed and stood up.
Then, the door suddenly burst open and I heard loud gasps.
I snapped my head to look at the people by the door.
They all looked at me with fear in their eyes.
âMove!â someone loudly growled and the people stepped to the side as a man made his way through the people by the door.
Then, our eyes met.
His golden eyes stared into mine and his eyes widened as he saw me.
Then, he turned his eyes to look at my hands and I watched as his mouth gaped open in shock.
âDonât come closerâ I warned in a dangerous tone as I raised my hand in their direction.
Suddenly, guards came rushing as they shielded the man and pointed their swords at me.
âPut your weapons down!â the man commanded firmly and he shove away the guards as he stepped in front of them again to face me.
âBut your highnessâ one guard said.
Your highness?
The man glared at the guard and the guard immediately lowered his head.
Then, the man looked at me once again and then he looked at the guy who I pinned up the wall.
âPlease let him goâ he calmly said.
I raised my brow at him.
âWhy would I?â I said eyeing him.
The man sighed.
âWe are not here to harm youâ he assured me.
I chuckled slightly.
âDo you think thatâs easy to believe?â I said.
The man only looked at me.
âWho are you and where am I?â I asked keeping my guard up.
âYouâre in the royal palaceâ he said.
My brows furrowed.
The royal palace?
Thatâs impossible.
âThe royal palace of Haloâ he clarified.
My eyes widened.
Halo?
Iâm inâ¦Halo?
âIâ¦.Iâm the Kingâ the man continued.
âI am King Callisto White of the Halo territoryâ he said.
King Callisto White?
I know Iâve heard that name before.
I stared at the man trying to figure out who he actually was.
Then, I realized it.
My mouth gaped open.
âYouâ¦youâreâ¦youâre Princess Diana Whiteâsâ¦father?â I said in shock.
I had assumed that he had stepped down from the throne of Halo.
But I guess I was wrong.
The manâs expression changed suddenly.
âYou know my daughter?â he said.
I bit my lower l*p.
Of course I know her.
Atleast I know her now.
She is the one who gave birth to me after all.
âYes. I do know herâ I said and I saw a glint of hope flash in his eyes.
âDo you know where she is?â he asked hopeful.
I gulped.
How was I supposed to tell him that although I knew where she was, she was no longer with us?
Atleast not physically.
âSheâ¦.sheâs no longer with us. Iâm sorryâ I said apologetically.
I saw how the Kingâs hopeful expression turned into a pained one.
I looked away not wanting to see the sadness in his eyes.
Then, my eyes met with the guy who is still pinned on the wall.
I sighed and lowered him back to the ground as I stepped back from everyone.
My eyes were no longer glowing bright gold but I still kept my guard up from everyone.
Some of the guards rushed to the guy as they pulled him to their side.
âHow do you know my daughter?â King Callisto asked.
I bit my lower l*p as I looked down.
I extinguished the fire in my hands.
Then, I looked back up as I met eyes with King Callistoâs.
âSheâs my motherâ I said.
The Kingâs eyes widened in shock and so did everyone elseâs in the room.
âPrincess Diana White is my motherâ I stated.
âH-how is that possible?â the King asked in shock.
I thought of what I was supposed to say.
But there were too many people in the room and it made me feel uncomfortable.
I looked at the other people in the room.
Then, the King turned to look at everyone else as well.
He got the message.
âLeaveâ he commanded everyone.
âBut your highnessââ
âI said leave!â he growled.
Everyone backed away as they left the room.
The guy who I pinned to the wall eyed me until the door closed and everyone left.
The King looked at me again.
I took a deep breath.
âWhen my mother ran away, she ended up in Lunarâs territoryâ I started.
The King and I were in a safe distance from each other.
âShe was caught by the Lunarâs warriors and was brought to the palace. To the King. King Kale Alaricâ I continued on.
I saw King Callisto clench his fists.
âHe didnât hurt herâ I told him before he could think of anything bad.
I saw his fists slightly relax.
âThey did find out that they were actually matesâ I said and King Callistoâs eyes widened.
âMates?â he said and I nodded.
âYes. Mates. Princess Diana and King Kale were matesâ I said.
King Callisto looked shocked and confused.
âKing Kale protected Princess Diana and he hid her away from everyone to protect her from harmâ I continued.
âThenâ¦they had meâ I said.
I saw how King Callistoâs expression softened as he looked at me.
âWhatâs your name?â he asked softly.
I pursed my lips.
âLiviana. My name is Livianaâ I said.
King Callisto slightly smiled.
âSome time after I was bornâ¦.something happenedâ I tried to continue.
My jaw clenched.
âSomething badâ I said as I clenched my fists.
âMy parents were hunted down. Both King Kale and Princess Dianaâ I said as my eyes started to tear up at the memory.
âKing Kale was captured and Princess Diana tried to escape with meâ I said.
âBut unfortunately, she thought we couldnât make it if it was her and I. Soâ¦â I paused as I remembered the bitter memory of the past.
I sighed.
âSo she gave me to King Kaleâs most trusted warrior and she sacrificed herself for meâ I said as a tear fell from my eye.
Then, I looked at the King.
I saw his pained expression as his own eyes watered.
âBut the moon goddess took her in. She didnât suffer a terrible death. The moon goddess made my mother a guardian and thatâs where she is nowâ I told him.
The Kingâs expression turned into one of relief.
But Iâm sure he was still feeling down hearted of the news about his daughter.
The King looked at me softly.
âSo youâre my granddaughter?â he asked softly.
I bit my lower l*p and slowly nodded.
The King smiled slightly.
âNo wonderâ he said as he made his way towards me.
I instinctively stepped back.
The King stopped at his tracks.
âI would never harm you. You understand that, right?â he said softly.
I sighed and slightly nodded.
King Callisto smiled again as he continued to walk towards me.
This time, I didnât step away.
As soon as he came to me, King Callisto engulfed me in a tight hug.
âMy granddaughterâ he muttered.
Then, I heard his quiet sobs.
My arms slowly moved to hug him back.
We stayed like that for a moment.
After that, King Callisto guided me back to my bed.
I looked around the room again.
Thatâs when I saw the machines beside the bed.
âHow long was I out?â I asked curiously.
âYou were in a coma for more than a yearâ the King said as he tucked me in.
I looked at him wide eyed.
âI was out for a whole year?!â I exclaimed.
King Callisto nodded.
I gulped.
I was out that long?
âH-how did you find me?â I asked further.
âRainer found you while he wasâ¦on dutyâ he said.
âRainer?â I said.
King Callisto nodded.
âMy head warrior. He was the guy that you pinned to the wall earlierâ he told me.
I pursed my lips in embarrassment.
âI didnât know. Sorryâ I said.
King Callisto chuckled.
âIâm sure you had only done it out of impulse. Waking up in an unfamiliar place can be like thatâ he said in understanding.
We were quiet for a moment.
âLivianaâ he said softly.
âYes?â I replied.
King Callisto looked at me seriously.
âThereâs something else you need to knowâ he said as he stared at me straight in the eyes.
My heart thumped inside of my chest.
I felt nervous for some reason but I didnât know why.
âWhat is it?â I asked.
King Callisto sighed.
Whatever it was, it was making me anxious.
