Liviana’s POV

“Are you okay?” Dante asked worried as he checked me for any injury.

“I’m fine, uncle. Luan was there” I told him and he sighed in relief.

“Why are royal guards suddenly coming here to look for Grey?” he asked.

“I think his father had them check how he’s doing” I simply said.

“And you’re so calm about this?” he asked in disbelief.

“Should I freak out then? Should I tremble in fear? Should I show them I’m weak?” I asked him and he sighed.

“Liviana” he said.

“I’m tired. I need go to bed. Let’s talk some other time. Please” I said and Dante sighed.

“Fine” he said in defeat.

I immediately went upstairs and to my room.

I locked the door and leaned my back on the door.

This can’t possibly be happening.

So soon?

Luan and I had just completed the mating process and now this?

Flashback to earlier…

“I see” the man said with a grin then glanced at me.

“His majesty is marked and mated” the man stated and smirked.

“The King will want to know this” he said and I almost stopped breathing.

“What are you up to?” Luan growled angrily at him as he held him by the collar.

I froze in my place.

Their from the palace.

The King’s men.

“Go back to your station” I mind linked my men.

“But Alpha” Alex replied.

“Just do as I say. Please. His Majesty Luan is here. I won’t be harmed” I assured them.

“Everyone, please” I said again.

My men lowered their head and carefully backed away to return to their stations.

The King’s men watched me cautiously.

“I don’t have anything planned, your majesty. I don’t know what you’re talking about” the man said to Luan.

The man looked at my direction.

“Your majesty, won’t you introduce me to your mate and her to me?” the man said.

Luan’s grip on him tightened.

I took the initiative of approaching Luan and holding him on his shoulder.

“Calm down…your majesty” I said.

Luan glanced at me with his brows furrowed.

“Did you just refer to me as ‘your majesty’?” he mind linked me in disbelief.

“Should I have gone with first name basis then? Your father’s men look ready to slit my throat if I show any type of disrespect towards you. We wouldn’t want a b***d bath now, would we?” I replied to him.

Luan huffed and aggressively let go of the man before standing beside me and wrapping his arms around me protectively.

“What are you doing here?” Luan asked in a grumpy tone.

“I’m simply here to check up on you like your father has instructed me, your majesty” the man said as he fixed his collar.

“I’m fine, aren’t I? Now, leave” Luan said sternly.

“I would, your majesty. Except, I think you’d want to come with me to explain a few things to your father” the man said and glanced at me for a moment.

Luan’s hold on me tightened.

“Or maybe I can tell him myself. But I don’t think he’ll be too happy now, would he?” the man said.

Luan’s jaw clenched.

“Why do I need to explain myself to him?” Luan said bitterly.

“I don’t know, your majesty. You tell me” the man said and eyed me.

Luan sighed and he gulped.

“By the way, I’m sorry for our rude first encounter but I’d like to formally introduce myself. I am Benjamin Haymes. The King’s right hand and the Prince’s uncle” the man introduced himself.

Haymes?

Abe, Beau and Cassandra’s father?

“I am Alpha Liviana Crest of the Crescent Moon Pack” I introduced back and the man slightly bowed his head and I did the same.

“I’ll go with you” Luan spoke up and we looked at him.

“I’ll be the one to tell my father so I’ll go with you back to the palace” Luan said and turned to look at me.

“I’ll try to come back as soon as I can” he said and kissed me on my forehead.

I nodded.

“Be careful” I said and he nodded.

“Let’s go” Luan said to the man named Benjamin.

The other men opened the door for them as they got in.

Luan gave me a last glance and then they left.

We’ve been found out.

This is exactly what I feared.

It hasn’t even been long since we marked and mated each other and another problem came again.

What will happen now?

I sighed.

I took a quick shower and got dressed for bed.

To think that I was going to have a peaceful night with Luan.

Oh was I wrong.

“Are you okay?” Luan suddenly mind linked me.

I sighed.

“No. Are you?” I asked asked back.

“I’ll be just fine. We’ll be just fine. I won’t let anything happen to us” he replied.

I pursed my lips.

“What do you think will happen?” I asked him.

“I don’t know, baby. But don’t worry too much about it. Get some sleep” he simply replied.

“Fine” I said in defeat.

“Goodnight, my love. I already miss you” he said making me chuckle.

“Goodnight, Luan. I’ll see you soon” I replied and we cut the link.

I stared up at the ceiling.

Whatever happens, I’ll protect everyone and everything that I cherish in my life.

That’s always been my main goal and that’s not changing now.

Although I do feel nervous about the situation, I wilk not cower in fear.

The moon goddess didn’t pick me to be a disappointment.

I will fight back if I need to.

I tried to sleep.

I found myself in the forest and I immediately saw my mother’s worried and frantic look.

“Liviana, dear!” she said and rushed to hug me protectively.

“I’m okay, mom. I’m okay” I assured her.

I saw how her eyes had teared up.

She must be worried sick.

“Liviana” she said again. I caressed her back soothingly.

“I’ll be just fine, mom. I’ll be just fine, I promise you” I told her.

I spent my time in the forest with my mother as we thoroughly talked about the situation I was facing.

It was really risky.

I’m almost sure that the King will be very intrigued as to who his son and only heir decided to mate and mark with.

And that just turns out to be me.

The person whose identity should’ve been fully hidden to someone from the higher up.

I guess it cannot be helped anymore.

As long as they don’t know who I really am, everything will be just fine.

Atleast for now, I think.

Nothing is certain for sure.

I don’t know how long I was able to sleep but I still felt restless when I woke up.

I woke up before dawn and started training by myself.

I needed to somehow distract myself.

I still fekt very anxious about the situation.

I mean, can you blame me?

I don’t even know what the current is like since Luan hasn’t really mentioned him much.

But my senses tell me that he’s bad news.

Really bad news.

I put all my effort in training for the day.

Am I ready?

Will I be able to do this so soon?

Is this a good idea?

A lot of things were going on in my mind.

Most of them aren’t very pretty things.

I wasn’t one to be so anxious about this types of things.

But then again, before, I had nothing to hide.

Now, I have something I need to keep hidden deeply.

Or else.

Who knows what can happen?

“Alpha, the Prince has returned. He’s with 3 more wolves. The names are Abe, Beau and Cassandra Haymes” my guard mind linked me.

“Let them in now” I replied.

“Yes, Alpha” he replied and we cut the link.

I quickly went to my room and changed my clothing since I was almost full of sweat because of the heavy training I did.

I didn’t bother shower since they were already here.

I immediately went down to the living room and like on cue, they came in.

“Luan” I said and Luan rushed to me and wrapped in a hug.

“I missed you so much” he said making me chuckle.

“We saw each other last night. It’s only been a few hours” I reminded him.

“I know. But still” he said as he buried his head on my neck.

“You smell amazing” he growled lowly making me laugh.

“I just came out of training. I think it’s the opposite” I told him and he slightly shook his head.

“Your scent is alluring” he said as he tighten his hold on me protectively.

“Ehem!”

We both turned to look and saw the 3 standing awkwardly by the door.

I chuckled.

“Come in and take a seat. I’ll have someone prepare breakfast” I said and lightly pulled away from Luan making him frown.

“Thanks”

“Thank you”

“Thankie”

I went to the kitchen and asked Theresa and others to prepare something for us since I haven’t had breakfast myself.

Then, I returned to the living room to see El standing awkwardly as he looked at the 3 confused as he held Ellie in his arms.

“I didn’t know you already had a kid” Cassandra pointed at Ellie.

Luan burst out laughing and I chuckled.

“She’s my sister” El said with a frown.

“Livi!” Ellie called out to me and tried to reach out to me.

I can tell that she’s a little nervous of the sudden presence of everyone in the living room since they’re complete strangers.

I carried Ellie into my arms and she wrapped her arms around me as if her life depended on it.

“Aw! She’s so cute!” Cassandra squealed.

I sat beside Luan while Ellie still held on to me.

“What wrong, Ellie?” Luan asked him softly.

Everyone looked at him in surprise.

I’m guessing it’s because of the tone of voice he’s using towards Ellie.

“Who are they, Lu?” Ellie asked innocently.

“Lu?!” the 3 exclaimed.

Luan ignored them.

Lu is Ellie’s nickname for Luan.

She calls him that every now and then.

“They’re my cousins. You don’t need to be afraid of them” Luan assured Ellie.

The 3 still watched Luan baffled.

“Really?” Ellie asked and Luan nodded.

“Of course” he said and Ellie finally nodded and smiled.

Ellie sat comfortably on my lap as she held on to Luan’s finger.

“Is everything okay? This is the first time that you guys went here. It was so sudden too” I said and looked at them.

I saw Luan gulp and I could feel he was nervous about something.

I could feel it from the mate bond.

“I have something urgent to tell you” Luan said carefully.

My eyebrows furrowed at him.

“What is it?” I asked.

“My father wants to personally meet you” he said and it was as if the time stopped and so did my breathing.

The King wants me to meet him?

“There’s a party in the palace tomorrow night. He expects the both of you to be present” Beau voiced out.

“My father invited you to the party, Liviana. He invited us to be there. No matter what” Luan said.

I gulped.

Someone, please tell me this is just a nightmare.
