Marrying the Man in the Dark
Chapter 694 A Job At The Adania Medical Research Institute.
Cherise and Damien decided to postpone their planned outing until the following week after the incident that
occurred yesterday.
Damien would be occupied with his business matters, while Cherise would be fully
engrossed in her new job. Their children also expressed the need for some time to adjust to their new surroundings.
On the second day in Adania, Cherise reached out to the doctor recommended by the director of Lermille Hospital.
âAre you Dr. Shaw?â she asked.
The doctor on the other end responded eagerly, âYouâve finally contacted us!â
We represent the Adania Medical Research Institute. We were thrilled when Dr. Keeples recommended you. We
didnât expect you to reach out to us!â
Cherise was taken aback and stammered, âYou mean⦠your institute is in Adania?â
âYes, indeed!â
The doctor on the other end of the line responded amiably, âDr. Shaw, would you available for an interview?â
âIf youâre out of town, we can certainly waitâ¦â
âThereâs no need for that.â
Cherise hummed with excitement, âI can make it this afternoon.â
Cherise arrived promptly at two oâclock in the afternoon.

The instituteâs director, Dr. Penn, warmly greeted her, âDr. Shaw, Dr. Keeples has spoken highly of your
accomplishments and experience in the medical fieldâ¦â
âToday, we have invited you here to familiarize yourself with our institute. If you have no objections, we can
proceed with finalizing the contract,â Dr. Penn stated, catching Cherise off guard momentarily.
âAlright.â
She was visibly excited but composed and asserted, âYou should review my records before making a decision to
hire me.â

âI am not a conventional doctor; my past may potentially cause complications in the future.â
âI understand, I understand!â
Dr. Penn smiled gently, âIâm not concerned.â
âAll I know is that Dr. Shawâs contributions to the medical field far surpass those of her peers, and thatâs what I
value.â
âAs for the past you mentioned, I donât believe itâs true; hence, it doesnât bother me.â
Cherise was initially taken aback, but eventually, she was persuaded by Dr. Penn and signed
the contract.
Finding a boss who appreciates and understands you is even rarer in a world where good job opportunities are
scarce.
Cherise felt this opportunity was too good to pass up, so she signed the contract.
âDr. Penn.â
The secretary rushed over as Cherise left, impressed, and exclaimed, âYou did an amazing job convincing her with
just a few words!â
âIâll inform Mr. Lenoir right away! Our instituteâs funding will undoubtedly double next year!â
Dr. Penn nodded and said, âGo ahead.â
âBut Dr. Penn.â
The secretary glanced at Cherise again and fretted, âA woman with no skills and a questionable historyâ¦â
âYou went all out for the fundingâ¦â
âSilence!â
Dr. Penn glared at the secretary and barked, âIf sheâs incompetent, then you are useless!â
âGo and assess her accomplishments instead of daydreaming here!â
Feeling chastised and confused, the secretary asked, âIf she is competent and capable, why did Mr. Lenoir have to
go to such lengths to recommend her to us?â
Dr. Penn responded nonchalantly, âMaybe because our institute is closer to Mr. Lenoir s residenceâ¦â

As Cherise was about to hail a taxi to leave the institute, a red Porsche pulled up beside her.
Ursulaâs haughty face emerged from the car. âCherise Shaw, right?â
