506 Play Around With You A Bit
âLetâs begin what?â Clara was confused and looked at Marcel as if he had lost his damn mind. She pulled at the binds but her hands couldnât move. It was tight and digging into her hands and skin.
She glared at Marcel, âIs this a joke or what?! Let me go this instant or I would make sure you encounter worse fate in the hands of your father,â Clara threatened him knowing that Daniel was the only one that could affect Marcel.
Clara was a fool to have been blinded by her feelings for him and he threw that right back on her face. She gave Marcel her heart and he stomped on it, instead, he chose to love that lowly woman, his mistress. He chose his mistress over her? Clara was so embarrassed.
And now, all that anger and embarrassment had turned to resentment and Clara wanted Marcel to be punished for it. Maybe, he should die too.... that way, nobody could have him. When Clara couldnât get what she wanted, she made sure no one gets to have it. She wanted it gone. And in Marcelâs case, Clara wanted him gone.
Marcel snorted as if he found her response funny, âIâm sorry, but in your current situation, not even my father would be able to save you.â
Clara frowned, what was he talking about? However, conceited and having been pampered all through her life, Clara believed that Marcel must be fucking with her and Daniel would come to rescue her soon.
âWhat bullshit?! Get me out of here, now because trust me, Iâll make sure your father â ahh!â Clara screamed when Marcel grabbed her hair and pulled it so tight, that tears slipped down her cheeks.
Clara didnât know which one hurt the most, her perfectly made hair for the wedding today and if things went well, they would be married by now, or the pain from him pulling her hair.
âDo you think Iâm here to massage your spoiled ass?â Marcel growled at her face, his eyes hard and ferocious it looked like hell were burning there. He was angry, Clara could see that now.
.....
âIt hurts,â Her lips trembled and Marcelâs expression softened a little enough for him to ease his hold, but not entirely. The threat was still there and Clara knew that if she made a mistake, he would grab her hair tight again.
âWhy are you doing this to me when I did nothing but love you or is it a crime to love you? To want you?â Clara asked, the tears flowing in torrents now, âMarcel, all I ever did was to want -!â
âShut up, you know nothing about love!â Marcel bellowed.
Clara flinched, daring not to make a sound. The current Marcel was acting all strange and violent. She didnât know what had come over Marcel. It must be that mistress of his. She knew today was their wedding day and must have poisoned Marcelâs mind, turning him against her. All Clara needed was to get out of here and she would solve everything.
âWhat have you done?â Marcel found it laughable, âAll you did was love me?â He sneered, âYou were never in love with me, Clara. You were only possessive and wanted an idea of me. You never knew or wanted the real me. Moreover, if you indeed loved me, you would never do anything to bring me to harm or distress in the first place.â He told her, but Clara only shook her head in confusion.
âWhat are you talking about?â Clara looked sincere and pitiful as he told him, âI would never harm you, Marcel. I would never do that!â
âThen what about Peter?â
âWhat Peter?â Clara groaned, tired of this baseless accusation.
âPeter Ivanov. The man you ordered to steal my weapons.â
Clara sighed, tired of the pointless interrogation, âIs this what this is all about? Do you think I would command someone to steal your weapons? God! I donât know who the hell is -â
She was about to finish her statement when Marcel pulled out his phone with lightning speed and showed her the picture of the man on his screen.
At first, Clara blinked innocently, merely blinking at the image before her, however, just as she was about to open her mouth and inform Marcel that she hasnât seen a man like that in her entire life, recognition hit her and her eyes widened to the size of the moon... Oh God, no.
âJudging from the incredulous look on your face, I can safely assume that you finally remember him and you arenât so innocent now, are you?â
Claraâs blood ran cold and she lifted her head to see the devilish smirk forming at the corner of his lips. Marcel knew everything and just needed to confirm it from her, which he just did. He caught her unprepared. Now what? What was he going to do to her?n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
âM-Marcel,â Clara stuttered, her sense of self-preservation kicking in. She tried to move so she could grab onto him and beg him to spare her, but she couldnât. The damn ropes were preventing her!
âWhat?â He asked emotionlessly.
âIt was in the past,â Was Claraâs excuse, âI only did that when we were newly engaged, after my mother arranged our marriage without my consent. I had been upset and angry and wanted to take it out on you, Marcel. I didnât mean to hurt you then, I was ignorant. Moreover, I only asked him to just create a small setback enough to piss you off, that was all. â Clara had no choice but to confess the truth.
Marcel finally let go of her hair and took a step back, and another before he burst into long hysterical laughter. He laughed so hard that tears began to escape his eyes and he began to clap his hands, âA little setback, huh?â He laughed harder.
In the twinkle of an eye, the laughter on Marcelâs face vanished and it was as if it was never there in the first place, âYou call that a little setback?!â He barked so hard that Clara shrieked, startled. She was so scared, that Marcel was going to kill her.
âYou were so generous with your money that Peter employed one of the most annoying mercenaries and a whole armory set to arrive was intercepted at the dork. What did you say to that? Is that a small setback to you?!â He screamed into her ears so hard that Clara began to sob from the maltreatment.
âIâm so sorry,â Clara wept bitterly, âI didnât mean to put you in much trouble. I was just so bitter towards you then that I thought it was the right decision. Please forgive me, Marcel,â She begged him. Clara didnât want to die now.
âForgive you?â Marcel sneered. He then lowered his head so he was looking her straight in the eyes.
He said, âDonât you think youâre a bit selfish to ask for forgiveness? Had you been someone else, you would have died already for betraying me and you think Iâm not merciful enough?â His tone was authoritative and showed threat.
He went on, âBut then I would spare you because for once, you seem to have done something favorable to me. Outside these walls, there would soon be a family gathering and thanks to your little âsetbackâ plans, Iâm under a family rule never to marry a betrayer. The future madam must live by example, donât you think so? â He smiled wickedly and Clareâs face fell because she could clearly see his plans now.
âNo, no, Marcel, it was just once!â Clara argued, fighting desperately against the bond, âMarcel, I would never betray you! So please donât do this to us! Please, Iâll be better from now on... in fact, you can be with your mistress while married to me, I wouldnât say or do anything, just donât give up on our relationship, Marcel,â She pleaded desperately.
However, Marcel told her, â Thatâs where you are wrong, Clara. There was never a us or a relationship between the both of us in the first place. Everything that happened was between you and Daniel, I gave no consent to that. And you forget just how petty I can be,â He announced justifiedly, âJust like you decided to take out your anger on me when our engagement was newly formed, Iâve decided to take out my anger on you for betraying my trust.â
âNo, no, no, you canât do that, Marcel! Marcel!â Clara screamed after him as he began to leave, âIâm so sorry! I shouldnât have done that! It was in the past though!â
But when she saw it did not affect him, she started to swear then, âFine, take your fucking ass out of here like the bastard you are anyway. Do you think you can be with her just because you got rid of me? Haha, in your dreams, Marcel! Daniel would kill her!â She shouted and Marcel stopped.
Without a second thought, he turned around and began to strode in her direction and fear crippled Clara as she realized what she had done.
âNo, no, Iâm so sorry, Marcel. Donât kill me!â She was still saying when Marcel slipped off the tie he had been made to wear and gagged her mouth with it.
When Marcel was done, he patted her cheeks, but the look in his eyes was anything but gentle. It was cold and hard, as if he had retreated into being the ruthless killer he was known for. Claraâs heart began to pound hard, what the hell has she done?
Marcel said, âDonât worry, after your judgment in the next room, weâd play around a bit, donât you think so?â The dark promise in his eyes was obvious. Clara just stepped into the lionâs den and she was beginning to see it.
