Liviana’s POV

“When will you come back?” Dad asked even before I could leave.

I chuckled.

“I’ll go and visit tomorrow morning, Dad. The pack house isn’t far from here. I can visit as much as I want but I don’t want someone to track you guys down just because I keep disappearing to here” I said as I hugged my dad.

Dad sighed.

“Okay. As long as you’re safe” he said and gave me a k**s on the top of my head.

I smiled.

Then, I looked at Pa and went to him for a hug.

“Just stay safe. That’s all we ask of you” he said ang also gave me a k**s on the top of my head.

I nodded.

“I will” I said.

Then, I went to my uncle and hugged him too.

“Be a good girl” he reminded and gave me a warning looking.

It was that look that said ‘don’t flirt too much with your mate while I’m not around’ look.

I chuckled and nodded.

He gave me the car keys and they saw me off.

I waved them goodbye as I made my way out our hidden safe place.

I didn’t bother shift and just walked to the car.

After a while, I reached the car and got on.

I drove back to the direction of the pack house.

Amaris was jumping excitedly in my head at the thought of coming home to our mate.

It hasn’t even been that long since I left.

Luan and I also contacted each other from time to time but that doesn’t seem to be enough for Amaris.

That clingy btch just doesn’t understand what space is.

“Hey!” Amaris scolded inside my head.

“What? It’s true” I said.

“It is not!” she denied.

“Oh really? Before we met Luan and Deimos, you were a very conservative, level headed and calm wolf. Now, you’re clingy, needy and definitely flirty” I said chuckling.

Amaris stayed silent and I laughed.

She’s changed so much since we met Luan and his wolf.

I did too.

I’ve changed but not in a bad way.

I just opened my heart a little.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.

After a few minutes, I finally reached the gates to the pack house and my guards let me in.

I drove to the pack house and from the distance, I saw Luan burst out of the doors as he came out.

I smiled.

I parked the car and turned off the engine then got out.

Luan was standing outside of the pack house.

He smiled at the sight of me.

I chuckled as I he walked to me and I ran up to him.

Luan caught me in his arms and spun me around.

I giggled as I wrapped my arms around his neck.

He put me down and gave me a k**s.

“I missed you” he said making me smile.

I gave him a k**s.

“I missed you too” I said and he smiled.

“You were apart for 2 nights and barely 2 days” El said as he came out of the pack house.

I chuckled.

Luan held me by my waist.

“You’ll know how it feel when you find your mate” Luan told him.

El just sighed bitterly.

Luan and I laughed and both went inside the pack house.

“Livi!” Elli squealed excitedly as she ran up to me.

I smiled as I caught her in my arms and lifted her up.

I showered her with k****s as she giggled.

“Where have you been, Livi?” she asked innocently.

I gave her a small smile as I tucked in a lose stand of her hair behind her ear.

“Livi just went out to do something important” I said.

“Were you able to do it?” she asked curiously.

I smiled and nodded.

“Yes. I was able to do it” I told her and she smiled.

I felt so proud of myself.

I’ve really done it.

I saved my fathers.

But still, I have so much in my hands.

“Baby, have you had breakfast yet?” Luan asked as he went to my side and held me by the waist while I was still carrying Ellie.

“I did. Have you?” I asked him.

“I did too since I thought you’d be coming home in the afternoon” he said.

Coming home…

I smiled.

“You guys are an eye sore” El teased and I rolled my eyes at him with a chuckle.

“By the way, where’s Dante? He left with you, didn’t he?” he asked curiously.

This was a question we prepared for.

“Yeah but he had something come up so we parted ways before we came here. He might be gone for a while” I said.

“Really? That’s unfortunate” he said and I nodded in agreement.

“Did he tell you where he was going?” Luan asked.

I shrugged although I actually knew.

“That’s so sudden” El commented.

Maybe coming home without my uncle was more of a big deal than I thought.

“Where’s Edmond?” I asked to change the subject.

“He’s probably by the borders with Alex. He’s been working on some papers since you left but he went out earlier to talk to Alex about the pack members’ training” El said.

I nodded.

“Please tell him to see me when he comes back” I told El and he nodded.

I put down Ellie and gave her a k**s on the top of her head.

“I’ll go upstairs and wash up” I told them and made my way upstairs.

I went straight to the bathroom and took a long cold shower.

It was a relief that Pa and Dad’s scent were already masked and it didn’t rub off on me.

Because if that was the case, I’d have to face Luan’s interrogation and his jealousy over again.

Except I wouldn’t be able to explain myself.

And I couldn’t exactly tell him the reason.

It wasn’t that I didn’t trust him.

I did.

But I knew more than anyone that the truth would hurt him.

And I didn’t want that.

I sighed.

What am I supposed to do when that day comes?

When everything needs to be revealed?

And when he needs to find out everything?

How will my mate feel?

I stood in front of the bathroom mirror with a towel wrapped around my body.

I looked at my reflection.

“What will I do then? When I’ll be the reason for it all” I muttered.

I clenched on the sink as I heaved a deep sigh.

After a while, I got dressed and went out of the shower.

I saw Luan waiting for me by the bed.

“Hey” he greeted me softly.

“Hi” I greeted back with a smile.

He stood up and made his way to me.

“Let me help you dry your hair” he offered and gently pulled me to sit on the stool then plugged in my hair dryer.

I smiled.

Luan started to dry my hair.

He does this ever so often.

It was one his sweet gestures that I already got used to.

“You don’t look too well. Are you okay?” he asked worried.

“I’m fine. Just a little tired, that’s all” I told him.

“Then, you should rest” he said and I nodded.

“I will. Will you rest with me?” I asked and he chuckled.

“How can I refuse that?” he said and slightly pinched my cheeks.

Luan finished drying my hair and we went to bed together.

We snuggled into each other and I felt warm and comfortable in his embrace.

“Luan” I called out softly.

He replied with a hum.

“Will you…still love me even if I end up hurting you?” I suddenly asked him.

Luan was silent for a moment as he caressed my hair.

“I think I will. I think I’ll still feel the same even when you hurt me. I’ll still love you despite anything and everything” he said.

“Why?” I asked.

“Just cause” he said.

“Is it because I’m your mate?” I said.

Luan shook his head.

“It’s because it’s you. It’s because you’re the woman I love” he said and kissed my forehead.

I smiled as I snuggled closer to his chest.

“I’m relieved” I muttered as I closed my eyes to sleep.

“Why? Are you planning on hurting me?” he said with a chuckle.

I shook my head and I heard him chuckle again.

“I love you” he whispered making me smile.

I’m relieved it’s me.

And I’m relieved it’s him.

I’m relieved it’s Luan.
