Marrying the Man in the Dark
Chapter 682 Bearing The Lenoir Or Shawâs Name?
âJust so you know, my Mommy isnât married to Mr. Lenoir yet,â Soren declared firmly. âSince thatâs the case, we
can only use our motherâs surname. Even if they get married, changing our names isnât mandatory!â
A slight scoff escaped his lips. âI havenât known anyone but my mother since I was born. Iâve only known Mr. Lenoir
for less than a month and refuse to change my name for a man I barely know! Letâs put this discussion to rest.â
Maeve was caught off guard, unsure of how to respond. âButâ¦â
âIf you insist on bringing this up again, we might have to consider jumping off the plane!â Soren threatened, his
tone leaving no room for negotiation.
Maeve was surprised by his strong reaction.
Observing the two children, Damien exhaled a sigh of resignation. âMaeve, please stop bringing this up again.â
With that, he moved to Serafinaâs side and joined her in watching the clouds drift by.
Maeve felt a pang of disappointment. Her suggestion was solely intended for Damienâs benefit. Ideally, if Soren and
Serafina had reconciled with their own biological father, they should have recognized their lineage and at least
allowed people to know that they belonged to the Lenoir family.
However, not only did Cherise and the children reject her proposal, but even Damien. declined!
âItâs alright,â Charles said, taking her hand. âDamien and Cherise have their own reasons. They have their own
lives, and we shouldnât interfere.â
Maeve pursed her lips, leaning against Charlesâs chest in disappointment. âIf Dad and Mom were here, they would
have said the same thing.â
âShh, Charles said gently, covering her mouth. âEnough.â
âThe longstanding resentment between Cherise and Damien stems from the previous generation. Why bring them
up?â
Maeve pouted, finally falling silent.
The plane continued for five hours, finally touching down at the Adania airport at two oâclock in the afternoon.

Tristan and a young girl dressed in jeans and a white T-shirt were there to greet them.
Clad in a black suit, Tristan stood at the exit with several bodyguards.
As Damien and the others emerged, he quickly directed the bodyguards forward.
Some pushed the bed while others handled the luggage.
Another bodyguard knelt down and asked Serafina, âLittle princess, would you like a ride?â
Serafinaâs eyes lit up as she gazed at Cherise. âMommy, that uncle is so tall! I want toâ¦â
âNo,â Cherise replied with a frown.
Disappointment clouded the little oneâs face. âBut Mommyâ¦â
Damien, unable to resist her pleading eyes, finally relented. He turned to Cherise with a reassuring smile. âDonât
worry, you can trust him.â
As soon as his words left his lips, Serafina was already perched upon the burly bodyguardâs shoulders.
Standing nearly two meters tall, the man carefully steadied himself, his hands firmly supporting Serafinaâs back.
âHold on tight, little princess!â he said loudly.
âWheeee! Iâm flying!â the little girlâs joyous laughter echoed throughout the airport, spreading contagious cheer.
Soren watched with his arms crossed. After a while, he turned to Damien and said, âI want to
do that too.â
Damien was momentarily surprised. He quickly waved his hand to call another bodyguard
over.
âI donât want them,â the little boy pouted. âI want you. Squat down!â
Damien, taken aback by the unexpected request, hesitated. He hadnât expected Soren not to despise him.
After a moment, he regained his composure and walked over to his son, squatting before him.
Soren climbed onto his fatherâs neck, holding his head, and said coolly. âLetâs go!â
While Soren tried to suppress his emotions, Damien could still hear the excitement in his
Voice.
