Chapter 1351
Married at First Sight
âDo you think Camryn can marry into the Yorks even if we want her to?â
Mr. Newman said, âI donât want her to marry into the Yorks either. Although I dote on her because sheâs
my brotherâs only child, I love our son and daughter more. How could I possibly let her marry into the
wealthiest family in Wiltspoon?
âDonât think about getting Carrie to marry into the Yorks either; she doesnât stand a chance. Putting
aside everything else, the mere fact that we have a beef with Mr. and Mrs. York makes it impossible for
the other bachelors of the Yorks to like her. Carrie is only twenty, so thereâs no hurry for her to get
married now.
âWhat we need to do is to get her out first.â
Mr. and Mrs. Newman walked to the couch and sat. The latter asked, âHow do we save her? Weâve
bowed our heads and apologized, but they were all to no avail. We initially found someone who could
help mediate the situation, but it was ruined by Mr. Callum.
âDarling, will Mr. Callum recognize that man is from the Marshalls? The man is a Marshall, but heâs
their fifth cousin. If heâs identified, the Marshalls themselves will take action to punish him.
âHis family is five degrees separated from Old Mr. Marshallâs lineage; even though heâs rich, he barely
has a say in their family. Mr. Callum probably wouldnât recognize him. The Yorks are only close to the
Marshallsâ lineal descent, so they might not know anyone from the collateral kins.â Mr. Newman said,
âDonât lose your head first. In any case, when they start looking into the matter, weâll put all the blame
on the bodyguard. Make him leave Wiltspoon tomorrow.â
Mrs. Newman responded, âOkay, I got it. Tell me, how should we cling to Mr. Callum?â
âHe saved Camryn, so let Camryn repay him with her body and cling to him. The Yorks definitely
wouldnât want a daughterâinâlaw like her. When the time comes, we can discuss and say that we only
want to bail Carrie out. Once Carrie is out, we donât have to pester Mr. Callum anymore,â Mr. Newman
answered.
âThat b*tch wonât agree to help. Sheâs dying for Carrie to be sentenced. Besides, what if the Yorks
accept that little b*tch sleeping with Mr. Callum?â
Mr. Newman remarked, âSheâs blind⦠How could Mr. Callum marry her? Coax her tomorrow and stop
calling her a b*tch. You gave birth to her, after all. If you call her a b*tch, youâre saying the same about
yourself.â
Mrs. Newman pouted her mouth and said, âWhenever I see her, itâs like seeing her father. I canât help
but despise her, and I even want to kill her so she can reunite with him. I shouldnât have been soft back
then and shouldâve just killed her. She was only two years old at that time, and it wouldâve been easy to
do so.â
âI told you not to say things like that anymore. Sheâs still my brotherâs only child, and sheâs a blind girl,
so it doesnât affect us. Once Carrie is out, weâll marry her off to someone else anyhow. Everything will
be over then.â
Back then, Mr. Newman let Camryn stay because she was just a girl who would not get far and
would not be a threat to him.
Furthermore, Camryn was a daughter of the woman Mr. Newman loved the most. She looked like his
brother and his wife, so he loved her as well. Mr. Newman could not bring himself to be ruthless toward
the innocent child who would adorably call him her uncle.
âOur room has soundproofing. This house is already under our control, so why do we have to be afraid
of her eavesdropping on us? I canât wait to kill her!
âIf your little sister hadnât suddenly returned to visit ten years ago, Camryn wouldnât have been sent to
the hospital and wouldâve died long ago.
âLuckily, her eyes were damaged, and she became blind. She canât threaten us at all now.â
Ten years ago, Mrs. Newman found out that Camryn seemed to be suspecting her late ex- husbandâs
death and the girl was secretly asking around to collect evidence. That was why she did something
cruel to Camryn.
Who knew, her sisterâinâlaw came back to visit and saved Camryn.
If Camrynâs eyes were not damaged, she could not have survived.
âAlright, alright, letâs not talk about this anymore. Itâs getting late. Go remove your makeup and rest
early.â
Mr. Newman did not want to talk about the past any further. He got up and left. When he saw the cane
in the corner, he asked, âWhy is Camrynâs cane in our room?â
âI told her to come in so I could help her with her makeup, but she tried to go out with the cane, so I
kicked it away and left it here.â
Mrs. Newman walked over while she spoke. She picked up Camrynâs white cane and then walked to
the door to open it and throw the cane outside.
There were no more talks that night.
Serenity did not wake up until the sun was up.
After rubbing her eyes and stretching, she sat up but felt a headache.
