643 Aezel's Horns Fell Off
Lawrend appeared back inside the Imperial Castle. He walked through the hallways and entered his room.
He immediately crossed his legs and meditated.
â¦
*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*
A few hours later, the door to Lawrendâs room was knocked on multiple times. He awoke from his meditation and spoke, âCome in.â
âMaster.â
Aezel was at the door. Her current appearance was drastically different compared to before.
Her iconic straight red horns were nowhere to be found. She stared at him while fidgeting her fingers.
âWhat happened?â Lawrend asked.
âMy⦠my horns fell offâ¦â
Aezel walked to him and gave him her two red horns. She looked less ferocious and cuter compared to usual.
âWhat?â
Lawrend took them and stared at the two in confusion. He lifted his head and stared at Aezelâs body. He used his Elemental Eyes and saw through the changes in her body.
âOh, youâre an Earth Mage now. At least, comparable to it,â Lawrend said.
âYes, Master. And this also happened.â
Two jet-black wings appeared behind Aezelâs shoulders. She spread them apart and black feathers fell on the floor. It seemed like they were absorbing the light from their surroundings.
âSo your transformation wasnât finished last time, huh?â Lawrend muttered.
âI think so, Master. Iâm worriedâ¦â
Aezel couldnât chuckle about this change. She was used to having her demon horns. She wouldnât be recognized anymore once she returned to the Demon World.
âAnything else?â
âThis too,â Aezel replied and a void-like halo appeared on top of her head.
At the moment, she looked like the inverse of angels. The bringer of death and chaos.
ââ¦Interesting. Call Ramiela here.â
âIâm already here, Master,â Ramiela replied and walked inside the room as if on cue.
âDo you know anything about this?â
âYes, Master. Sheâs a true Fallen angel now. She threw away her demonic bloodline and became a pure enemy of angels. I have a powerful urge to attack her right now,â Ramiela explained.
Ramielaâs blonde hair turned black, and her pure-white angel wings appeared behind her. She eyed Aezel as if she was her greatest enemy.
âCalm down. I want to know what it means to be a Fallen Angel,â Lawrend said and stood between them.
âMaster, Fallen Angels are anomalies. They donât require a god to exist, and instead of light magic, they harbor Darkness magic instead.â
âCan you use Darkness magic now?â Lawrend asked Aezel.
âDo you have a spell for me, Master?â Aezel asked.
âI donât know much about Darkness magic. Go find Aleshia.â
âI will go, Master,â Ramiela said and bowed before leaving.
Aezel looked down and turned red from shame. She rubbed her legs together and glanced at him from time to time.
âMaster, w-w-what do you think about my current appearance?â Aezel asked, full of nervousness.
âYou look cool and beautiful. You donât have to worry that I will dislike you,â Lawrend smoothly replied.
âAh⦠Fufufufu. Thank you, Master.â
Aezelâs nervous heart swiftly calmed down after hearing his reply. It made her heart beat swiftly for a different reason.
âWhat does it feel?â Lawrend asked.
âI feel more powerful compared to before. Itâs like Iâm a new person,â Aezel answered.
âNothing bad? Like lost fingers or something?â
âAh!â
Aezel panicked and swiftly checked her fingers on her hands and feet. Only after double checking did she relax.
âYou scared me, Master.â
âYour horns fell off. If there was a problem, something else mightâve fallen off,â Lawrend replied.
âMaster, Sister Aleshia is here.â
Ramiela looked inside before making way for Aleshia.
Aleshia entered the room and gawked at Aezelâs new appearance. She could feel that she was familiar but not at the same time.
âSister Aleshia,â Aezel said and looked back to her.
âSister Aezel!?â
Aleshia was stunned. She walked forward and rubbed the spot on Aezelâs head where her horns were previously popping out from.
âYou lost them?â
âYesâ¦â
Aezel furrowed her eyebrows in pain. She loved her horns and it pained her to lose them without her control.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
âMaster, what did you call me here for?â Aleshia asked.
She wore her black assassin uniform. It was obvious that she was doing some work before coming here.
âCan you give some of your Darkness Magic spells to Aezel? I want to see if she could cast Darkness magic now. I canât tell with my eyes,â Lawrend replied.
Even his Elemental Eyes couldnât tell if Aezel could use Darkness magic or not. Although he could tell that something was in her body he couldnât accurately tell what it was.
âSure. It goes like thisâ¦â
Aleshia started reciting her Beginner Darkness Magic Spell. It was simple and only blinded someone for a second.
âVision Steal!â
Aezel insta-cast the spell, and Aleshiaâs vision suddenly turned dark. Darkness mana from Aezelâs wings, halo, and body hit Aleshiaâs eyes.
âThis⦠Itâs too powerfulâ¦â Aleshia said with slight panic in her voice.
âDo you want me to help?!â Lawrend asked loudly.
âNo, Master. Itâs making me anxious, but I want to see the effects of this spell clearly.â
After ten more seconds, Aleshiaâs vision returned. She looked at Aezel with surprise in her eyes.
âAre you okay?â Aezel asked in worry.
âIâm fine. Your spell blinded me for thirty seconds. It seemed like you amplify darkness magic,â Aleshia concluded.
âJust like what the legends say. Fallen angels have the purest darkness mana in the world. Their spells are unlike the usual spells of the mortal world,â Ramiela murmured as she stared at Aezel seriously.
âIsnât that just like your light magic?â Lawrend asked.
âYes, Master. But this purity of our mana made us born to be enemies. I can sense my pure light mana swaying my emotions and thoughts,â Ramiela replied with grave concern in her voice.
âWhat do I do to make it stop?â
He was afraid that Ramiela wouldnât be able to hold back and actually attack Aezel. It would be a mess at that point.
âTake her in as your fallen angel, Master. I donât know if that would work but itâs worth it to try.â
