Obviously there are some conditions to me leaving for Kaden's pack, including staying at home until the alpha ascension is complete.
Basically it's ceremony that I have to be involved in saying that I give away my claim to the Alpha position and hand it to whoever will replace me. No alpha to hand over their power, no new alpha. The ceremony has to be completed on a specific day of the month, when the moon is full and at it's highest point in the sky, so I'm staying in CrescentMoon territory for at least two weeks.
But on the bright side, Kaden has refused to leave without me, whether that's to make sure I don't go back on my promises and actually come with him, or because he wants to be near me.
I hope it's the latter.
It's been a few days, and Shiva still hasn't made an appearance. I've trained with the warriors, and I've been able to retract my claws and my teeth, but shifting into my wolf has been impossible. Without her, I can't do anything, and despite despising the fact I can't control her, I do miss her, and I do miss my wolf.
Usually it's Shiva that gets restless, and whines in my head that she needs to be let out to stretch her legs, but now I'm missing shifting, and running in the woods as my wolf.
Luckily, Sophia has presented me with an opportinty to distract myself in the form of the summer bonfire party. The summer bonfire is a werewolf thing, but recently over the years, humans have been attending but we don't really mind. Some of them are quite funny to watch, because the alcohol we have to drink is at least five times stronger than theirs because our metabolism is at least five times faster.
Watching highschoolers try to hold our alcohol is the most hilarious thing I've ever seen.
We're both in my room getting ready, and I'm struggling to pull some skinny jeans up my legs, which I'm not surprised by because I'm sure I'm a size bigger than the jeans. That's the biggest problem with having a large ass and skinny waist.
Sophia is adding the finishing touches to her makeup, and I'm pulling my plum coloured vest top over my head, when I hear a knock at the door. Sophia gives me a look, and I get up from my seated position on the floor to answer it.
"He...Kaden what are you doing here?" I open the door and fall short when I find my extremely attractive mate stood outside my room, his eyes raking all over my body. They're stuck on my cleavage, and I pull my shirt up to stop him staring.
"Where are you going?" He says darkly, his voice heavy with some form of emotion. "Looking. Like. That."
I roll my eyes and lean against more doorframe. "I'm going to the summer bonfire." I scrunch my eyebrows when I take in what he's wearing. "Where are you going?"
He's wearing dark jeans that cling to his muscular legs and a white button up tucked into them, with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, which make his arms look a lot more defined, and a lot more drool worthy. His hair is gelled neatly on his head, but his jaw is still peppered with stubble, which makes him look a hell of a lot more attractive.
Kaden growls at my response, apparently unaware of my obvious ogling, and disregards my question as if he didn't hear it. "You're not going to a party, with unmated males, dressed like that."
I lean against my doorway and raise an eyebrow. "Or what? You don't control me."
"Ooh burn!" I hear Sophia shout from behind me, and I fail to surpress my smirk. Kaden's eyes darken until they're nearly black, and he leans forward, his lips grazing my ear. "Don't push me to show you."
My skin ignites at the touch of his skin, and a fire builds up in my stomach, sending my mind haywire. The smell of his cologne sticks to the inside of my nostrils, and I control myself before I do something stupid like inhale deeply to breathe in more of him. His nose runs along my collarbone, and it takes everything inside me not to run my hands through his hair.
Then he snaps out of it like turning off a light. He pulls his head away, his jaw clenched tightly. "I'm coming with you."
"Don't you have somewhere to go?" I ask, gesturing to his outfit. "It looks importan..."
"I'm coming." He snaps, his eyes flashing red with his wolf. "And you're not leaving my side."
I send a look to Sophia, who just shrugs and continues adding another layer of mascara. "Fine, you can come, but no possessivene.."
"Be ready in ten." He interrupts before stalking down the hall and into one of the guest bedrooms.
"Well he's intense." Sophia snorts, and I can't help but agree.

The bass of the music can be felt inside Kaden's car about one hundred metres before the clearing. Smoke is ascending above the trees, casting a dark shadow on the clear sky, and hiding the moon from sight. Red sparks from the bonfire can be seen almost dancing through the gaps in the trees, creating a clear path to the clearing.
Sophia thanks Kaden for the lift before jumping out of the car and running over to her mate. He picks her up and spins her round before kissing her quickly on the lips and leading her towards the party.
I can't help but release a sigh, watching as her mate loves her and gives her more affection in five seconds than Kaden has given me in the three days we've known each other. I'm pretty sure that Sophia and Mark had sealed the bond by three days, whereas the closest I've gotten is him about half an hour ago.
I look at Kaden out of the corner of my eye and I see his knuckles white against his steering wheel. His eyes are staring at the party ahead of us, and I can see his chiselled jaw clenching. "Are you going to sit in the car, or are you going to come with me to the bonfire?"
Kaden snaps his eyes over to mine, his deep blue eyes looking nearly black in the dimming light. His gaze is running over my body, igniting a heat wherever his sight lands on my skin. "Wait here."
He unbuckles his seatbelt and slides out of his car, walking around the bonnet and opening up my car door. "Come on."
I get out of the car and walk towards the flames, feeling his presence beside me. The closer we get to the party, the more red cups are strewn across the floor. Bodies are pressed against trunks, wolves hooking up with wolves, wolves hooking up with humans as well. Drunk teenagers are stumbling in between the trees, drink sloshing over the rims of their cups.
One guy, human based on his scent, knocks shoudlers with me as he staggers about, the smell of wolfsbane beer on his breath. Kaden lets out a dangerously low growl, the sound appearing from deep inside his throat.
The second he takes a step forward, with a look on his face suggesting he's going to rip this guy's head off, I slide my hand in his and tug him towards the bonfire, trying to ignore the electricity flowing through my palm at his touch. I can see Kaden looking at our entwined hands, and I know that if he'd have wanted to he could've pulled out of my grasp and punched that frat boy into the grave.
And I can't help but smile smugly.
We step into the clearing, the heat from the bonfire licking at my face. My eyes scan the party. Most people are drinking and dancing by the bonfire, the music from the DJ booth causing small sticks and stones on the floor to bounce upward. Sophia and Mark are playing a game of chicken in the lake beside the bonfire, Sophia in a white bikini that leaves little to the imagination.
I grab a bottle of human beer from the cooler beside the DJ booth, and twist off the cap with my hands. "You're not drinking that." Kaden snaps, reaching for my bottle, but I pull it out of his reach.
"Its human beer it won't have an effect on me." I roll my eyes before slipping off my shoes and leather jacket. "Besides it's a party and I'm blending in, stop being a grinch."
I tip the bottle back and swallow it's contents whole. "Sophia, you up for a game of chicken?!"
Kaden growls and grabs my wrist. "What're you doing?!"
"Having fun." I hiss, ripping my hand from his grip. "Now are you going to be my partner, or am I going to have to ask someone else to lend me their shoulders?"
Kaden's eyes darken, red flashing in his blue eyes. "You're mine."
And then he proceeds to remove his shirt, my eyes widening at his toned chest and abs. I mean, I've seen them before, but when it's darker it just looks a hell of a lot better, with shadows casting between each defined muscle.
"Only one game." He grumbles, stalking towards the water. "Are you coming or not."
I pull my jeans off my legs and my vest over my head, revealing the blue bikini I wore underneath and I run after him to keep up with his long legs.
I see the eyes of a lot of females on my mate, most of them aren't werewolves. My pack members know I'm mated to Kaden, so keep their eyes anywhere but him. The humans however, have no idea how obvious they are, and I can smell the lust emitting from their bodies.
I know that Kaden can smell it too because he turns around and has the indecency to smirk at me. Smirk!
I can feel myself losing my temper without the help from no-show-Shiva, and I dig my claws into my palms as a way of calming myself down.
Once we get into the water, I climb on his shoulders, feeling his body tense under mine. "Kaden, grab my legs or I'm going to fall off."
He scoffs, but nevertheless places his large hands in my thighs, causing my breath to get stuck in my throat.
All I can think about now is how I want his hands all over me...
"Stop thinking what you're thinking." Kaden strains, walking out into the water until he's waist deep. "I can smell how your thoughts are making you feel, and if you don't want me to drag you back to my car and have my way with you, I suggest you concentrate on chicken."
I can feel my cheeks flame with embarrassment, but I listen to him anyway, cancelling out the lusty thoughts, and I swallow harshly before locking eyes on Sophia.
I've see her play ah least two games of chicken and she's still dry, so I send her a wicked smirk. "I hope being dry was fun while it lasted"
She laughs, her eyes flashing quickly amber because no one can see. "I'm in the final of the tournament for a reason, Lola."
"I'm not in it for a reason." I grin, just as the bell signals for us to start.
Kaden walks forward and I grab Sophia by the shoulders in an attempt to force her backwards. She too had the same idea, and we're locked in a grapple as we test our strength. Kaden is holding tightly onto my thighs, his teeth gritted as he tries to keep me steady, and Mark is doing the same.
I lose grip on one of her shoulders, my hand sliding off her bikini strap, and she pushes me with full force. Kaden staggers back but keeps me upright, and I look down at him, his icy blue eyes flashing red. "Do you think you can charge at them?"
Kaden grins devilishly, his straight white teeth on display. "Gladly."
Kaden growls and strides forward, taking both Sophia and Mark by surprise. I extend my hands and push Sophia with as much strength behind it as I can risk without alerting anyone, and send her toppling into the water behind her, Mark being dragged behind her.
"Yes!" I cheer, and instinctively kiss Kaden on the cheek. "Not bad for an alpha."
His jaw goes slack, but he quickly picks it up from somewhere in the water and grins back at me. "Not bad for a misfit, not bad at all."

Turns out, Kaden and I are quite a team. We beat everyone who decided to take us on at chicken, and I stayed dry until Kaden threw me in, submerging me in icy cold water.
Sophia found a large pile of towels, so I'm walking back to Kaden's car with it over my shoulders so my clothes don't get wet, even though the heat from just his hand on the small of my back would keep my clothes dry.
Mark took my best friend home, and I try not to put images in my head of what they'll probably be doing because it's disgusting, and because it makes me jealous. I don't want to he jealous of my best friend.
"I'm glad you enjoyed yourself." Kaden says gruffly as we walk through the wood. The light has almost completely disappeared, leaving us walking through barely lit foliage, my night vision the only reason I haven't yet walked into a tree. "It was nice seeing you relax, you have a beautiful laugh."
I'm suddenly grateful for the dim light, so he can't see my face light up like Rudolph's nose. I'm not very good at taking compliments if you haven't noticed. "You're only saying that to win you favour."
I can see his lips twitch up into an almost smile as the teasing tone of my voice doesn't go unnoticed. "You've got me, that was my plan all al.."
Suddenly Kaden is sprawled out on the floor, muttering a string of curse words under his breath. I however, am howling with laugher, bent over and clutching my knees kind of laughing. "Oh god, Kaden!"
He sends me a quick glare before turning round to see what he fell over. "What the hell?!"
He rummages around in his pockets until he finds his phone, and he flicks on the torch, illuminating the woods a few feet around us.
And a body.
A vampire by the scent, and by the needle sharp fangs that Kaden reveals when he lifts up his lip. He was around our age, with skin paler than normal, two thick slashes down the front of his arms, and a wooden stake through his heart. "What happened?!"
"It looks like he was drained of blood." Kaden whispers under his breath, running his fingers over the dirt surrounding him. "And it wasn't done here, or recently."
"Should we leave him and leave it to local county police?" I ask, my eyes unable to tear away from his all black eyes.
Kaden dusts off his jeans and stands up, running a hand through his hair. "No. Seeing him in his transformation will arouse too many questions." He shoves his hand into his pocket and tosses me the keys to his car. "Open up the trunk of my car, I'll carry him. We'll have to tell your father as soon as we get back."
I nod and jog ahead, making sure the that the trunk is open before he arrives so we can dump the body of the vampire in the back and speed off to tell my father just what we've found.
