608 Confession
âAah!â The screams that left their lips were enough to raise the dead from the grave.
It was pandemonium as mother and daughter hugged each other in fright while Raymond dropped flat to the ground, his hands protectively covering his head. What was wrong with these people?! He was scared out of his mind.
First, it was her daughter pointing the gun at him, and now, her mother. Unlike Arianna who had mercy on him, Raymond doesnât even know Natalie and his chances of surviving this encounter was nil. Why were they doing this to him? He didnât know guns were this easy to acquire.
âWhat are you doing?â Claudia cried out, âWe are innocent,â
âShut up!â Natalie barked at her, making Claudia almost jump out of her skin. She was so scared. She didnât want to die in this manner.
Natalieâs grip on the gun was unfaltering and had a determined look on her face. âDo you think I waited twenty-three of my childâs life to hear your bullshits?!â She hollered so loudly that Claudia and her mother jerked in each otherâs arms, lowering their gaze to the ground and refusing to meet her eyes else they provoked her.
Looking at Claudia being shielded by her motherâs arms stirred a feeling of jealousy inside Natalie. It was unfair, her child should be in her arms too. Hence, she quickly reached out for Claudia and began to pull her away from her mother.
âMum!â Claudia screamed at the top of her voice as the crazy woman tried to separate them.
âClaudia,â Her motherâs heart was pounding like a galloping horse and she refused to give up on her child while Raymond lay on the ground unsure and useless to stop what was happening.
.....
To cut down on expenses, he had terminated his contract with the private security company guiding them else the guards would have been here at the sound of the commotion. But then, even the staff who had seen what was going on, chose to abandon them and save their lives first. They retreated into their hiding spaces at the first sign of trouble.
âI said let go of her!â Natalie aimed the gun at Claudiaâs mother this time and she released her daughterâs hand with a jerk, raising her hand in surrender.
Claudia was stunned when she saw the response from her mother, having not expected that. She thought that mothers defended their childrenâs life even at the expense of their own life. However, she didnât have time to think about it because Natalie aimed the gun back at her and directed her to sit on the single couch and faced her.
âNow,â Natalie started, âWe are going to have an effective conversation,â She added with a smirk that sent chills down everyoneâs arms, âOnly that it would be on my terms,â
With that being said, Natalie directed both of her parents to sit down on the other couch and stood in the middle of them all, albeit lowering her gun which made them breathe slowly. However, they were not fools to think the worst was over. If anything, this was just the beginning.
âAlright, listen to me,â Natalie shouted to the other staff hiding in the house, âI have people outside and at the first sound of a police siren, I would blast the head of your employees with their daughter, and trust me when I said there wonât be any survivors. And maybe, if thereâs time, Iâll come for you too.â
Natalie threatened them even though she had no intention of doing such a thing. But she had learned from Eric that humans are opinionated and are much more compliant when under duress.
Nothing could go wrong with her plan today, Natalie was determined to get a grip on her daughter. She had come here to learn more about Edward and his death â and perhaps a few details about her daughter. However, the fools had assumed that she came for her daughter and triggered her by announcing her daughter was gone.
Do they know what she has sacrificed to give her daughter the perfect and safe life she deserved? She lost twenty-three years of motherhood! The years she could have spent watching her daughter grow into the beautiful woman she was right now. Years that she could never regain! The raw pain tore Natalie from the inside out.
And now, they were telling her that her daughter was... gone?! Someone had to start talking or she might break her promise and start shooting brains.
âSo this is how itâs going to be, you are going to tell me where my daughter is and if I detect as much as a lie, your precious daughter would suffer for it. And oh, Iâm not killing your daughter right away,â
She chuckled crazily before her lips curved into a cold sneer, âIt would be a slow death and as her parents, the both of you would watch, helpless to help as your daughter screams in agony till her light is extinguished forever,â Natalie said with shocking details that made both parents gulp nervously.
âDo you get it?! â Natalie boomed.
There was no need for words because Claudiaâs mother and father were dumb with fear and could only nod their head obediently.
Having made her point, Natalie walked over to the woman, Claudiaâs mother. She has been observing the woman and if there was anyone who would give her updates on her daughterâs whereabouts, it was definitely her.
She asked, âSo tell me, woman to woman, where is my daughter? No,â She rephrased her question, âWhat did you do with her?â
Instantly, as if the woman had been waiting for this opportunity to spill everything, Claudiaâs mother pointed an accusing finger to her husband,
âItâs not my fault, I promise you, however, he was the one that took out the loans and in turn, Arianna was taken by the loan sharks as payment.â She confessed.
Natalieâs blood chilled the instant she heard those words. âW-what?â she croaked, wishing that she misheard or something.
âI tried to stop my husband but he was desperate to save his company and the loan sharks were getting impatient!â The woman gushed out while Raymond, her husband, stared at her in horror.
