Greg Jensen didnât hold back and recounted the incident right away. He then looked at Wallace Carter, with a smile that wasnât quite a smile, and said, âDo you think I should just kill him outright?â
Upon hearing this, Wallace Carter shivered with fear and squeezed out a smile uglier than crying as he said, âI wonât lie to you, my relationship with Jay Brent is pretty good. Maybe you couldâ¦?â
âAre you teaching me how to do my job?â
Greg Jensen looked over coldly, his chilling gaze making Wallace Carter feel as if he had fallen into an ice cave.
âNot at all, not at all. Mr. Jensen, I truly didnât mean that, the land he was dealing with⦠itâs actually been sold to me.â
Hearing this, Greg Jensen laughed out loud derisively and said, âSo your relationship is really that good, huh? He took you for a fool, thinking you would confront me on his behalf, did he?â
âThatâ¦â
Wallace Carter also felt somewhat displeased inside, as Jay Brent had gone too far this time, even dragging him into the mix.
âEnough with the nonsense. Find that man, the manager, within an hour, and there might still be a chance to resolve this.
If you canât find him, then prepare to retrieve Jay Brentâs corpse! Also, I do not wish for Jay Brent to receive this news before I do, understand?â
âUnderstood, I understand!â
Wallace Carter quickly lowered his head as cold sweat broke out instantly.
He felt as if he was facing a towering mountain, the pressure making it hard for him to breathe.
Greg Jensen nodded silently and stood up to leave. As he reached the doorway, he suddenly stopped.
Turning back, he looked at Wallace Carter and said indifferently, âI hope you understand something. I can afford to lose two million, and Iâm also capable of taking a life, understand?â
He didnât care about the two million; he just wanted to settle the score!
When Wallace Carter heard those words filled with murderous intent, his legs turned to jelly, and he nearly kneeled on the spot, quickly stammering, âUnderstood, Iâve understood!â
He didnât know how much time passed before he lifted his head again, and Greg Jensen had gone.
He collapsed onto the sofa with a thud, gasping for air greedily, and muttered, âJay Brent, oh Jay Brent, why did you have to provoke such a fiend!â
â¦
Greg Jensen hadnât gone far; he found a foot massage parlor and rested there comfortably for a while.
After more than half an hour, Wallace Carter called, saying he had found that âManager Yuâ and was bringing him back, about one more hour to arrival.
Greg Jensen didnât take it seriously and hung up after the call, continuing to rest.
Relishing the comfort at his feet, he squinted his eyes and actually fell asleep.
About another hour later, Wallace Carterâs call came again.
This time, he was informing him that the person had been brought in and was asking what to do next.
Greg Jensen pondered for a moment and said, âFine, wait at your home. Iâm on my way.â
He went to the front desk to settle the bill, casually tipping the masseuse three hundred bucks, and then drove back to the Carter Familyâs.
After walking in, he saw that Manager Yu was kneeling on the ground, silent, while Wallace Carter sat on the sofa with a sullen face.
âWell, well, who do we have here? Isnât this Manager Yu?â
Greg Jensen walked over with a taunting look on his face, slowly crouched down, and sneered, saying, âManager Yu, what a coincidence, we meet again.â
âGre⦠Mr. Jensenâ¦â
Manager Yuâs lips started to quiver involuntarily upon seeing Greg Jensen, struggling to string a complete sentence together.
Greg Jensen sneered and said, âTell me, whatâs your real name?â
âI⦠my name is Eaton Harrison.â
âOh, so itâs Manager Harrison, I see I must have remembered wrong!â
Eaton Harrison swallowed hard, not daring to interject, and looked up fearfully before lowering his head again.
Greg Jensen spoke indifferently, âManager Zhang, this must have been your own doing, right? No one instructed you to do this, did they?â
âIâ¦â
The moment he was pressed for answer, Eaton panicked. He really didnât want to take the blame for this, but he was afraid of Jay Brentâs retaliation afterwards.
He didnât know how to explain himself all of a sudden.
Gregâs expression turned cold as he said sternly, âIâll give you one last chance. If you donât speak up, Iâll assume you did this all by yourself.
âTie a rock to your body and sink you in the river, or just stage a car accident for you â take your pick.â
Upon hearing this, Eatonâs body trembled, and then he abruptly looked up, staring straight at Greg and asked, âMr. Jensen, if I tell the truth, will you let me go?â
Greg sat leisurely on the sofa, legs crossed, his demeanor indifferent, âWhat makes you think youâre in a position to negotiate with me right now?
Do you think without you, I wouldnât know who the real mastermind is?â
âNo!â
Eaton knew he was on the chopping block, and his only way out was to sell out Jay Brent.
Otherwise, there was no way he would leave the Carter family mansion alive today.
Realizing this, a fierce look crossed his face, and through gritted teeth he said, âMr. Jensen, I didnât want to do it originally, it was all Jay Brent forcing me.
Please, let me go. Iâm just a nobody, I canât withstand such torment.â
Greg smiled and turned to Theo Carter, asking, âDid you get all that on tape?â
Theoâs face showed a sycophantic smile as he said, âMr. Jensen, we got it.â
âGood, then letâs go. Take Manager Zhang with us. Weâre going to have a good talk with Mr. Brent.â
Greg stood up to leave. Theo quickly jogged a few steps, reached the car, and opened the door in advance for Greg.
Watching this scene, Wallace Carter felt a mixture of sadness and relief.
The sorrow came from seeing his pampered son, who had lived a life of luxury for over twenty years, now willingly doing the work of a lowly servant.
The relief was from thinking that his son, who had always been reckless, was finally starting to grow up.
He didnât actually hate Greg, even though his son was now acting like a lackey. He still didnât hate Greg; in fact, he was somewhat grateful.
Because he knew that if it wasnât for Greg, there would have been a Lee Jensen or a Wang Jensen. His unruly son would one day cross someone the Carter family couldnât handle.
At that time, how many members of the Carter family would survive was anybodyâs guess.
Wallace got into the car with complex feelings, following Greg to the Ceaser Club.
It was still afternoon, and although the club had already opened, there were not many customers.
Greg and Wallace, along with Wallaceâs bodyguardsâfour people in totalâentered the club, while Theo and Eaton were left in the car.
âHello, may I ask who youâre looking for?â
âIâm looking for Jay Brent.â
âMr. Brent isâ¦â
Before the receptionist could finish speaking, Wallaceâs brow furrowed, and he angrily said, âIâm Wallace Carter, donât you recognize me?â
âI do, of course, I doâ¦â
The receptionist smiled awkwardly and said, âItâs just⦠Mr. Brent is with a guest right now. It might not be convenient for you to go in.â
âStep aside, I have urgent business with him. Even if heâs in the middle of fucking around right now, heâd better pull up his trousers for me.â
Wallace pushed the receptionist aside and took the lead toward the office.
