Liviana’s POV

I massaged my temple as a headache sets in.

We still can’t figure out the culprits of the attack from yesterday.

The warrior is still unconscious and in a really bad condition so he can’t tell us any information we needed.

“Chill, baby. I’m sure you’ll find the culprits soon” Grey said. I glared at him and he just chuckled.

He’s been here since early morning.

What a headache he was.

I heard footsteps coming which was followed by a knock on the door.

I stood up to knowing who it was.

“Livi!” Ellie exclaimed reaching to me while El held her. I got her from El and she immediately clung onto me with a hug.

“Ma and Pa went out to buy some necessities while she’s asleep and she suddenly woke up crying. I couldn’t stop her from crying so I figured you could” he said. I chuckled.

“Just leave her to me” I said. He looked reluctant and glanced inside my office knowing who I was with.

“It’s okay” I assured him and he nodded.

I closed the office door as Ellie’s face was buried in my neck seeking comfort. Grey followed us with his gaze as I sat back down my swivel chair with Ellie in my hands.

“Ellie, do you want to color?” I asked softly. She looked at me with her innocent eyes and nodded carefully. I smiled and sat her in my life comfortably before taking out a coloring book and crayons in my drawer.

“Thank you, Livi” she said sweetly and I planted a k**s on your head.

“You’re welcome, little one” I said as she started coloring with a smile.

Then it dawned on me again that Grey was indeed also in the room. He was just watching us. I coughed a little embarrassed.

“You really should go home now. My office and our pack house isn’t your hangout place” I told him. He just chuckled again then turned his attention to Ellie.

“You like kids huh” he suddenly said. I ignored him.

“How many pups do you want in the future?” he asked next. I gave him a look but he seemed serious about his question.

“Are you seriously asking me this?” I asked stunned with his serious expression. He nodded.

“You should tell me so we can prepare for it” he explained. My mouth gaped open in disbelief.

“But thinking about it, we can have as many as we want since we can provide for them just fine” he added. I felt my face heat.

“You—leave. Right now. Leave” I said as my face flushed red. He laughed hysterically.

Then I sensed it.

Almost immediately one of my guards burst in my office panting.

“Alpha, Beta Edmond and Theresa were taken hostage by rogues” he said panting. My brows furrowed and my eyes darkened as I stood up holding Ellie. Grey glanced at me.

“Where’s El?” I immediately asked. He looked wary.

“He…he went to find them with Warrior Alex” he said nervously. I closed my eyes in frustration.

I looked at Ellie for a moment and then glanced at Grey.

“You” I said pertaining to Grey.

“Go home” I said then turned to my guard.

“And you” I said pertaining to my guard.

“Look after Ellie and tell the other pack leaders to stand down. I don’t need anyone else charging on” I said and gave him Ellie. I sighed and gave Ellie a k**s before she left with the guard.

“Liviana—“

“Go home now” I said to Grey sternly and jumped out the window as I landed on my feet and ran to the woods.

“Where are you?” I mind linked Alex.

“We’re on our way to the reservoir outside town” he replied.

“Don’t do anything stupid and wait for me. Stop El at all cost. I’ll be there soon” I replied and cut the link before shifting as I made my way to them.

I felt pissed that El and Alex made an impulsive move without my knowledge but I couldn’t exactly blame El because I knew he was more than worried for his parents.

But still, it was a dangerous move.

I soon arrived at the reservoir and saw El and Alex. I gave them a warning glare letting them know that I was not pleased with them.

They both lowered their heads.

“The next time you do this, I won’t let you off” I mind linked El.

“I’m sorry” he replied.

We moved together to an abandoned factory as we followed Edmond and Theresa’s scent.

Sure enough, there were wolves guarding outside. They immediately sensed our presence and growled at us in warning.

El and Alex growled back at them while I approached them head on.

“You must be Crescent Moon’s Alpha” a man came out from the factory along with some other men.

One of the men approached me and El and Alex immediately shielded me with a warning growl.

“Stand down!” I commanded them through mind link. They reluctantly went back behind my back.

The man finally reached me just a meter away and put down a set of clothes. I took it as a sign that he wanted me to change.

El and Alex looked at me wary. I picked up the clothes with my canine then El and Alex covered me as I shifted back to human form putting on the clothes.

“The rumors really are true. A female Alpha with fur as white as snow shimmering like dolomite and alluring golden eyes” the man said amused.

“Where are they?” I asked keeping a straight face.

“Were keeping them cozy inside. Do you want to join them?” he said with a grin.

“Let them go” I said sternly. He smirked.

“Why should I?” he said in a cocky tone.

“Why are you doing this?” I asked him.

“One because I wanted to see if the rumors really were true and two, some new friends paid me to deal with you” he said with a grin. I chuckled in disbelief.

“If you were so interested in me, you should have went straight to my face” I said with a smirk.

“Well, I figured this would be the easiest way to meet you and I was right” he said.

“Let them go and face me head on, then” I challenged him. He chuckled.

“Do you think I’m stupid? I know the moment I let go of those two, you’ll ambush us with your men” he said.

“I wouldn’t play such a petty trick. I have my pride” I said. He stared at me intently.

“If you’re so confident, then how bout this. If you can defeat 3 of my men as you are, I’ll let the prisoners off” he suggested.

I held my head high.

“So be it” I said. He smirked.

“Get the prisoners” he said and motioned to his men. They went in and then went back out with Edmond and Theresa on cuffs and with guns on their heads.

“Tell those two to stand down. If they make any unnecessary move, these two will be shot on the spot” he warned. I gave El and Alex a warning look and they understood immediately.

I walked closer and into the center.

“Don’t try to play a trick on us. There’s 5 times more of us than the 5 of you and 2 of you guys have guns aimed at their heads at the moment” he reminded us.

“Don’t worry, I don’t need to play dirty to free them” I said with a smirk.

He motioned to 3 of his men to come forward to take me on. I stood my ground and faced them with a straight face.

They shifted into their wolf forms and prepared to attack me.

One lunged at me and I avoided its attack. Then came another and I swiftly jumped to avoid it. They growled at me and started circling me from every side.

They all lunged the same time and I jumped on top of one of them and locked its neck on my arms. It tried to shake me off but I tightened my grip and it whimpered in pain.

The two tried to attack and help their member but I was cautious and faster than them.

I avoided their attacks and kicked them making them whimper at my blow. Then I tightened my grip on the other wolf until it breathed its last breath and falling to the ground.

I saw how the man from earlier frowned as he looked at the dead body of one of his men.

The remaining two became more aggressive but I also sensed their sudden fear of me.

Another lunged at me and I avoided it then held it by the side before throwing it aside. It whimpered in pain as it fell on the ground with great impact.

Then the other attempted another attack. I quickly went to its side and grabbed hold of its neck then with one swift move, I snapped it neck.

It fell to the ground dead.

I glanced at the man in satisfaction and smiled. One to go.

The last one angrily lunged at me with its canine but instead of avoiding it, I caught its open mouth.

My eyes glowed and with that, I ripped open its mouth killing it.

I looked at the man again and he snarled at me clearly not amused by me.

“You btch!” he hissed then motioned to his men holding the gun at Edmond and Theresa.

I don’t know how but the next thing I know, I had shifted to my wolf form covering both Edmond and Theresa as two bullets hit my sides.
