631 The Last Night
âMarcel? No, I have no idea where he is. But why do you ask? Did anything happen to him?â Winters asked on the phone call.
It was Arianna calling and honestly, it was quite surprising that she was asking about Marcelâs whereabouts when the both of them were a couple and always together.
âNo, itâs nothing. I just thought you were with him or something?â came Ariannaâs response.
âWell, you donât have to worry much about him. I know Marcel and if heâs not answering your call, heâs probably busy or in a meeting or something. Moreover, tomorrowâs the day when we get Chloe back, he probably has a lot on his mind and it skipped his mind to call back. â She assured Arianna.
Winters said as well, âBut donât worry, if I get through to him, Iâll inform Marcel youâre worried about him.â
âSure, thank you so much,â
âYouâre welcome,â Winters ended her call and contacted Marcel instantly. But then, there was no answer. It just kept ringing and ringing.
âCome on, man, just answer the damn call,â She blew air through her nose exasperatedly, becoming frustrated with the situation as well.
It wasnât like Marcel to not answer his phone and she was becoming worried that something might have happened to him as well. Arianna said he went to see Daniel, it wouldnât make sense if the man hurt his son. No, that was suicide. No matter how crazy Daniel was, he loved Marcel.
.....
Winters was still calling him when a text came into her phone.
[Stop bothering me]
âSeriously?â She rolled her eyes toward heaven in annoyance. Here, she was worried about him and this was all he had to say to her. That rude bastard! She should have known better than to call him.
âWell, guess whoâs not worried about you anymore, asshole!â Winters cursed under her breath, ending the call. She would never call him again!
âWhat are you worried about?â
âAhh!â Winters screamed, almost jumping out of her skin with the phone pressed to her chest. Turning, she found out that it was only Akim.
âOh God, you scared me!â She cried out, trying to calm her racing heart.
âExactly, why do you look like someone who was caught doing something bad?â He chuckled, yet his gaze fell to her cell phone curiously, âIt seems you were on a call?â Akim was trying to ask without overstepping his boundaries.
Wintersâ gaze drifted down to her phone and she explained immediately, âOh, that was my neighbor calling,â She lied, âHer twelve-year-old son is missing and she was wondering if I have any idea where he might be. The both of us are quite close.â
âOh, is that so,â Akim believed her immediately, every doubt he had cleared away.
âYes, it is so,â Winters had to plaster a wide grin on her face. God, she hated to lie to him, but there was nothing that she could do.
Taking a good look at him now, Winters found out that his hair was wet, meaning that he just stepped out of the shower. No wonder he took her by surprise â she thought he went outside for air.
He had just a towel wrapped around his waist with the water from his hair dripping down his shoulder and forming little streamlets that ran down the hard planes of his body, the deep V of his stomach, and soaking into the towel.
Winters was suddenly thirsty for water and hot at the same time. Damn, where was the air conditioner? It was a hot and erotic scene that made her heart begin to race.
Akim noticed the way she was staring at him intensely as if she wanted to eat him up and asked, feeling nervous, âWhat are you doing here by the way? Not that youâre not allowed here, no, youâre always welcome in my room, anytime, any day, even midnight â and no! Itâs not what youâre thinking, not that I know what youâre thinking, you know. But I have incredible self-control and you could just literally sleep in my room without me doing anything. I should probably shut up now, â He has blabbered enough.
That was cute, Winters was tempted to laugh, however, Akim was embarrassed enough, so she stifled the laughter.
Winters answered him, âI finally put the kids to bed and I just thought that I could say goodnight to you before I went to bed as well.â
âOh,â Akim finally got it, âThatâs nice of you,â He said.
âYeah,â Winters nodded, so nice of her. She said, âI should probably go to bed then. Goodnight Akim.â
âGoodnight Winters. Sweet dreams.â Akim wished her and she smiled. That was so sweet of him.
They had kissed enough today, so Winters turned to leave and hardly took two steps when she stepped.
What if she didnât want to go back yet?
Tomorrow might be the last time she sees Akim. If they pulled off their plans tomorrow, then there was no need to remain in Spencerâs household anymore. Winters would need to leave so they donât figure out her role in the family, a spy.
In one word, tonight might be the last time she might get the opportunity to be with Akim and she didnât want to lose him like that. Heâs the first guy she really liked, you know.
âWell, fuck it!â Winters retraced her step and approached Akim who stared at her like a moron, wondering what she was up to. Hence, he wasnât prepared when she pressed her lips to him, kissing him passionately.
It wasnât until Winters bit his lower lips that he realized that she was kissing him. So he kissed her back, molding her body to him.
âDo you want to do this?â Akim asked, looking her straight in the eyes. He wanted to be sure that she knew what she was doing. It was a big decision and he didnât want to pleasure her into anything.
âIâm as sure as hell,â Winters told him firmly. She was a hundred percent sure.
