Chapter 276
Marrying the Man in the Dark
Chapter 276 Why Should I Bluff Them
âCherryâ
Even Lucy felt sorry for her best friend.
âLetâs go.â
Cherise looked at Mandy and said, âI wonât be going to Viopril Palace tonight. I donât have a fond
memory of that place. If youâre buying a meal at New World Restaurant next time, I might
consider it.â
After all, Cherise loved the chicken drumstick there.
Mandy narrowed her eyes. âSure. Why donât we change the location to New World Restaurant tonight,
then?â
âSounds good.â
Cherise yawned and checked the message from Damien. âBut I need to go home and change first.â
Then, she led Lucy away and asked her, âDo you need to go home and change? I can give you a ride.â
After they left. Jessie sneered, âHow is she gonna give Lucy a ride when sheâs taking public transport?â
âPlease donât say that.â
Mandy frowned and texted Mr. Kolson, urging him to get to the school gate. She pressed her lips
nonchalantly. âAfter all, Cherise is Damienâs wife. She wonât let herself suffer. Why donât we check it
out?â
Crossing her arms, Jessie smirked at the other classmates. âCome, Letâs go and check out how our
class representative is going home!â
Damienâs message mentioned he would arrive in ten minutes. When Cherise reached the gate, there
were six more minutes, according to Damienâs estimated arrival time.
Lucy furrowed her brows when she noticed Mandy and their classmates approaching them. âHow
annoying! Why are they following us?â
Cherise was calm. âItâs normal for everyone to come to the school gate to wait for their transport.â
Lucy pouted. She was rendered speechless by this slow-witted woman.
She clenched her teeth and held Cheriseâs hand. âYou said you can give me a ride home. Youâre not
bluffing them, are you?â

Previously. Mr. Koison would drive Cherise to and from school with the black Maserati. But now. both
the driver and the car were lent to Mandy! So, Lucy thought Cherise must be taking the public bus now
and purposely made that statement to save face.
Cherise glanced at her in perplexity. âWhy should I bluff them? I can give you a ride home.â
Since Damien had time to pick Cherise up from school, she reckoned he would agree to give Lucy a
ride, too.
Frowning, Lucy drew close to Cherise and asked in a low voice, âDid Damien arrange for another car to
pick you up?â
Cherise hesitated briefly and nodded. âI guess you can say so.â
âOh well, he hasnât lost his conscience.â Lucy crossed her arms and inwardly forgave Damien.
âWoah! Is that the car Damien lent Mandy?â
âThe Maserati looks so cool!â
âOh my gosh! Itâs my first time seeing such an expensive car, and itâs a limited edition!â
Suddenly, a few girls started exclaiming behind them. Lucy and Cherise instinctively looked back and
saw the black Maserati, which used to pick up Cherise, stopped steadily in front of Mandy.
Mandyâs cheeks flushed as the others gazed at her in envy. âYou guys are exaggerating. Dame always
has good taste.â
âThatâs true!â
Jessie commented complacently, âMr. Lenoir might be blinded sometimes, but his taste is still good
when he regains his senses.â
