Chapter 311
Marrying the Man in the Dark
Chapter 311 Cozy Up with Me Instead
Rodneyâs message couldnât have been more straightforward.
Lucy frowned, gently pushed his arm off her, and was about to speak up, but when she locked eyes
with Lennon at the other end of the couch, her refusal remained unsaid.
She took a deep breath and said. âYeah, itâs okay; Rodney and I can make do for one. night.â
Anyway, Lucy figured either Rodney or her could take the bed, the other the floor. She was confident
Rodney wouldnât dare try anything; even if he did, she could handle it.
Cherise hesitated and then suggested, âYou know, you could let Jacob and Lennon share a room, and
you can bunk with Mandy. Thereâs no needâ¦â
Lucy replied firmly, âBecause heâs my boyfriend,â avoiding Lennonâs gaze and flashing a sweet smile at
Rodney.
Rodney chimed in smugly, âExactly!â
He playfully pulled Lucy along and gestured toward a room. âIs this our room?â
His hand was on the doorknob, but a figure darted past before he could open it.
Lennon grabbed Lucyâs arm, asking, âAre you in such a hurry to sleep with him?â
Lucy sneered, locking eyes with Lennon. âWhat has it got to do with you?â
Rodney wasnât happy either. He shoved Lennon aside, âDude, do you have a problem?â
âLet me get this straight. You came by the river, knocked over my girlfriendâs drink, and now youâre
saying we canât be in the same room together.â
âAre you suggesting that if she canât stay with me, she should shack up with you!?â
Rodney gave a stronger shove, but Lennon held his ground.
A sinister grin crept onto Lennonâs face as he locked eyes with Lucy. âIn that case, you come and sleep
with me instead!â
Lennon pulled Lucy along, his tone firm as he said, âCome on!â
Lucy struggled to break free from his grip, but her efforts were in vain. âLet go of me!â
âNot happening!â Lennon was resolute. âIf youâre so eager to cozy up with a guy, then
1/3
up with me instead!â
The entire villa fell into a profound silence.
Cherise, Mandy, and Jacob stood in shock, mouths hanging open. Rodney was thoroughly bewildered.
Lucy furrowed her brow and forcefully pushed his hand away. âHave you lost your mind?â
âIâm only in a normal relationship, and somehow that makes me a lowlife, huh? You turned down my
feelings for you, and now Iâm..â
Her words trailed off as she looked at Lennon, grinding his teeth, his eyes blazing with intensity.
Lucy stared at him, her eyes moist with despair and sadness. âIâm so over this! I really donât know what
you want anymore!â
âIâve had plenty of guys try to win me over. I never paid them any mind.â
âBut I like you. I confessed my feelings, wanting to be with youâ¦â
She sniffled but ultimately didnât bring up the kidney issue.
Tears welled up in her eyes as she ground her teeth. âYou trampled my feelings for you, and it opened
my eyes to appreciate whatâs right here.â
She threw a glance at Rodney in the distance. âNow that Iâve moved on from you and cherished the
one who genuinely cares for me. Iâve taken this relationship seriously, thinking maybe Rodney, like me,
is a bit of a love fool⦠Just because you couldnât reciprocate my feelings doesnât mean I canât give him
what he wants, right?â
âBut⦠Why canât you just leave me alone? On what groundsâ¦â
âBut why⦠How come you always ruin my plans?â
During her initial date with Rodney, Lennon went as far as hanging up Rodneyâs call, cornered her
against the wall, and made sure she wouldnât meet Rodney. He even warned. her not to act rashly and
later regretted it. Who did he think he was?!
On her second date with Rodney, they visited a bar to meet Rodneyâs friends. Lennon threw punches
at Rodney and his friends and forcibly took her away.
On their third date, Rodney whisked her away to the remote countryside far from Lennon to prevent
potential disruptions.

Lucy had high hopes that this time, everything would go according to plan.
