Chapter 401 Drop The Lawsuit
Damien had been and was good to her.
But sheâ¦

âItâs not your fault!â Zachary took a deep breath, his eyes locked onto hers. âI promise you, Elvis wonât
end up in prison or die. But you need to keep yourself together now.â
âThink about it. What else does Damien have left now?â
âWhy doesnât he want to meet his sister? Do you really think Damien is unaware of what happened
back then?â
âHeâs avoiding his own sister for your sake.â
âIf you also walk away because of baseless lies, what will he have left?â
âHeâs let go of his hatred and is trying to move on with his life for you. If you canât do the sameâ¦â
âThen, you donât deserve him!â
Zacharyâs rapid words left Cherise completely stunned.

Tears still clung to her cheeks, but Cherise was determined not to shed any more. Zacharyâs stern
reprimand had left her feeling somewhat dazed.
Zachary gritted his teeth and bellowed, âMandy, Blake, get in here!â
Startled by his loud voice, Mandy, who had just finished packing, hurried into the room with her
backpack.
Meanwhile, in the study room, Cherise had become a weeping wreck.
Zachary pushed Cherise towards Mandy, âTake her to Damienâs carâ
Mandy hesitated, almost mentioning that Damien wasnât waiting outside. However, when she caught
the manâs gaze, she felt a twinge of apprehension and refrained from asking questions. She swiftly,
with the assistance of Blake and Mr. Kolson, guided Cherise out of Wool Manor.
After all the commotion, only Zachary and Maeve remained in the study.
The room hung heavy with an unsettling silence and tension. Maeve wheeled himself to the window,
observing the tree shadows swaying in the breeze outside.

âWhy bother helping them? Separating them would only serve your interests.â
There was a hint of contempt in Macveâs voice. âI heard that Arielâs condition for you was granting the
headship of the Miles family to anyone who brings her daughter back.â
Turning to face Zachary with her cold gaze, she said, âDonât tell me you have no interest in becoming
the head of the Miles family.â
âYouâve been on a wild goose chase looking for Cherise for over a year. If you didnât intend to marry
her, why go to such lengths to find her?â
âNow that youâve found her, youâre not making any moves to win her over, but instead, youâre trying to
make her reconcile with my brother.â
Maeve shook his head in exasperation. âIâve never seen anyone as foolish as you. You know, we could
have formed an alliance.â
âI donât need to team up with someone like you,â Zachary said, crossing his arms and leaning against
the door with a cold expression. âIâll achieve what I want through my own efforts. I donât need to depend
on a hideous freak like you.â
A flicker of anger crossed Maeveâs face. âWho are you calling a âhideous freakâ!?â
âYou! Your actions are nothing short of monstrous, and you certainly look the part,â Zachary
commented indifferently.
Maeve, her patience running thin, asked, âWhy are you here?â
Zachary let out a yawn. âBy the way, I didnât come here today to watch a Lenoir family soap opera.â
âThen, why did you come?â
âFor you to drop the lawsuit.â He raised his hand, pointing his finger at Maeve. Iâm talking about
Elvis Shawâs case.â
âHe holds great importance for our family head.â
âSo, you must retract the lawsuit. Otherwise, it will lead to a confrontation with the Miles family.â
Maeve held onto the wheelchairâs armrests tightly. âWhy go through all this trouble to bring back a
bodyguard whoâs now worthless to the Miles family
âLaws exist everywhere, and every family has its own code of conduct.â
âHeâs let our family head down, so itâs our family headâs duty to decide his fate.â
