The younger man had just woken up, so his eyes were not yet fully open. Instead of responding to his brother’s query, he voiced his own confusion. “Why did you go to Mel’s room?”

“I just went to check on her,” Aaron responded calmly.

Spencer frowned. “I didn’t see you in your room when I got back last night. When did you get back? Did you wake up earlier than me?”

“I’ve always been a light sleeper. Why are you asking so many questions this early in the morning? Let’s go have our breakfast.

Mel and I need to go to the hospital later,” Aaron responded, keeping a straight face.

Spencer thought nothing more. “Okay, I’ll go check on Mel too. Things have been so hectic, and she’s had to visit the hospital every two days. She’s had health issues since she was a child, so she might be exhausted by now.”

While speaking, he made his way toward Melanie’s room.
