Liviana’s POV

“The one and only” I said.

My father looked stunned and I smiled.

“We don’t have much time, your highness. We need to go before everyone finds out that we’re here” I said and he nodded.

“But first” I said and took out a knife from my pocket.

“Leave trails of your b***d behind all over the place” I said.

He looked confused bit nodded and did just that.

After that, we got out of the cell as Dante and Pa did.

Pa looked at me confused at who I was.

Then, Dante threw me the duffel bag.

I opened the duffel bag and took out the main instrument for our escape.

A time bomb.

My fathers eyes widened at the sight of the bomb.

“Who are you and what are you doing?” Pa asked.

I glanced at him and gave him a small smile.

Dante took out another bottle of masking perfume and started to spray and apply it to Pa and King Kale.

“We have 5 minutes” I said and pushed the button then dragged King Kale with me while Dante dragged Pa.

“Livi?” Pa said and I just smiled at him.

We made our way up the stairs and out of the passage.

Dante and I moved the lifeless bodies of the guards from earlier and threw them in the passage.

We closed it tight and went to the library door.

I peeked to see of anyone was around but there wasn’t.

We quickly went out to the hallway and made our way to the basement.

Then, we moved the cabinet to the side again revealing another secret passage leading outside.

I looked at my watch.

We didn’t have much time left.

I led the way to the passage as Dante sealed it off once we were all in.

I took a deep breath and shifted into my wolf in the dark.

Then I huffed as I nudged them and lowered myself for them to get on.

“Get on. We don’t have much time” Dante instructed.

They all got on my back and I quickly sprinted through the passage.

Just as we got close to the end, there was a loud boom followed by the shaking of the ground.

I ran even faster to reach the end of the passage.

Then, I stopped as Dante got down and removed the cover of the passage.

He peeked outside for a moment and glanced at me then nodded.

Dante took a large cloth from the duffel bag and covered Pa and King Kale.

“Get down low until we reach the next town” Dante told them.

They leaned forward closer to my body as they covered themselves with the cloth.

Dante got on my back again.

I huffed and got out then ran faster than I’ve ever ran in my entire life.

I could hear the sounds of panic coming from the distant.

We crossed the palace borders without problem because the guards had gone to the palace after the explosion.

I ran faster and faster until we reached the next town.

I made my way somewhere near the inn and stopped when we reached it.

Dante got down and he motioned Pa and King Kale to get down as well.

They all got down and Dante gave me a pair of clothes to change into.

King Kale was looking at my wolf curiously.

He looked away when I went behind a bush and I shifted back to my human form.

I slipped into my clothes and got out from the bush.

They all turned to my direction.

“Livi”

“Liviana”

I ran up to my fathers as they both caught me in their arm and into a group hug.

“Finally” King Kale muttered.

I felt so relieved.

“I’m not trying to ruin the moment but we need to get inside first and leave immediately” Dante reminded.

We pulled away and I gave them a smile.

“Uncle is right. We need to go” I said and they nodded.

We made our way to the inn and went to our room.

Dante gave Pa and King Kale clothes to change into while I cleaned some of our stuff.

“How did you find out that we were still alive, Liviana?” Pa asked.

I bit my lower l*p and glanced at King Kale.

He too was waiting for my answer.

“Mom told me” I said.

King Kale’s eyes widened.

“Your mom? As in Diana? She’s alive?” he asked hopeful.

I looked down and shook my head.

“She’s neither alive nor dead. The moon goddess made her a guardian that night to save her” I said.

I saw the hope fade from ny father’s face.

“I’m sorry” I said. King Kale gave me a sad smile.

“Dante, since when did you meet, Livi?” Pa asked his brother.

“It’s been a while since we met but I helped her and your pack from a rogue attack and saved a little girl named Ellie” Dante said as he glanced at me.

Pa nodded.

“Liviana, you’re marked, aren’t you?” King Kale suddenly said.

I froze.

Dante glanced and stared at me.

I nodded.

“I am” I said.

“Where’s your mate? Does he know what you’re doing?” he kept asking.

I shook my head.

“He doesn’t. Only uncle Dante and I know that you’re both still alive and where you were being held captive in the palace” I said as I put the bag on my shoulders.

“Who is he?” he asked.

I smiled nervously.

“That doesn’t matter right now. We need to go” I said and gave Dante a nod.

We made our way out of the inn and into the car.

Dante opened the cover in the back leading to the secured back seats.

Pa and King Kale got in and Dante closed it.

I got inside the passenger seat while Dante sat on the driver’s seat.

I glanced at the rear view mirror.

The back part of the car was completely covered so no one could see them if anyone peeked inside.

Dante started the engine.

“At some point, you’ll need to tell them who your mate is” he said.

I gulped and nodded.

“I know” I said as we drove off.

“They won’t like it but I’m sure that wouldn’t stop you” he said with a chuckle.

I sighed.

“Do you need to rub it in, uncle?” I said with a frown.

Dante chuckled.

“Don’t worry, it’s not like they have a choice either. They can’t even kill him because you guys are already marked and mated to each other” he said.

That’s true.

“That moon goddess must have something wrong with her head to have you mated to someone who’s supposed to be your enemy” Dante bad mouthed the moon goddess.

“Uncle!” I scolded and he laughed.

“You are so rude!” I said and he just shrugged.

We had to stop in a diner and Dante took out food for everyone.

He gave the meal to Pa and King kale then we continued to make our way back.

“How long do we have to stay away from everyone?” Dante suddenly asked.

“For as long as needed. We never know what might happen the next days to come” I said.

Dante sighed.

“I don’t like the idea of leaving you alone without any of us beside you” he said.

I gave him a small assuring smile.

“I won’t be alone. I have Luan, Edmond, Alex, El and many more who will stand by me no matter what happens” I assured him.

There was a moment of silence.

“Why don’t you just tell Grey what you know about his father?” he asked.

I looked out of the window.

“He’s the only family Luan has. If I…if I tell him, I’m afraid he’ll lose the last family member he has. He already lost his mother. Wouldn’t it be too cruel to tell him now?” I said thinking of Luan.

He’ll be heartbroken.

“You’re going to have to tell him at some point, anyway. Why not now? And based from what you told me before, it seems he doesn’t even have a good relationship with his father” he said.

I bit my lower l*p.

“Because no matter how much of an a**hole his father is, I know he still cares for him deeply” I said.

The way Luan didn’t want to tell me who had hit him that night was one of the signs that he wanted to protect him.

He’s the only family he has now after losing his mother.

And I’m afraid I’ll need to take that only family away from him soon.

I didn’t want to do it.

But I had to.

After a while, we reached our destination.

We got out and Dante opened the cover from the back and let out Pa and King Kale.

I went behind a bush and stripped off my clothes then shifted.

I put my clothes in my mouth and made my way back to them.

I lowered myself to let them get on.

“I’ll run” Dante said and I nodded as my fathers got on me.

“Where are we going?” Pa asked.

“I don’t know. She didn’t tell me either” Dante said with a shrugged.

I started to run and Dante ran just behind me as he followed us.

I thought of different places to hide them from everyone while the situation was still unsafe.

I couldn’t keep them in the pack house, that’s for sure.

Then, I had only one more option.

After a while of running, we reached a cave and I made my way inside while Dante followed.

We entered the passage and got out to my beautiful safe place.

Everyone looked in awe.

I lowered myself as they got down from my back.

I went to the back and shifted back before putting on my clothes on again.

I went beside them as they took in the place.

“What is this place?” King Kale asked.

I looked around with a smile.

“My safe place” I said.

It was the place where I’d meet the moon goddess.

It was supposed to be a place for my little escape but now it serves another purpose.

And it was to keep my family safe.

Atleast until that day comes.
