Livianaâs POV
The doors opened and everyoneâs head turned to look at us.
To look at me.
The Alphas present in the ceremony stood up and slightly bowed at my presence but the ones who werenât there only looked at me curiously.
I didnât mind them and gave an acknowledging nod to the welcoming Alphas and made my way in front.
I stood in front of my sit and motioned everyone to sit down before I did.
They sat down and so did I.
âWhereâs Alpha Dimitri? Shouldnât he be he here at such an important meetingâ one of the clueless Alpha asked.
I slightly tilted my head to the side as I raised my eyebrow.
Did the news not travel far?
Or is he simply playing dumb?
Because if itâs the latter, I simply want to rip his throat out by bringing up such a sensitive topic.
âWe regret to inform you that Alpha Dimitri Crest has passedâ Edmond said.
âBut Alpha Liviana Crest, his daughter is leading the Crescent Moon pack nowâ Edmond added earning confused looks from the clueless Alphas.
âSheâs a teenager. How can she rule such a big pack. Let alone lead an important meeting like this one?â the Alpha earlier said.
My brows furrowed.
How dare someone question my leadership?
âAre you questioning our Alphaâs leadership right now?!â Alex growled fiercely.
âHow dare you use that tone on me?!â the Alpha snarled at Alex.
âHow dare you question me?â I said calmly as I stared at the Alpha with a blank expression.
I felt the powerful aura radiate from me.
It wasnât just an aura of an Alpha.
It was something more superior.
More powerful.
âDo you wish to find out how I was able to get to where I am despite my age?â I asked as a smirk crept on my lips and I played with my fingers.
âTell me and Iâd be more than willing to show not only you but everyone else in this room as wellâ I said and looked up at the Alpha as my eyes glowed gold and the room filled with wolves tensed up.
It was followed by the smell of fear.
âSince the news clearly did not get to some of youâ I started.
âIâve been leading the Crescent Moon pack at age 16 and even before my father had left for the mission thatâ¦â I paused.
âTook his lifeâ I continued although I already knew that it was a lie.
âI have helped him in my own ways throughout the years and he has taught me all there is to leading a pack. Our pack. So if you have a problem with that and you wish to challenge me, I shall accept your challenge and take you onâ I said firmly as my powerful energy filled the room and the wolves bow their heads in submission.
Dante placed his hand on my shoulder.
âTake it easy, Livianaâ he whispered to me and I slightly relax and take a deep breath.
âIf you donât trust me, you may leave now. I do not wish to speak with those who will constantly question my choices. Itâs simply a waste of time and Iâm not one to put up with itâ I said eyeing everyone in the table.
They simply lowered their heads almost making me chuckle in disbelief.
We started the meeting.
âOn whose pack territory did the rogue invasion attempts start?â I asked.
âThe attacks happened in our pack a month agoâ Alpha Trevor voiced out.
âIt happened to us more than a month agoâ another Alpha said.
We waited for a moment for someone to say if they have been attacked earlier than that.
But no one spoke.
âMore than a month agoâ I muttered.
Itâs been happening that long but it has happened a lot of times already.
Rogue attacks happen often but not as often as this.
Itâs awfully peculiar.
âKindly state each and everyoneâs experience on the attacks that happened in their pack territory. This way we can figure out the similarities and differences of each attacks that happenedâ I said and they all agreed and nodded.
The statements were from the earliest attack to the most recent attacks.
There were times that the attacks overlapped.
Every attack increases in terms of effectiveness it seemed.
I had list all the information down mentally.
The person who stated the story of the first attack on our pack territory was Dante.
I could see everyone deeply focused on him.
But I was sure that it wasnât because he was telling the story but because his scent was oddly confusing to them.
He smelled like a wolf but at the same time it didnât.
He had a wolfâs aura but at same time hr didnât.
Iâm sure they were all intrigued of his mere existence.
âThereâs someone insideâ I stated as everyone finished their statements. They all turned to look at me.
âThatâs impossibleâ an Alpha disagreed. I crossed my arms in front of my chest and leaned back.
âI wouldâve denied it myself. But based on everything that you all just said, the problem is obviously insideâ I said.
âYouâre saying we all have spies inside of our pack?â another Alpha said.
âYes. If not, do you have any better explanations on how rogues easily got inside the territory without being caught by the pack guards?â I asked back.
Everyone was silent for a moment.
I smirked.
Exactly.
I hate to admit it myself but I guess there really is someone inside my pack that is a threat to my peopleâs safety.
Whoever it is, there will be grave consequences for that person.
Death.
It might seem like a cruel punishment but death wouldâve been better than solidarity confinement.
Or torture.
âIf what youâre saying is true, how are we supposed to find out who the culprit might be?â another Alpha asked.
I thought of it for a moment.
âThe ones who go in and out of the pack territory should obviously be the main suspect. Iâm sure that whoever they are, they meet the rogues out of the packsâ vicinity. If you have someone new to the pack, they can be a strong candidate as wellâ I said.
They all thought about it and based on how they had reacted, they must have had someone in mind already.
I did too.
All leaders of the pack keep a log of people going on and off our territory.
This is reported to us by the guards and even they themselves are on our radar.
The pack members do not know this but it is one of our ways to keep everyone safe.
At first, I didnât think much of it when I had checked the logs.
But now I find it suspicious.
Whatâs even more shocking is the fact that the suspect in my territory is a guard himself.
The guards personally report the frequency of their leave but I still have men to ensure that what they report is actually true and I had this one particular guard whose records did not match his personal report to the report made by the men that had matched them.
Who wouldâve thought itâs because of this.
âI suddenly remembered somethingâ Dante suddenly and we all looked at him but he only looked at me.
âI think they have this identical marks on their paws. In their human form, they probably have it on their feetâ he voiced out and I nodded.
Thatâs dumb.
But easier for us to confirm the real suspects.
âSeeing how youâve all reacted, Iâm guessing that my assumptions are correctâ I said keeping my blank expression.
I didnât want to look smug just yet.
âI do hope that despite these knowledge, you take your time and think it through how youâll be handling the situation because obviously, being impulsive will only put you through an even worse situationâ I reminded them.
âIâm sure that by now, they have planned their next attacks, itâs better to catch them in the act and you can do as you please with the suspectsâ I said.
Everyone listened as I spoke.
âBe more cautious than you already are. They think they are a step ahead of us but now, weâre notâ I continued.
âWhat if youâre wrong?â the rude Alpha from earlier blurted out.
Everyone turned their heads to looks at him and I raise an eyebrow at him.
âThese are all based on your perspective. You werenât even the one who personally dealt with the rogues so what if all your saying is invalid information?â he said and I smirked in disbelief.
âItâs basically just your theory. How can we know that all of these assumptions youâre throwing at us is precise?â he asked again and I feel Dante move forward but I stop him.
âDo you have any better explanation of the situation or do you just badly want attention and embarrass yourself in front of every single person in the room?â I said with a smug look.
The Alpha glared at me.
âDo you think this is some kind of debate? Weâre trying to look for solutions to a problem here. Iâm not trying to prove myself to you or anyone in this room. I asked for your opinions earlier but none of you seemed to have a clueâ I said with an eyebrow raised.
âYou seem so eager for me to make a mistake from the very start and as this meeting is coming to an end, you think you can still make a fool of me by disagreeing with me but you donât even have your own alibi. Iâm not sure if youâre genuinely confused of the situation or youâre just a complete buffoonâ I stated blankly making the Alpha growl and snapped at me.
Out of anger, he jumped to his seat and to the table shifting to his wolf and lunged at me.
But I was faster than him as I caught his jaws and I slammed him on the floor as the other Alphas watched in shock and Dante, Edmond and Alex took a step to protect me but I give them a look to step back.
This is my fight.
The Alpha tried to get up and get out of my hold but I quickly held him by his neck as I squeezed the air out of him but careful not to fully break his neck to kill him although I wanted to rip his throat out so badly.
My eyes glowed gold and the energy and aura that radiated off me screamed powerful and superior.
It was even stronger than earlier that I couldnât even believe that it was coming from myself.
The Alpha squirmed at my hold as his air supply started to minimize.
Even his own Beta with him couldnât do anything but watch in horror.
Everyone seemed terrified at the sight.
These men were cowering in fear at my mere presence now.
âDo you have a death wish? Iâd be glad to make your wish come true considering that this action of yours is clearly a challenge. Not a very well thought one if I might addâ I hissed.
The Alpha whined in pain with his last few breath.
âA-alpha L-livinaâ¦.p-pleaseâ his Beta managed to beg for the Alphaâs life. I raised a brow at him but he went on his knees as he begged.
I raised my head high before letting go of the pathetic Alpha.
âLeave. Now. The both of you. I do not wish to see or hear from you ever again. If in the future, you will need my help, I shall turn you down for the disrespectful act you have done here tonightâ I said in my Alpha tone then turned to look at the Alpha as he was weakly held and supported by his Beta.
âAnd if you ever question my leadership again, Iâll take it on as an official challenge and be sure to strip you off of your title and your lifeâ I growled.
The Beta and Alpha rushed outside of the meeting room and I had some of my men follow them out just in case they did anything else.
I looked at the wolves in the room and they immediately lowered their eyes when our eyes.
âI believe that this meeting can come to an end. Iâd like to keep in contact with everyone else to know about the updates of the situation and if indeed my assumptions were correctâ I said.
âYes, Alphaâ they said in unison as if they had lost their superiority to me.
I turned to look at Alex and Edmond.
âBe sure that the Alphas have a safe departureâ I said and they both nodded.
I walked out of the room with Dante behind me.
As soon as we reached upstairs, Dante chuckled.
âI donât think youâre fit for a Princess anymoreâ he said in a low tone that only us could hear.
My brows furrowed at him.
âYouâre fit for a Queen, Livianaâ
