Sitting in the car, Kathrynâs neck still ached, but she found it easier to sleep, perhaps because
Pedroâs presence made her feel safe.
As long as Pedro was with her, she felt secure, no matter what challenges came their way.
Liberty often said that Pedro loved Kathryn deeply, and Kathryn had started to feel the same way
about him. Liberty had advised her not to dismiss Pedroâs feelings, and not to focus only on having
a child without considering Pedroâs role as a father, so as not to hurt him.
Regardless of what happened between Kathryn and Liberty, Libertyâs advice was meant to guide
her in love.
Kathryn had come to realize that she loved Pedro. It was hard not to fall for someone as remarkable
as him.
When Pedro noticed Kathryn had fallen asleep, he pulled over, removed his coat, and gently placed
it over her. Even with the carâs heater on, it was cold enough that she might catch a chill while
sleeping.
He watched her quietly for a moment, leaned over, kissed her softly on the cheek, then sat back up
and continued driving, taking Kathryn back to his place.
Meanwhile, Liberty and others received word from Silver Fox that Kathryn had been knocked
unconscious by Clarissa and taken away.
âI canât believe Clarissa, who cares so much for her only daughter, actually planned an escape route
for her,â Audrey remarked sarcastically.
Mrs. Queen added, âNo matter how ruthless Clarissa is, sheâs still a mother. The Farrell family has
always valued daughters over sons. She adored Shiloh, even though she wasnât her biological
daughter. Kathryn is her real daughter, and with Shiloh gone, itâs no surprise she made sure Kathryn
had a way out.â
Audrey nodded. âThatâs true. Itâs just human nature.â
If something happened to the Stone family, she would also do everything in her power to protect her
children.
Audrey then turned to Liberty. âLiberty, go back to the company now and later visit the Farrell Group.
Say you want to see Kathryn and observe how the Farrell family reacts. Theyâve likely set up a
double for her.â
Liberty replied, âTheyâll probably try to show me the double or refuse to meet me. But yes, Aunt, Iâm
heading back to the company now.â
Liberty returned to work, as if everything were normal, waiting for the Farrell family dinner later that
evening.
On her way back to the office, Liberty received a video call from Serenity. Since she had a
bodyguard driving, she could take the call without distraction.
When the call connected, she saw Sonnyâs little face. Despite everything happening in Jensburg, it
was still early, and Sonny was having breakfast.
He was happily munching on a bun shaped like an animal, one of Titusâs favorites. Whenever Titus
returned to FC Manor, the pastry chef would make these animal-shaped buns that the children
loved.
âMom,â Sonny called out sweetly when he saw Liberty, waving with his free hand.
Before Liberty could respond, he added, âMom, the buns at Titusâs house are delicious and cute.
Theyâre shaped like little rabbits. Iâm eating one now.â
Liberty smiled. âThen have a couple more, sweetheart. Make sure youâre full. Eat on your own, donât
let your aunt feed you. When I get back, Iâll make some buns for you too.â
Liberty used to run her own breakfast shop, where she baked buns, though she hadnât made them
into animal shapes before. But now, she figured it wouldnât be too hard to make some bunnyshaped
buns for Sonny.
