Jeffrey Locke was momentarily stunned, watching him with suspicion before asking, âYou donât have a problem with that twenty-three percent of shares in your hands, do you?â
âNo⦠no problem at all, how could there be a problem if itâs in my hands.â
Joe Locke forced a smile, âIâm just worried that twenty-three percent of shares is still too little, not enough to control the Locke Corporation.â
âItâs not too little, our family has quite a few senior executives with shares, and all together weâre close to forty percent, which is enough.â
Jeffrey Locke let out a long sigh of relief, comforting, âYou donât need to panic, what big storm hasnât our Locke family weathered?
If we get through this, we will still be Jamaeâs First Family.â
âYes, we definitely will,â Ethan Locke nodded forcefully.
âWell⦠Iâm going to the bathroom.â
Joe Locke swallowed, glanced at his father apprehensively, and hurried to the restroom, taking out his phone to call Quinton Creed again.
However, Quinton Creedâs phone was still turned off!
âDamn it, what the hell is Quinton Creed up to?â
Joe Locke cursed bitterly, just about to leave when his phone suddenly rang.
âMr. Locke, we went over to the villa, but Quinton Creed isnât there. The security guard said that the family moved out a long time ago.â
Boom!
Joe Locke felt a buzzing in his head and was completely stunned; an indescribable fear enveloped him.
He knew that the Locke family was in for big trouble!
âHello, Mr. Locke, Mr. Lockeâ¦â
âYes, Iâm here.â
Joe Locke recovered his senses, speaking hurriedly, âHave someone watch over the villa, and let me know immediately if anyone returns.
Also, do whatever it takes to find Quinton Creed for me.â
âYes, Mr. Locke.â
After hanging up, Joe Locke let out a long breath and felt like he had just been fished out of water, with cold sweat soaking his entire body.
âTell my father that Iâve mortgaged the shares?â
Joe Locke shivered, âNo, I canât say that, heâll kill me!â
Like a dazed child, he muttered, âQuinton Creed must have gone on a business trip, he will be back soon.
Yes, he must be foundâ¦â
â¦
The news of the Locke family selling shares spread quickly in Jamae City, causing quite an uproar.
Everyone knew they had offended the Simmons family, but no one expected that with just one move, the Simmons family would pressure the Locke family into selling their shares.
For a time, many tycoons in Jamae City, like sharks that had smelled blood, all turned their attention to the Locke family.
But, out of respect for the Locke familyâs former influence, they only watched and none actually moved to buy shares of the Locke Corporation.
âFifteen percent of shares for just over a hundred million, itâs a firesale price now, arenât you buying?â
âHeh, why donât you buy it?â
âIâm afraid that after the Locke family recovers, they will demand the shares back from me.â
âYou think Iâm not afraid?â
The Locke family was desperate, even declaring that no matter who bought the shares, they would not demand them back, but still, no one made a move to purchase.
On the other hand, upon hearing the news, Greg Jensen returned to Jamae City from Riverhaven County overnight with Lois Abbott.
After settling Lois Abbott into a villa in the town of Jamae, he called Adrian Wright, Spencer Burley, Chestor Ware, Wallace Carter, Brandon Brent, and others to the Wright Familyâs club.
Greg Jensen looked at them seriously, âI want to buy shares of the Locke Corporation.â
Chestor Wareâs face changed slightly, hesitating before advising, âGreg, the shares of the Locke Corporation are indeed cheap, but arenât you afraid that they will demand them back after you buy them?â
Wallace Carter followed up, âYeah, I heard a lot of people want to buy, but no one dares to, just because theyâre afraid the Lockes will renege after the fact and demand the shares back at the current price.â
Spencer Burley disdainfully said, âThe Lockes really have no shame. If they actually did that, it would be like borrowing money from others, and without any interest to boot.â
Greg Jensen didnât speak. He watched as several people argued back and forth and, after they finished, he took out a document and laid it on the table.
âTake a look at this.â
âWhatâs this?â
Chestor Ware was the first to take it and, after a quick scan, was instantly stunned. His shocked face lifted, and he looked at Greg Jensen, âLittle brother Jensen, is this for real?â
âOf course, itâs real,â Greg Jensen said with a smile.
âWhatâs this, let me see.â
Adrian Wright, somewhat puzzled, took it and was equally astonished after looking at it.
A moment later, after everyone had looked at the document, they all fell silent, staring blankly at Greg Jensen.
Because what Greg Jensen had brought out was a stock transfer agreement.
It was clearly stated that twenty-three percent of the founding shares of the Locke Corporation were to be transferred to Greg Jensen at no cost.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
âWhere⦠where did this come from?â
âHaha, you donât need to worry about that.â
Greg Jensen laughed, âJust tell me, with this document in hand, is it worth going after the remaining fifteen percent?â
âAbsolutely, itâs definitely worth it!â
âAs long as we buy that fifteen percent of the shares, that takes us close to forty percent. Given the current shareholding structure of the Locke family, we could directly control the Locke Corporation.â
Everyone was immediately excited.
All understood that once the Locke Corporation was taken, the Locke family would be completely out of the fight, not to mention reclaiming the sold shares.
Greg Jensen smiled and said, âI donât have that much money by myself, so I called you all here. Letâs take down that fifteen percent together. I wonder what you all think?â
Chestor Ware hesitated, âLittle brother Jensen, if you want to buy, I can lend you the money. I wonât meddle.â
âYeah, Brother Jensen. Those twenty-three percent shares are already yours. Without these shares, who would dare buy the remaining fifteen percent?â
âJust buy it yourself, and we will help you make up the difference.â
They all understood that without Greg Jensen, nobody would dare buy shares of the Locke Corporation. If they really went along and bought, it would be like taking advantage of Greg Jensenâs situation.
After all, those shares were sold at a nearly thirty percent discount.
Greg Jensen laughed, âDonât think too much about it. According to the Locke familyâs intentions, they want to break up and sell that fifteen percent of the shares.
If I were to buy them alone, they might not be willing to sell at all.â
âThisâ¦â
âAlright, letâs buy it together then.â
Everyone exchanged a look and unanimously agreed.
Upon hearing this, Greg Jensen laughed heartily, âThen letâs discuss and see how many shares you few are willing to take.â
The funds from the Jamae Herbs Factory had been settled, and Greg Jensen had more than twenty million in cash.
However, he couldnât possibly invest all that money into the Locke Corporation; he still needed to keep some as start-up capital for the Peach Blossom supermarket.
So, if he were to buy, he could only afford about two percent.
Among the group, Chestor Ware of Riverhaven County was relatively wealthy but still fell short of the Wright and Burley families.
Eventually, Chestor Ware took three percent, while Adrian Wright and Spencer Burley each took four percent.
Wallace Carter and Brandon Brent, with the least available cash, each took one percent.
Together with Greg Jensenâs two percent, the groupâs shares amounted to the exact fifteen percent.
After agreeing, they all drove together to the Locke familyâs home.
