Chapter 537
Marrying the Man in the Dark
Chapter 537 Do You Have an Answer?
âBut itâs easy to hail a cab here,â Cherise said.
âMr. Lenoir, please leave and get a cab to the hospital. It wonât cost you more than fifty.â
âIâm heading home, so the hospital is not on my way.â
Damien furrowed his brow. âIâm not going to the hospital.â
âYour sister is at the hospital. Arenât you going to visit her?â
âI want to go to your place.â
Damien glanced at her. âDidnât you say you married Zachary?â
âI wish to visit Zachary and your home and catch up with him. Thatâs not too much to ask, right?â
Cheriseâs fingers tightened on the steering wheel. Her knuckles were turning white, âToday isnât a good time. Moreover, Zachary isnât keen on
seeing you.â
âIs that so?â
Damien Lenoir crossed his arms and reclined into the leather seat, âWhy donât you call Zachary? Iâll ask him myself.â
Cherise lost her temper.
âDamien!â
She gritted her teeth. Her eyes widened with fury. âCan you stop being so childish?â
âWe share a history, but that was five years ago!â
âPeople change in five years!â
âEven if you remain the same, Iâve changed!â
www
âHave you forgotten why we separated five
years ago?â
âYou insisted your father never assaulted my mother, and he was falsely accused.â
âMeanwhile, I believed my mom wouldnât lie, and your dad got what he deserved.â
Cherise inhaled deeply, adjusted her glasses, and stared fiercely at Damien. I still stand by my motherâs judgment, just like I did back then.â
âSo, we should be sworn enemies.â

âThe fact that I can face you calmly and invite you to my fatherâs place for dinner shows tremendous generosity on my part.â
âHowever, if you wish to visit my home, meet my husband, and maintain further contact with me, Iâll have to ask you this. Do you have an
answer to what happened back then?â
Damienâs eyes gradually dimmed.
Charisa handled the incident thoroughly and eliminated almost everyone connected to it.
There was no witness or evidence.
At last, even Charisa, the victim and the final witness of the incident, succumbed to her condition and passed away five years ago.
Therefore, Damien failed to unearth evidence to prove his fatherâs innocence and show that Charisa was wrong.
âYou have no answer, right?â
Cherise regarded him with a knowing glance. âSince you have no answer, please leave the car.â
âWe were former friends at the most. Our relationship is merely that of a patientâs family member and a doctor.
âI prefer some distance between us. Please leave.â
Damien closed his eyes and heaved a deep sigh.
In the end, he opened the door and stepped out.
The red BMW sped along the highway.
Ten seconds later, Mr. Kolson pulled up beside Damien in a black Bentley. âMr. Lenoir, should we follow her?â
âSure.â
Damien sighed softly. He opened the door and entered the car.
Cheriseâs car did not travel very fast.
Thus, Mr. Kolson soon caught up with it.
Cheriseâs car circled the city for a while before entering a residential community in the city
center.
Mr. Kolson followed her car into the residential community.
The red BMW eventually pulled up in front of a villa.

The villa door swung open just as Cherise was about to exit the car.
Two children, one dressed in black while the other in white, ran out of the villa.
A little girl in a white frilly dress was leading the way. She had sparkling eyes and was the spitting image of Cherise.
