I pulled up in front of a black gate, where his house sat behind. You wouldn't think a house would be back there, for the simple fact you didn't see anything but trees like you were in a forest.
He put in the code and when the gate began to it open I pulled up in his long circular driveway and cut my car off.
We sat there for about thirty more minutes talking about random things until I decided to change the subject.
"You have a nice house and cars. How many bedrooms is it?"
It was a nice tan house with a four car garage.
"Enough for me and our family."
I gave him the evil eye, and looked at him with a straight face.
"I'm serious."
"Im serious to, but it's eight bedrooms and seven and a half bathrooms."
"Dam- Dang that's a lot of rooms."
"Yup. Wanna come in andâ see the inside?"
He was looking at me with the most sexiest smile and his dimples were sinking into his Carmel skin, that was glowing. But I had to kindly decline the offer.
"Maybe another time I have to make another stop."
"Ok."
His face showed a little disappointment, but I still wasn't to sure of him. I know we just got done having lunch, but we were in public.
"Maybe another time. We have to go pay a visit to our mother."
"Oh I understand."
I gave him a small smile. I bet he doesn't know what it's like to lose your only parent, that took care of you while you father decided to leave unannounced one day.
"Sooooo now what?"
"So can I get your number now?"
I handed him my phone and he put his number in and kissed my forehead.
"I texted myself so I'll call you later on. Is that ok?"
"We'll see."
Just then his phone vibrated, and he smiled.
"Alright boo see you later."
He turned around to say bye to Terrell, but changed his mind because he was sleeping.
"Alright. I enjoyed lunch and talking to you."
"Same here can'tâ wait to do it again."
"I'll see about that. New friend."
"Very funny, but I have an idea. Wanna join me this Sunday for a family dinner?"
"Uhhhhhh."
From going to a stranger a few hours ago to becoming a new friend should I really take up on his offer?
For all I know he could be crazy, and he could take us over there and we wouldn't make it back out alive. I guessed he sensed that I was going to reject about his offer.
"It's ok if you don't wanna go I understand."
"I'll go, I have nothing else to do. But don't try nothing cause I'm crazy."
I agreed because this would be a new experience, plus I think we've been in the house to much.
"It isn't bad to go and explore is it?"
I thought to myself thinking of what I just got myself into.
"You sure? And I'm not crazy."
"Positive. And sure you aren't."
He stared at me for a couple seconds, before speaking.
"Ight then I'll just call and remind you."
"Soundsâ like a plan."
"Alrighty then."
"Bye."
He got out the car and made his way to his door, once I seen he made it in I pulled down his driveway waiting for the gate to open.
Before going home I went to where our mother's grave was, it was only around four o'clock. I got Terrell out of his car seat an put a blanket over him even though it was pretty warm outside.
I locked the doors with the alarm and walked to where I last remembered her being. Once I found her I sat down with Terrellâ in my arms and started talking to her like she was going to respond.
"Hey Mom it's us again. We've been doing good, Terrell is getting bigger as the weeks prolong. Im considering quitting my job at the strip club, since Ms. Renee is having health problems, and I don't have a babysitter anymore.
Plus I got money saved up so we should be straight for a good year or two. Im also going to continue school online, so I can spend more quality time with Terrell. He's very active only to be four mont-"
"Blah blah." Terrell interrupted me while I was talking, I looked down and he was smiling looking at the picture of out mom on her headstone.
"I uh kinda remet with a new friend when we went to go and visit Ms. Renee in the hospital. His name is Shamar, he's a lawyer and he asked if we would join him for Sunday dinner and I said yes. Since we have nothing else to do."
The sun can out from behind the clouds for a couple seconds and then went back to normal.
"Well that was weird."
I said as I looked up to the sky.
Terrell talked in his baby language for a hour or so before I got up and decided it was time for us to leave.
Fifteen minutes later we made it home. I walked upstairs to my bathroom and stripped out my clothes then did the same for Terrell. I made a bath and put some soap so there would be bubbles.
I filled it up halfway before I decided to turn the water off and get in.
"I love you Terrell. Your my everything, and I can't wait until you talk so I won't be talking to myself all the time."
He looked at me and put his hands on my lips. I opened them pretending to bite them.
All you heard was his laughs throughout the bathroom. I smiled at him and started thinking about him getting older.
"Am I really ready for him to get older? I like him being a baby better."
I got snapped outta my thoughts by his gold bracelet on his right wrist yanking my hair.
"Owch."
He kept doing it an laughed.
"That's not funny."
I untangled my hair outta the bracelet the best I could with one hand, while making sure not to drop him, in the water.
Once I got it untangled he started crying, so I washed him up and put him a diaper and a t-shirt on, and put him in his little crib then quickly walked back in the bathroom to shower.
Once I got out I dried off and put lotion on, then put some panties on to go under my spandex shorts and a sports bra. I carefully picked Terrell up and headed back downstairs to make him a body and something for me to eat.
