Livianaâs POV
The King isâ¦here.
I felt like I couldnât breathe.
Why is he here?
âIâll be right thereâ I replied to Alex.
âWhatâs wrong?â Luan asked.
I sighed.
âCome with me. Your father is hereâ I said with a cold tone as I walked away and headed to the gates.
âWhat? Heâs here?â he asked as he followed me.
âUnfortunatelyâ I said as we walked faster.
We reached the gate and I saw my men standing in line as their heads were lowered in respect.
Then thereâs also multiple guards by the black limousine that was parked by the gates.
One of the guards opened the car door and a familiar man came out.
King Luis Grey.
As soon as he came out, our eyes met.
I clenched my fists.
A mischievous smile crossed his face which sent shivers down my spine.
Then, he turned to look at Luan.
âFatherâ Luan said but the king only gavr him a nod then looked around.
âSo, this is Crescent Moon packâ he said as he looked at my men and then at me.
I didnât even bow or lower my bed to him.
But for some reason, my lack of respect for his presence didnât seem to bother him as he looked at me curiously.
âHow have you been, Liviana? â the king said.
I almost wanted to laugh.
âIâm doing wellâ¦your highnessâ I said and I saw the side of his lips rise up for a moment.
We stared at each other for a moment.
There was something about him.
The way he looks at me right now.
And the way he speaks to him.
There was something about it that bothered me a lot.
âWhat brings you here, your highness?â I managed to say.
âOh nothing. I wanted to see how my son and his mate are doingâ he said with a shrug.
I chuckled and it didnât go unnoticed by him.
âWhatâs so funny, miss Crest?â he asked pissed off.
I looked at him with an innocent smile.
âNothing, your highness. I just remembered a jokeâ I said with a smirk.
I saw how King Luisâ jaw clenched.
âWell, arenât you going to invite us in?â he said calmly.
I eyed him for a moment.
What was going inside his head?
What is he planning?
Why do I feel like something is wrong?
âWell?â the King said as he raised his brows at me.
I eyed at him.
âSure, your highnessâ I said and he smiled.
What is he up to?
âGreatâ he said.
âI want all guards and all warriors to be on high alert. And I want every single member to stay at their homesâ I mind linked Alex and Edmond.
âAlpha? Why is something wrong?â Edmond asked through the link.
âIâm not certain but Iâm not taking any chances. Now, do as I sayâ I said.
âYes, Alphaâ they replied.
We made our way back to the pack house as the king and his men followed.
For the first time in a while, I opened the pack link.
âThis is a message from your Alpha. I want anyone and everyone to stay at their homes and DO NOT go out no matter what while I havenât announced that you can go out. I repeat. Stay in your homes and do not go out. This is not a request. This is an order from your Alphaâ I announced through the pack link.
âYes, Alphaâ they answered.
We finally reached the pack house and went in.
The King sat on the couch in the living room while he was surrounded by his guards.
The King looked around.
âWould you like something to drink or eat, your highness?â I asked.
âNo needâ he said then looked at me.
âAre your parents home?â he asked.
I eyed him for a moment.
Is he joking?
Iâm sure he has done a background check on me before we even met in the party.
I felt a hand on my waist and I turned to look at Luan.
He had a worried expression on his face.
I almost forgot that he was here.
âMy parents died a long time ago, your highness. My mother died giving birth to me and my father died when he left for workâ I said.
The King looked at me for a moment.
âIs that so? How unfortunate. My condolencesâ he said but it didnât even sound sincere.
âWhat did your parents do when they were still alive?â he kept asking.
I donât know if heâs being curious or just being nosy.
âMy father didnât talk about my mother often. He avoided the topic whenever it was brought up. But I heard that she was kind and beautiful. She wouldâve made a perfect, mother if she was alive. Thatâs what my father saidâ I said as I stared straight into the kingâs eyes.
âAnd your father?â he asked.
âHe was the Alpha before me. The best Alpha this pack could ever have and the best father a daughter could have. He was an amazing leader and an even more amazing parent. He was brave, loyal, fearless and responsible. Thatâs the kind of person he wasâ I said.
And heâs alive.
âYour parents sound amazing. I wish I couldâve met themâ he said as we stared straight into each otherâs eyes.
Oh Iâm sure youâve met both my fathers.
âI wish you could have met them too, your highnessâ I lied.
Not really.
Why would I want my lovely parents to meet someone like him?
If he can go against his King and imagine capture him and hide him from civilization, I wonder what other things heâs done to be on the throne.
âLiviana, are you okay?â Luan asked through our link.
âIâm fine. You can get your hands off me and even sit with your fatherâ I replied.
âLivianaâ¦â he said.
âDonât think that weâre okay just because your father came up. Iâm still fcking pissed at you so donât you dare do anything stupidâ I warned him.
âI wonâtâ he simply replied and we cut the link.
âLiviana, I am curious about something else. It is actually the main reason why Iâm hereâ the King said as he stood up.
âActually, you remind me a lot about somebody. Somebody I know from a very long time agoâ he started as he slowly made his way to me.
Donât tell meâ¦
âYou resemble that person a lot. Specially your personality. Andâ¦your eyesâ he said as he stopped in front of me.
It canât beâ¦
âBut whatâs more interesting is that you also remind me of someone who Iâve only really met once but couldnât possibly forgetâ he said as he eyed me.
I clenched my fists.
âWhen I look at you, I see both of them in you. It was as ifâ¦you were that coupleâsâ¦childâ he said.
I couldnât breathe properly.
He knows.
He already knows.
He came closer and leaned in closer to my side.
âAm I not rightâ¦your majesty?â he whispered to my ear.
I gulped.
He chuckled and it sent shivers down my spine.
My jaw clenched as I glared at him while he had a smirk on his face.
So, he found out.
