Chapter 3: Chapter 2 The Army

The man looked at me then said.

“Name”

“Kelya Rhodes” The man looked at me with shock then said.

“Ms.Rhodes im so sorry about what happened. Are'nt you supposed to be in school?” He replied.

“I dropped out.” I replied.

“Very well follow me.” He replied then motioned me to follow him, we walked into a large room large monitors and screens filled the balcony overlooking the room. All sorts of technology was being built and created, sounds of lasers filled the testing rooms. I walked over to where other people dressed in common clothes were sitting down in front of a holo screen. A large old muscular man walked out, he had a eye-patch covering his eye, a large scar poking out of the eye-patch, his leg and right arm were gone replaced with prosthetic metal ones , he was wearing a techno suit, and covered to head to toe in scars. The people sitting down stood up and glared at the man I sat down confused. He turned to me and scowled then barked.

“You there get you sorry ass up!” I got up and stared at the man with fear. “Whats you name soldier!”

“Kelya. Kelya Rhodes. Sir!” I replied, the people around me gasped then the man said. “Apologizes I had no idea we had a Rhode on board. You must learn how things work around here.” He then turned back to the other requites and barked.

“All right listen up here! My name is Commander Kyris, and im here to prepare you to fight against the dragons!”

“The Kyris as in Kyris the destroyer who single handily wiped out an army of dragons, and has been fighting for 70 years.” I thought to myself.

“Now does anyone know how to kill a dragon!” He barked.

“You can’t their armors to strong!” I replied.

“Correct, fortunately we have found a weakness!”

“Lasers!” I replied.

“Correct Ms. Rhodes knows her stuff! Better than you maggots!” He barked, then picked up a single suit on the table. “Each suit acts like armor, has a laser blade glove, also you have a single blaster in your holster, and a jet pack!” “Now for 5 days we will be training you how to use the equipment properly!” He walked over to each of us and handed us our suit. I put mine on with the other girls, it was surprisingly lightweight, it also glowed. All of us walked out of the changing rooms and back to the Commander. He walked us to a medium room with targets lined up.

“Now what I want you to do is to fire your blaster at that target!” He barked, I pulled out my blaster pulled the trigger and plasma shot forwards flying into the target. A black singe was left were it hit. Other soldiers followed some hit the target others fired it into the air.

“Right that was pretty good but-” He paused, then pulled out his blaster and pushed the trigger rapidly, while moving, then multiple shots of plasma shot at each of the targets hitting in the middle. Everyone stared open mouthed at him then he said. “You still have a lot to learn.” I got pretty good at shooting my blaster I managed to shoot two shots of plasma at the targets.

The next day Kyris woke us up early to train.“Now its time to learn how to use your laser blades!” He barked. “You press the button to ignite your blade!” I pressed the button all of a sudden a hum was heard and a triangular blade shot out from my wrist. I rushed towards the target with fury thinking that this was a real dragon I slashed with fury downwards, my blade sliced through effortlessly. The commander looked at me with shock then said.

“Wow by god are you Ryker’s daughter.” After he let us try the jet packs. I flew high into the air, flying towards the target then slicing right through it.

“These show those son of a bitches that their not the only ones who rule the sky’s!” Kyris shouted up at us. We trained no stop then Kyris walked over to us and said.

“Good job soldiers! You deserve a reward.” He pulled out two items one was a hilt of a sword the other a large machine gun. “Behold the future of combat. I give you the laser sword and laser machine gun! With this those son of a bitches will run for the hills!” He walked over to me and handed me the hilt of the sword and said.

“Kelya you father would have wanted you to have this. It was the first prototype laser sword, it was your fathers. We recovered it from where-” He paused then said softly.

“You father was a good man.” I turned on the sword immediately a long laser came forwards forming into the shape of a katakana. I turned it off then placed it into the sheath on my back.

“Kelya you have a visitor.” A man said.

“Oh that’s right. Moms gonna kill me.” I though to myself as I walked to the visitor area. I walked through a swinging door and saw not my mom but none other than Bryce looking up at me.

“I heard what happened and I thought I would find you here.” He said softly.

“You know I have to do this.” I replied looking at him.

“I know but im not gonna let you do it alone.” He replied.

“What are you talking about!” I shouted, he smiled at me and replied.

“Who else is gonna watch you back, and besides I think iv’e sat on the sidelines for to long.” He walked with me over to the commander.

“Who are you young man!” He barked.

“Sir! Bryce Yoder reporting for duty!” Bryce replied putting on tough guy act, but I could see he was terrified beyond reason of the commander even as he walked to his barracks he could feel the commanders cold eyes staring at him.

Day 3 we had to wake up early, Bryce well lets just say he had a rude awakening. Imagine sleeping and then all of a sudden a large man who looks like they could kill you, is standing over you. Bryce told me as we prepared to begin training. Kyris made Bryce practice using his blaster and laser blade also his jet pack. Bryce started to fly upwards but then accidentally skyrocketed himself into the rafters above. I chuckled, Kyris was not amused, he glared at me. I put on my serious face, trying not to laugh.

"Get a damn ladder in here!" Kyris shouted sighing. Eventually they rescued Bryce, of course Kyris shouted at him but then eventually let him go. We where walking to our barracks when Bryce said.

"Keyla two more days to go before we go out into the field. I'm worried what if I get killed or you-" I cut him off then said.

"Don't think that way, we will survive. And if I am going to die then i'll be taking some bastards along with me, That's a promise. Well goodnight Bryce."

"Goodnight Keyla." He said.

Day 4 I awoke everyone was getting ready to train when all of a sudden, the whole room went still even Kyris wasn’t moving I saw a large man dressed in a black suit walk towards us, I immediately stood still as well, this was Breckett President of Ceghyla.

“Good evening Commander Kyris.” He said.

“Likewise. What do you need?” Kyris replied.

“I need you and your soldiers to head to the outskirts of Iqunearean. I hope you soldiers are ready.” Breckett replied.

“They are sir.” Kyris said, then barked. “Allright soldiers were moving out!” As we walked to the transport taking us there I took one last good look at Sliyphia City then said under my breath.

“I’ll avenge you father.”
