Raven

The wind played with his hair, brushing it against her bare skin. His violet eyes scanned her face. She wasn’t sure how long they’d been sitting there, but he didn’t seem to mind.

“I thought you liked my face,” King Soi-Ji said.

“I said I liked the scar,” Raven replied.

“And my body, if I remember correctly. You should be downstairs at the party,” King Soi-Ji said.

“I came for—”

“The summer wine.” He grinned. “You’re not slurring your words. That’s a rare sight.”

“Let’s change that,” she said, reaching for the bottle.

Before she could take a sip, he grabbed it and drank deeply, then again. He held her chin and pressed his lips to hers.

The warm liquid flowed into her mouth as his hand tangled in her hair. His touch left a trail of fire.

He licked his lips. “More?”

“Just a bit,” she said.

Her heart pounded as he leaned in again. This time there was no wine, but he still tasted sweet. The cool breeze did nothing to quell the heat between them.

She couldn’t figure out why he felt so familiar. She’d felt it even the other night when they spoke. He was still an asshole, but lately, she’d found it oddly charming.

Her thoughts drifted to Arenk, Laro, and Dhol. Then guilt washed over her. They seemed to have moved on. Why couldn’t she? What harm could it do to have the king on her side?

“Should I stop?” he asked.

“No,” she said, unbuttoning his shirt.

This was the first time she’d really looked at him. Scars marked his chest and stomach. She traced them with her fingers, then kissed the one over his heart.

King Soi-Ji’s body shivered, and with a hungry look, he gripped her backside. He found the slit in her dress and reached inside.

Hooking his finger on the thin fabric, he pulled until the soft sound of tearing filled the air.

“This will be our first time sober,” he said.

“How many times have you taken advantage of me?”

His brows knitted together. “I didn’t have much say in our encounters. But I will say, you were very persuasive. I didn’t do anything unless you asked for it.”

“What did I ask for?”

He leaned close to her ear, sending a shiver down her spine.

“If I told you that, it would spoil the surprise,” he said.

That shiver shot straight to her thighs, making her squeeze them together. He groaned at her grip and slipped a hand between them. His fingers traveled down her body and found her ready.

He smiled. “Your body remembers very well.”

King Soi-Ji tore the dress at the slit until it joined his pants and her underwear on the floor. He slid her to the edge of the table, and something hard pressed against her.

She couldn’t tell where it began or ended. That made her nervous. He took her hands and placed them on his underwear.

“Pull,” he said.

Her heart raced as she pulled. The lower the fabric went, the more he was revealed. His underwear was halfway down when the rest of him sprang free. He was as thick as her forearm.

She couldn’t believe he could walk upright with that thing hanging from his body.

His breathing quickened. “What’s wrong?”

“This table is hard,” she said.

King Soi-Ji scooped her up in his arms and headed for the elevator.

“What are you doing? We’re naked,” she said, trying to climb down.

“No one will see us. Everyone is downstairs at the party,” he said, holding her tight.

She sighed in relief when the doors to his office opened. He carried her to the adjoining bedroom and laid her on the bed.

“Better?”

“Yes,” she said.

It was more intimidating from this angle. At least on the table, she had a bird’s eye view of the beast. He climbed onto the bed and stroked her cheek.

“Do you know why I named you, Rize-Ji?” he asked.

“No.”

“My name means slayer in our ancient language and yours, destroyer, but together, it means rising sun,” he said.

Raven’s heart swelled. She hadn’t thought he put so much thought into her name. Was this his game with all the women?

“A war could easily break out with misplaced words.” She smiled.

“It was better then. Words had weight, and you knew a person meant what they said.” He kissed her.

Using the momentum, he pushed her onto the mattress. He kissed her neck, sending sparks through her body. The tip of him nudged her entrance, and she tensed up.

“Relax,” he said, easing forward.

He was stretching her with just the tip. King Soi-Ji took his time, loosening her up with short, slow strokes. His hands massaged her breasts in rhythm.

A soft moan escaped her lips as he went deeper. Pleasure began to blend with pain. She pushed against his chest.

“Too deep.” She gasped.

“Relax, it’ll pass. I’m larger than most,” he said, pushing deeper.

Her nails dug into his chest, and he growled, quickening his pace. His chest pressed against hers, giving him better access. The head of his cock hit her womb, making her squeal.

The pain faded, but something was building. Whatever it was left her speechless; her mouth hung open in a silent scream. He lifted his head and looked at her.

“E kai ju, Rize-Ji,” he whispered.

She didn’t know what that meant, but his expression told her it was something special. A confession. With his admission, he set about his task with renewed vigor.

“Do you like it?” he asked.

His sweet voice was replaced with his authoritative one. She nodded.

“Speak.”

“Yes,” she moaned.

“Speak my name,” he demanded.

“King—”

“No. Not the title. Just my name,” he clarified.

“Soi-Ji,” she whispered.

Her sight began to waver, and a powerful need to urinate surged. She attempted to suppress it.

“Once more.”

“Soi-Ji,” she moaned.

He parted her legs to their limit and offered no respite. She couldn’t hold back any longer and dampened the sheets beneath them. King Soi-Ji didn’t halt, even as his body trembled.

At last, he let go deep inside her, clutching her close.
