Chapter 418
Marrying the Man in the Dark
Chapter 418 Daughter Of Miles And Tanner.
Cherise nervously bit her lip, her worry evident. âBut Iâm still afraid, Iâ¦
âIâll study with you, alright?â Damien lifted her up and gently placed her on the desk, planting a soft kiss
on her earlobe. âHereâs the deal-Iâll quiz you on the bookâs contents. If you canât answer correctly, Iâll
give you a chance to continue studying and another test in the evening
âIf you still canât answer correctly on the second test⦠let me do it ten times. Does that sound fair to
you?â
Cheriseâs face instantly turned crimson. âYou⦠youâ¦â
âThis way, youâll be motivated.â The man smirked as he kissed her and added, âTen times for each
question. Letâs see, I wonder how much practice Iâll get tonightâ¦â
âIâm going to study!â The young girl hurriedly moved to the floor, gathering her books. She retorted,
âYou rascal! I have an exam tomorrow, and youâre thinking about these things!â
Although Damien often teased Cherise for not being exceptionally bright, when it came to studying, she
was genuinely quite adept. She had diligently sat in the study throughout the afternoon, committing all
the bookâs content to memory.
After dinner, Damien settled on the studyâs carpet, holding her class notes. He started a series of
quizzes.
Cherise reclined with her head resting on his thigh, stifling yawns as she answered all the questions
with utmost accuracy. Not a single mistake, not a single omission.
Damien was mildly astonished. He reached out, pinching her fair cheek. âYou have such an impressive
memory.â
âMm.â Cherise nodded proudly. âNot only is my memory remarkable, but Iâm also exceptionally skilled in
calculation and logic.â
She blushed a little, her lips pursed. âBut I still struggle to understand things sometimes..â
âMy teacher always said that I had a natural aptitude for learning. Butâ¦â She pressed her lips. together.
âI aspire to be an outstanding cardiac surgeon, and simply relying on a strong learning capacity wonât
be enough.â
Cherise sighed, her tone carrying a hint of sadness. âIâm only a freshman, and I havenât delved deeply
into many specialized subjects yet. Iâm nervous about what lies ahead.â With that, the young girl took a
deep breath and resumed reading her books.
Damien wore a faint smile. âYouâll become an exceptional cardiac surgeon. After all, she was the
daughter of Charisaa Miles and Beckham Tanner.
*Thank you, Iâll strive for it!â Cherise beamed and nodded, then returned to her studies.

The following day was the final exams. Frances woke up early to prepare a special, extravagant
breakfast for Cherise.
Blake watched as Frances arranged a spread of delicious dishes in front of Cherise and asked, âWhy is
her breakfast so much more extravagant than mine?â
âBecause Miss Cherise has an exam today!â Frances beamed and playfully tapped Blakeâs head.
âToday is especially important, so Miss Cherise needs to enjoy a hearty meal to perform well!â
âI want it too.â Blake persisted eagerly.
Helplessly, Cherise pushed her breakfast towards Blake and said. âYou can have anything you like.â
The boyâs eyes lit up. âReally!?â
âAbsolutely!â Cherise grinned and nodded.
âThank you!â The boy promptly moved Cheriseâs food to his side and eagerly began to dig into
the feast.
âMiss Cherise, thisâ¦â Frances appeared somewhat sheepish. âShould I fetch moreâ¦
âItâs fine.â Cherise smiled at Frances. âItâs just an exam; thereâs no need to overindulge. Are you not
afraid Iâll have a stomach ache in the exam room?â
