Marrying the Man in the Dark
Chapter 727 What Will Become of Us?
Cherise burrowed her face into his back as she listened to the rhythmic thumping of his heartbeat, âMm.â
Moments later, she took a deep breath. Her checks flushed as she murmured, âDarling.â
Damien nearly stumbled, and his figure instantly stiffened. After a moment, he gently put her down. He gazed at
her intensely under the moonlight. âWhat did you call me?â
âDarling.â Under the moonlight, Cheriseâs blush deepened as she met his gaze. âI havenât uttered this word. in five
years. It feels strange.â
âYouâll get the hang of it, Mrs. Lenoir. With that, he leaned in. One hand cradled Cheriseâs chin, and the other was
braced against the wall as he kissed her passionately.
When their lips met, a click was heard behind Cherise. The entire institute was suddenly bathed in light.
As light flooded the room. Cherise instinctively shut her eyes. But with her eyes closed, her other senses
heightened. She could feel every ounce of the manâs tenderness and affection as he kissed her.
She could even sense the intensity of his gaze as he watched her and looked into her eyes. She closed her eyes,
took a deep breath, and put her arms around his neck. She stood on tiptoe and deepened the kissâ¦..
She had decided to let go of her inhibitions. She put the complicated past between the Tanner, Miles, and Lenoir
families behind her at that moment.
It was because the man before her genuinely cared for her. He was also the person she cherished most in her life.
Their elders and relatives would never understand her feelings for him.
When she first saw him remove the black silk from his eyes on their wedding night five years ago, destined to only
have eyes for him for the rest of her life..

hand to the ground. âYou were unconscious for so long, and he didnât even bother to visit you! Heâs really stopped
caring for us!â
âHe never had any obligation to us in the first place.â Rowena stared into the distance vacantly. âLula, itâs time for
us to leave the Lenoir familyâs care.â
âAfter allâ¦â Rowenaâs voice was weak and indifferent. âAfter all, weâre just strangers to Damien.â
âRegardless of what Iâve sacrificed to save him, with Cherise around⦠his heart will always belong to her.â
Ursula stared at Rowena in astonishment. Fear flickered through her eyes. âBut Weena, what will become of us
without the Lenoir familyâs support?â
Ursula could only do menial jobs, and the money she could earn was insufficient to cover Rowenaâs medical
expenses!
âItâs all Cheriseâs fault!â Ursula bit her lip. âWeena, do you think Damien would treat us as kindly as before if Cherise
left?â
Rowena nodded. âHe probably would, but why would Cherise leaveâ¦â Rowena closed her eyes as she spoke.

Ursula narrowed her eyes. âDeath.â
âYouâre famous nowâ Early the following morning. Cherise received a call from Lucy before she had even gotten out
of bed. âYouâre the talk of the town.â
On the other end of the phone, Lucy was doubled over from laughter. âSome are even saying that Damien is
disloyal because he only searched for his ex-wife for five years before he stopped.â
