âI also have a younger brother named Blake. I donât know anyone else.â After that, she asked sincerely, âWhat
about you? I see that your nis Lucy Staber What is our relationship? Are you a friend?â
Lucy was flabbergasted. Cheriseâs voice was very earnest and calm. She didnât seem like she was joking at all.
But doesnât amnesia only happen in fiction? âI'm your friend.â Lucy sighed helplessly. âYou said you have
amnesia, so do you remember what happened to you in the past few days?â
âNo,â Cherise answered earnestly and candidly. âWhen I woke up, I was covered in blood and mud. There are still
knife wounds on my legs. Blake supportedas we made our way back. I donât remember anything that
happened in the past.â
Lucy pursed her lips. She pondered for a long tand resisted the urge to tell Cherise about the rumors
outside. She asked, âDo you want to regain your memories?â
âOf course. No one wants to live without knowledge of the past,â Cherise answered without hesitation. âEveryone
is very kind tonow. Although I think my current life... is decent, I still want to know what happened to me.â
With that, she asked hesitantly, âDamien toldnot to overthink things. What about you? Can you tell me
anything?â
âLetâs wait for a while. I've been researching with medical experts abroad recently, and I may find a way to help
you recover your memory.â Lucy smiled faintly. âBut it'll be a while before I can help you. All you have to do is
wait patiently, okay?â
âMm.â Cherise pouted. âI guess thatâs the only thing I can do now.â She hated the feeling of being unable to
recall her memories. She could only listen to what others told her. Since she couldn't remember anything, she
was clueless. Everything she was told seemed like the truth.
Not long after the phone call ended, Frances returned with two servants carrying bags of groceries. âMrs. Lenoir,
are you planning to make pierogis for Mr. Lenoir?â Cherise nodded earnestly. âYes... I plan to do so.â But the
reality was different. Standing in the kitchen, Cherise watched Frances skillfully make the pierogis. She slowly
pinched the pierogi dough with her hands as she observed carefully.
The first pierogi fell apart, the second pierogi tore, and the third pierogi looked so funny that Cherise burst out
laughing. âYou have to take your time.â Frances smiled as she looked at Cherise. âMrs. Lenoir, why donât you
take a break? I can make the rest of the pierogis with the other servants.â
âDidnât you say my husband likes the pierogis I make?â Cherise shook her head thoughtfully. âI'll keep
practicing.â
âMr. Lenoir is blessed.â Upon seeing Cherise like this, Frances couldn't help but smile. âEven though you donât
remember the past, Mrs. Lenoir, your love and care for Mr. Lenoir is unchanged!â Cheriseâs face flushed at
Francesâs words. She pursed her lips and looked at Frances. âUm... do you know how I met my husband?â
Francesâs body stiffened slightly. How did Mr. and Mrs. Lenoir meet... Didn't they meet and get married because
Mrs. Lenoirâ's grandmother was sick backthen? But Frances felt that this was inappropriate to say. Hence, she
smiled and shook her head. âAs servants, how could we know about your affairs?â
