Chapter 126: New Arrivals Sophie After Hunter showed me how much he loves me and wow does that man love me, I needed to get back to the pack. As I walk to the door of his office, I turn. âI donât even know Alpha Zahnâs mateâs name,â I say. âI didnât either. Itâs Jocelyn.â âJocelyn. Not his fated mate, right?â âNo. I donât know about his first mate, itâs possible she was. But this one was one he hunted down as you said.â Even more reason for Jocelyn to not want to be mated to Zahn. I have no idea what he expects to gain by coming here. âOh, and thinking of Jocelyn reminded me, we need more homes built at the survivor center. The surviving mates are asking to leave the packhouse,â I tell him. âI figured. Iâll talk to Lucas about getting them built quickly. Is Leah moving out?â âIâm going to confirm with her and Brooklyn that they donât want the house theyâve been living in, but Brutus has a room here. Otherwise, Iâm sure heâd be willing to build them a house on the pack lands,â I say. He looks at me thoughtfully. âYou know, thatâs not a bad idea, 0.00% 1506 Chapter 126: New Arrivals Sophie.â âWhatâs that?â 288 iVouchers âBuilding houses for pack members who have pups or just donât want the craziness of the packhouse. Weâve always had space for everyone, but weâre getting bigger, growing with the number of ranked females who keep coming to our borders. Maybe others would want their own
space, away from the hustle and bustle of the packhouse.â Iâm just about to turn away, still thinking about what he said, when I get a mind link from the border patrols. âLuna, thereâs a man here who is asking for a Sophia. Heâs got two she-wolves with him, none of them are marked.â âWhatâs his name,â I ask frowning. Sophia was the name I used in the diner when I was on the run. Itâs quiet a moment before he comes back. âHe says you may remember him as Jethro or possibly Jaime.â âSophie?â Hunter asks, obviously part of the mind link. âDoes he smell like a lone wolf?â I ask the patrol. âYes, and the she-wolves smell like them too,â the patrol says, as I turn and head out of Hunterâs office. âRanked?â I ask, beginning to jog. I hear Hunter growl behind me and turn, watching him strip quickly and shift before Shaw walks up and bumps against me. He lays down at my feet, a clear indication that heâs coming too and that Iâm supposed to get on his back. 15060 Chapter 126; New Arrivals âNot ranked, but definitely scared and theyâre in pretty bad shape Luna,â he says. âWeâre on our way,â Hunter says in the mind link as Shaw gets up with me on his back and begins running to the borders. âI can jog, Hunter. Our son isnât so big that I canât,â I say as we go. All I get is Shawâs protective growl. I shake my head but drop it. Now that heâs felt his son move, Iâm guessing this will be my new norm. Overprotective Shaw and Hunter. When we get to the border, I can see that the patrol was right. These girls look practically emaciated. They donât smell like omegas though. Warriors, but exhausted, starving warriors,â Hunter confirms in my head. I get off of Shawâs back and after glancing at the women who look terrified, I focus on Jaime. Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
âSo, what name are you going by these days, Jethro or Jaime?â ask him, smiling. I watch the tension in his body relax at my calm greeting. âJaime. And you, Luna? You never mentioned that you were the legend that everyone was talking about,â he says casually, making the women look at him in surprise. âRelatives?â I ask Hunter who has shifted back to his human form. I see him lift his nose in the air. Yes. Sisters, Iâd guess.â He had mentioned sisters when weâd met at the diner, in what 29.92% 15.06 Chapter 126: New Arrivals feels like a lifetime ago. âI didnât know anything about being a legend back then. I was hiding, remember?â I ask. âI do. Iâm glad that you remember too. Iâm hoping that youâll remember my kindness to you and help my sisters,â he says. âSophie, how about an introduction,â Hunter says. âMy apologies. Hunter, this is Jaime. We met while I was on the run. He was hiding with a group of humans, if I remember correctly. He came back after they left the diner to check on me and to warn me about the ranked members hunting she-wolves on the run.â âYou looked after my mate? I am indebted to you,â Hunter says. âI didnât do anything, truly, other than make sure she was okay. Lone wolves look out for each other, and she was a young, Alpha female, alone.â âAll the more reason that appreciate your assistance,â Hunter says. âIâm Alpha Hunter, Sophieâs mate. Welcome to our pack. You all look like you need food, a shower, and a warm bed.â âIâm not asking for myself, just a safe place for my sisters,â Jaime says. âWe have plenty of room for you too, Jaime, if youâre tired of being on the run. Hunter and I were just talking about ways to expand our housing so that we can accommodate those who need our assistance, whether itâs short-term or forever,â I say, turning to the she-wolves. Theyâre both young,
younger than Jaime, and I think one is underage. 15:06 Chapter 126; New Arrivals âIâm Luna Sophie and you are welcome here. May I have your names?â âIâm Beth and this is Chloe,â the older of the two says. Even her voice sounds weak. I take a chance and walk up to them, opening my arms and offering comfort. They both look at Jaime before falling into my arms and sobbing in relief. I see Jaime look down; his lips pressed tightly together. Everyone stays silent while I calm and soothe the girls. Itâs not uncommon for those who find us to break down from the relief of finally being safe. âCome with me,â I say, when they stop crying. âThat goes for you too, Jaime,â I say, looking over at him. âThank you, Luna,â he says, then looks at Hunter to ensure that heâs okay with it too. âSheâs the boss. I just work here,â Hunter says, smiling at Jaime. I snort, but as with all females coming into the pack, I take the lead. âLetâs get you something to eat. While we do that, we can get you a room, some clothes, and once youâve showered and rested, weâll talk,â I say, turning to make sure that Jaime is following us. I notice him looking at my stomach. âA lot has changed since I last saw you.â âThat feels like a lifetime ago. And I guess it was,â I say, smiling at Hunter. Jaime catches the exchange. 15.06 Chapter 126; New Arrivals âSo, heâs one of the good Alphas?â Jaime asks me. âHeâs the best there is,â I say proudly, smiling at my mate. The patrols arenât surprised, but Jaime and his sisters are. Hunter smiles warmly at me, but Jaime turns to him. âWe should talk.â âIs it urgent? You donât look much better than your sisters.â
âMaybe we can talk over lunch and then I can rest. Iâll admit Iâm pretty tired.â âDead on your feet seems more accurate. Youâve been protecting them?â Hunter asks him. âOnce I found them, yes. Itâs a long story,â Jaime says. âOne that can wait for now,â I say as we make our way into the packhouse. âLuna, we have some fresh faces,â Kinsley says, gingerly walking up. âAre you allowed to be out of bed?â I ask her. âOne hour, Luna. Thatâs all Iâve given her,â Dr. Felicity says from behind Kinsley. âFine, you can spend your one hour eating with us and figuring out a room situation,â I say to Kinsley before turning to the girls. âWould the two of you like to share a room, or separate rooms?â ask them. They look at each other. âWeâd like to share.â Chapter 126, New Arrivals âTwo rooms then,â I say to Kinsley, as several omegas walk out with food. âTwo?â she asks. âTheir brother and my friend, Jaime,â I say, turning to look at him. I frown at the look on Jaimeâs face, looking at Hunter who is smiling at me. âNever a dull moment around here,â Hunter says. I follow Jaimeâ s gaze and see Penny, staring back at him, both of their eyes wide. âDo you two know each other?â I ask Penny. Penny shakes her head but doesnât look at me. âNo, Luna.â I frown, looking at Hunter, but itâs Jaime that speaks. âMate.â
