Chapter 256
Marrying the Man in the Dark
Chapter 256 Arenât You Coming In
The girl pursed her lips in embarrassment. âI donât think thatâs nice, is it?â
A restaurantâs heart and soul consisted of its chefs. Wouldnât Damien make things difficult for the
restaurant if he took a chef home with them?
âNonsense.â
âI can take home anything you like.â
Cherise blushed.
âItâs. Itâs alright.â
Cherise smiled awkwardly. âSusanâs cooking is quite delicious.â
After that, she coughed lightly and changed the subject. âHoney, you said there were two reasons.
Whatâs the other reason?â
âYour friend seems to be interested in Lennon.â
Damien unshelled a shrimp for her delicately. âCanât you tell?â
Cherise was astonished. She laughed slightly embarrassedly. âMy attention was focused on the foodâ¦â
Damien shook his head in exasperation. âGreedy girl.â
As he spoke, he stuffed the unshelled shrimp into her mouth..
Cheriseâs cheeks puffed with food..
When she finished chewing and swallowed everything, she took a deep breath. Her voice was soft and
sweet. âDarling, Lucy told me just now that she might know Lennon from before.â
âAfter that, she said she was mistaken.â
As Damien unshelled a shrimp, his hands froze.
âLennon hasnât returned in so many years. How would she know him?â
âUnlessâ¦â
The man furrowed his brows. The scene of the little girl standing outside the operating theater entrance
appeared before his eyes.
The little girl had secretly stood by the entrance since Lennonâs kidney replacement surgery
started.

Back then, Damien had asserted to everyone else that he was blind, so he could only send Mr.
Hampson to ask the girl.
âMy My mom passed away. That boyâs kidney is my momâsâ
The little girl blinked, and her eyes were pleading âI want to see what he looks like. Can I?â
Damien narrowed his eyes slightly and looked up at Cherise âLucyâs parents.
Cherise pursed her lips and wiped her mouth. âShe only has a dad. She doesnât have a mom.â
The two people outside had yet to return even after Cherise finished eating two chicken legs.
Cherise stroked her full tummy. âWhy havenât they returned? Arenât they hungry?â
If Iâm not mistaken, they didnât eat lunch either, right?
Damien smiled. âThey wonât come in unless you go out and look for them.â
Cherise was confused. âWhy?â
The man chuckled and kissed her soft cheek. âTheyâll think weâre being indecent here.â
Cherise was momentarily stunned before she came to her senses.
The girlâs face flushed abruptly.
She immediately rose and walked out of the private room in enormous strides.
Lennon was standing in the corner of the corridor outside the private room and smoking.
Meanwhile, Lucy sat on a chair on the other side and played games on her cell phone.
The two were very far apart. There were no sparks between them, contrary to what Damien had said.
Cherise flattened her lips and dragged Lucy back into the private room.
At the entrance, Lucy turned to look at Lennon. âArenât you coming in?â
Lennon never expected Lucy to speak to him first.
The man paused. âIâll come in later.â
The girl pursed her lips. Her gaze finally fell on the cigarette in Lennonâs hands.
She almost instinctively walked over, snatched the cigarette from him, threw it on the floor, and
stomped on it to extinguish it.
Under Lucy and Lennonâs astonished gazes, Lucy entered the private room without turning

around. âSmoking is bad for your health.â
âGood health is a privilege. Donât take it for granted.â
Lennon was taken aback. He had a dark, gloomy, ambiguous gaze as he sneered. âItâs none of your
business.â
