663 The Other Lawrend's Soul
âMasterâ¦â
Ramiela stood beside him and stared at Nephilim with excited eyes. As her mother, Ramiela didnât want to be left out at the most important moment of her daughterâs life.
Nephilim slowly opened her eyes and squinted at the blinding sun above her.
She turned to the side and looked at Lawrend and Ramiela.
âHow was it?â Lawrend asked.
âIf you feel anything wrong, tell your father quickly,â Ramiela said anxiously.
âMother, I feel better than before. I can sense light mana in the surroundings and my mind feels clearer than before,â Nephilim replied with a wide smile on her face.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
It was rare for her to smile like that. Ramiela knew that her daughter was truly happy with the outcome, so she felt happy for her too. She leaned on the mattress and embraced her.
âServe your Father well in the future. You will be his sword. Your mother doesnât have the same talent you do,â Ramiela said with a heavy tone.
She knew her limits. Since the Goddess created her, she wasnât able to become stronger. It was as if the Goddess created her at that power level and didnât give her the possibility to become stronger.
âMotherâ¦â
Nephilim wanted to deny her motherâs words, but she could tell that it was useless. Indeed, Ramiela had tried finding ways to improve but all she could do was refine her spells. It reached a point where she could almost insta-cast two spells at the same time.
âThat wonât be your limit. I will help you once I become a Heaven Mage,â Lawrend said.
He sighed at the fact that his maids all had inferiority complexes. They all thought that he would leave them one day. It was honestly depressing for Lawrend because he wanted to spend the rest of his life with them.
âThank you for the kind thoughts, My God,â Ramiela replied and smiled at him sweetly.
âStand up, Nephilim. Familiarize yourself with your magic with this spell,â Lawrend said and passed her a small piece of paper.
Written on the paper was a basic foundational light magic spell. It could have countless transformations in the future. The only limit was her imagination. If she could imagine a light dragon, she would be able to create a light dragon. That was how great that spell was.
Lawrend created it soon after finishing connecting the elements together.
âThank you, Father! I will be your sword in the future! I will help you stomp on your enemies!â Nephilim said and bowed.
She seemed to have grown for several years because of the improvement of her soul magic. Maturity was caused by greater mental development, after all.
Lawrend nodded his head and urged her to get down.
âNext, Veronica. I will be calling all of you from the order you finished. This should give enough time for the rest to contemplate the booklet more,â Lawrend said to his seven other children.
They nodded their heads and Veronica walked forward. She lay on the bed and closed her eyes.
Since Veronicaâs mana pathways werenât filled with her mana yet, it was significantly easier for Lawrend. He directly dived into her mind.
Once inside, Lawrend stopped.
He squinted his eyes and carefully approached the soul at the center.
It was the other him. The soul was still the same except for some chains wrapping around him.
âYouâre still aliveâ¦â Lawrend said with fury in his eyes.
âFather?â
Instead of Lawrendâs voice coming out from the other Lawrendâs mouth, it was Veronicaâs soft and young feminine voice. Lawrend relaxed and realized that something must be wrong.
âThis⦠How do I fix this?â Lawrend wondered to himself.
The soul in Veronicaâs body was never fully recreated. It was still the other Lawrendâs soul. Lawrend never thought that he would ever see this guy again. His hatred for him flared up again.
Lawrend floated over and touched the chains.
âHow does this feel?â Lawrend asked as he tugged on the chains.
âAhh⦠It hurtsâ¦â Veronica said with great pain.
ââThe soul is something that should not be tampered withââ¦â Lawrend repeated the Goddessâ words.
He could still remember her saying that âHeâ created it.
âIs she wrong, or is she right?â Lawrend became confused.
He thought that he was correct that the Goddess was trying to suppress him from learning soul magic, but seeing the state of Veronicaâs soul told him that it wasnât as simple as that.
âI need to ask her.â
Lawrend was nervous. He didnât want to carelessly touch Veronicaâs soul. It might kill her current personality and reawaken the old Lawrend. At that point, she would be deader than dead.
Lawrend quickly left Veronicaâs body and returned to his soul.
Everyone was confused at his quick return. It hadnât even been a few minutes yet.
Inside his body, Lawrend contacted Valentina.
âI want to meet the Goddess again,â Lawrend said to her.
âWhat?! Are you crazy, Master?! What happened inside Veronicaâs body?â Valentina curiously asked with great shock.
âThe other Lawrendâs soul is still there. Itâs simply chained. I need some advice from her on how to fix her,â Lawrend replied.
He was out of options. Except for the Goddess, he couldnât think of anyone else that could answer his question.
ââ¦â
Valentina stopped her anger and stared at Lawrend in shock. She knew about the story of how Aezel seduced Lawrend to impregnate her to give birth to Veronica and that required his soul. And instead of his soul, he offered the soul of another Lawrend.
That story puzzled Valentina when she heard it but didnât think much about it because it was already done. The situation now made her think of a possibility.
âWas that⦠really you, Master?â Valentina carefully asked.
She wasnât fully aware of Lawrendâs past. After all, the present was more important for her than the past since she experienced horrible things back during the time when she was still alive.
âHe is and he isnât. I think Iâm the soul of the real Lawrend, andâ¦
