Livianaâs POV
It was a long and tiring day.
Youâd think that all those training over night would prepare my stamina for a whole day in an amusement park but it didnât.
I was exhausted.
I felt like I trained for 3 straight days without a break.
But I felt happy though.
The happiest Iâve been in a while.
âDid you have fun?â Luan asked me as he put on his seat belt. I nodded with a smile on my face.
âI did. Did you?â I asked nervously and he nodded with a smile.
âOf course I didâ he said and I smiled.
It was already getting dark and the sky looked amazing as the sun set.
âI guess weâre heading home now?â I said sounding a little disappointed.
Luan shook his head.
âNot yet, baby. We have one more on the list in our little adventureâ he said and gave me a smile.
My heart skipped a beat.
Itâs been doing that since earlier today.
I might need to get checked in the hospital tomorrow because I either have a heart disease or Iâm out of my mind.
We drove to the direction that I knew way too well.
I glanced at Luan but he only smiled.
After a while, he stopped the car at a clearing and he opened the door for me and we got down.
Luan offered his hand to hold mine and I accepted it as we started walking deeper into the woods and into the river.
Itâs been a while.
My eyes widened when I saw the set up by the platform.
There was a path of roses and candles in the platform leading up to a table for two.
âI know that youâre not the romantic type. But I amâ Luan whispered into my ears in a husky voice.
I felt shivers down my spine and my whole body heat up.
I gulped.
Did I just get turned on by Luan?
âUhuh. We most definitely just didâ Amaris butt in and I quickly pushed her to the back of my mind.
Sheâs a talker now huh.
She couldâve given me that type of energy a while back but she didnât.
What a wolf she is.
âCome onâ Luan said as he guided me to cross the platform with him.
Luan pulled the seat for me and I sat down as I admired the whole set up.
It was beautiful.
The moon itself added an ethereal effect on the whole scenario.
It was really breathtaking.
Itâs true that Iâm not into this kind of things.
Iâm not the biggest fans of romantic dates and fancy dinners.
Iâm not too fond of physical touch and affection either.
But thisâ¦
This feels right.
âDo you like it?â Luan asked me and I smiled.
âI love it. Thank youâ I admitted and he smiled widely.
âIâm gladâ he said as we stared into each otherâs eyes.
For a moment, my eyes glowed gold and his glowed green letting us know that our wolves are present in the situation.
It was indeed an amazing moment and I felt something funny in my stomach once more.
Thatâs another thing that I need to get checked too.
I think something is certainly wrong with my internal organs.
Luan reached out for the metal cover in the table revealing some stake and I chuckled.
âNow thatâs what you call effort. You had your personal chef hooked on this one huhâ I teased him and he chuckled.
âThereâs more people involved in setting this up that just the chefâ he said and winked.
I laughed.
âWay to abuse your powerâ I joked and we both laughed.
I felt really comfortable around him now.
Luan was better than I expected him to be.
Or atleast he had changed into a better person when we met and argued more than I could remember.
We started eating.
âYouâre awfully good at this, you know? Iâm guessing youâve done this a lot in the pastâ I said and got annoyed at the question.
But has he?
Has he ever prepared a date like this with other girls heâs met over the years?
Luan chuckled.
âThis is my first, Liviana. I would never go through so much effort to please someone who I know isnât the one for meâ he said as he eyed me.
âItâs just you. It will always be just youâ he said and my heart started racing once more at his words.
How can those simple words have so much effect on me?
âOh really now?â I said trying to compose myself. Luan nodded.
âYes. Just youâ he said again and I hid the smile that tried to creep on my face.
âHow did you do it?â I asked curiously.
If this really was his first time, itâs absolutely amazing how he made it soâ¦special.
So memorable.
So perfect.
âWell, thereâs Cassandra and then the twins. Those guys know a lot of things about dating because they dated so many times beforeâ Luan shrugged.
Of course, it would be his cousins.
Why didnât I even think of that?
âThey did a great job at helping youâ I told him and he nodded.
âYeah. It cost me a new gaming set up, a new car and a Saturday shopping spreeâ he chuckled and my mouth gaped open in amusement.
Of course it had a price.
âItâs all worth it though. As long itâs for you. Plus, itâs really nothing if I think about itâ Luan shrugged as I eyed him.
Sometimes I forget that this man is an actual prince.
A royalty.
I mean, I am too but I donât really live my life in luxury now, do I?
We finished off our dinner and then we sat down by the the edge of the platform as we looked up at the night sky.
The night was so beautiful.
Iâll surely want to remember this my whole life.
And I probably will.
No doubt about that.
âYou look even more beautiful this closeâ Luan suddenly said and I looked at him as our eyes met.
I guess he wasnât really staring at the moon.
The thought made my heart flutter as I stared at him.
âI love this side of you, Livianaâ he said lovingly.
âI love how carefree and happy you are today. For the first time since we met, this is the most youâve shown me of who you are as a person and not as Crescent Moon packâs Alphaâ he continued as he reached out to touch my face.
I felt that spark as his skin touched mine.
It made Amaris rejoice.
âI think Iâve always admired everything about you. Even the reckless youâ he kept going.
I felt like my heart was going to burst any moment.
âYes, you worry me. A lot. But itâs a part of you that I know no one can ever change. And I love that about you. How you always seem to stand your groundâ he said as he stared straight into my eyes.
I bit my lower l*p as I gulped.
âI know that we still have a lot to go through. It will be a long journey. But I know it will be a good one. As long as itâs with youâ he said as he smiled.
I didnât know exactly what to say.
Or how to react.
âWhy?â I blurted out. Luan looked confused for a moment.
âWhy me? I always pushed you away. Refused to submit to you. Despite all that, you pursued me. Why?â I asked him.
It was a question that has been lingering in my mind for a long time.
I wasnât exactly the greatest mate to be.
Hell I wasnât even near great.
I was closer to being the worst than being the best.
âWhat do you mean why?â Luan chuckled. I gulped as I took a deep breath.
âIs it because of the mate bond?â I asked him straightforwardly.
Luan tilted his head a bit to the side as if trying to read whatâs on my mind.
Then, he shook his head.
âAs much as I want to make myself believe that itâs just because of that, itâs notâ he said seriously.
âAt first, maybe it was. We didnât know each other well that time, so all we had between us was the mate bond and nothing elseâ he said.
Thatâs true.
âBit then I got to see a side of you that I never thought any she-wolf would ever haveâ he explained.
I eyed him curiously.
âYouâre independent, in control, loyal, dedicated and well, reckless. You also have the biggest heart for your peopleâ he continued.
The way he talked so highly of me made me want to swoon.
âYouâre strong, fierce and fearless. At such a young age, you started to not only rule your pack but you also protected them from harmâ he said and I saw that spark in his eyes as he talked about me.
âYouâre amazing, Liviana. Youâre amazing and so much moreâ Luan finally said.
I took a deep breath.
âYou talk so highly of me even after everything I have done to youâ I said guilty.
Luan gave me an assuring smile as he held my hand this time.
âWhat happened then doesnât matter that much now. As long as weâre good now, thatâs all that ever mattersâ he said and I smiled.
âI really donât deserve you, you know that?â I blurted out and Luanâs brows furrowed.
âDonât say that. Itâs me who doesnât deserve youâ he said and I shook my head.
âLetâs not lie to each otherâ I chuckled and then looked at him seriously.
âI canât promise anything to you, LuanâI started as I lightly squeezed his hands.
âBut I will try. I will try to be a better mate to youâ I said and I saw his eyes glow green as he smiled happily.
At that moment, I just wanted to k**s him.
I wanted to k**s my mate.
And thatâs exactly what I did.
I pulled Luan to me and our lips met.
I saw the sudden shock in his face but it was gone as quickly as it appeared as he responded to the k**s.
It was a long passionate k**s.
One that was filled with longing and affection.
As we separated, we placed our foreheads with one another.
âI love youâ Luan muttered.
I smiled and gave him a peck instead of replying.
That night, under the moon, I realized how I really felt about Luan Grey.
