Chapter 31 Aurelia Has No PR Team No sooner had Aurelia’s words fallen, than she heard the heavy breath of Aaron, evidently irritated, from the other end of the phone.

“Say it again!” Aaron roared in anger.

Aurelia’s eyebrows that were meticulously drawn, lifted slightly in a teasing manner. With a smirk that wasn’t quite a smile, she said, “You’re young, yet you have so many issues. I suggest you get your ears and your brain checked at the hospital.”

After she finished speaking, she promptly hung up the phone.

It was clear that whatever Aaron was about to say next wouldn’t be pleasant, he certainly wouldn’t be spouting any words of praise.

Although the phone call had brought her considerable relief, there was still a faint ache in her heart.

At that moment, the thoughts in her heart shifted.

Aaron stared at the disconnected call, seething with anger while his teeth clenched tightly.

His handsome face had contorted into a mess.

“What did she say? Is she still being stubborn? Does she ever consider the consequences of her actions? How could I have a sister like her?” Spencer’s face looked incredibly gloomy.

Biting her red lip, Melanie asked, “She doesn’t want to delete the photo on her Instagram, and she has no intention of apologizing to me, does she?”

Hmph! Who exactly has given Aurelia the courage, making her believe she could trouble me?

“What did she say, after all?” Luna asked Aaron.

With gritted teeth, Aaron said, “She was adamant, refusing to delete her circle of friends, and even cursed at me.”

“Since she disregarded our advice, treating our words as if they were wind passing by her ears, we must get a PR team if this matter were to ever reach the media and become a hot topic. In the end, she will be the one to lose face! We absolutely cannot allow Mel to be criticized” Spencer made this decision without a second thought.

Melanie said pitifully, “Thank you, Spencer.”

Benjamin, who had been mostly silent, furrowed his brow and said, “She doesn’t seem like someone that foolish. Let’s check her Instagram first, perhaps she’s just being stubborn.”

Chapter 31 Aurelia Has No PR Team Within half an hour, they had checked their friend’s circle several times, but the result was always the same. Aurelia’s posts in Instagram had not been deleted.

The news about the mistress and the scoundrel made it to the local hot search.

This topic had already blown up on TikTok.

Almost everyone in Jacaster who scrolled through TikTok could see the screenshot of Instagram.

Melanie’s phone was bombarded with a relentless stream of messages and calls.

The questions were all about how she ended up being a mistress. Then, it seemed that the man was just a minor employee in a company. They wondered how she could have fallen for such a low–ranking employee.

“How... How could they all believe it? Aurelia has really done me wrong.” Melanie lamented to the few people in front of her.

Several messages popped up on Luna’s phone, all inquiring about the same issue. She took a deep breath and addressed her three sons, “You need to quickly resolve this matter and let everyone know that the photo was photoshopped by Aurelia.”

“Alright.”

Melanie clutched her phone tightly, a malicious glint flickering in her downcast eyes. Aurelia, you’ve brought this upon yourself!

I’ll make sure you become a pariah in Jacaster, someone everyone will avoid!

Then, she pulled up Curtis‘ WhatsApp and sent him a message...

Chad only dare to approach Aurelia with his mobile phone in the afternoon when she had finished her work.

“Aurelia, take a look quickly. Someone has screenshot your Instagram post. Now it’s causing a stir on TikTok, and even on Twitter.”

Aurelia glanced over, she was mentally prepared for the scandal to be widely known. There were many classmates from Jacaster in her Instagram, some of whom should know Melanie too. However, the speed at which the news spread was still somewhat surprising.

“This scoundrel and his mistress deserve to be condemned. They had it coming!” Chad defended Aurelia indignantly. Everything about that man has been exposed. He looks so ordinary, so where did he get the audacity to cheat on Aurelia? I can’t believe this.

“Indeed, he deserves it. Why haven’t you left yet?” Aurelia asked.

Logically speaking, Chad should have finished work an hour ago.

Chad scratched his head. “I am just worried that you’d be heartbroken over that jerk.”

“Come on. He’s not worth it. Let’s go. I still need to visit someone at the hospital,” Aurelia said, picking up her bag and heading out.

Chad immediately followed. “Aurelia, are you really alright?”

Matthew was looking at the unfinished work on his notebook.

Originally, he was supposed to work overtime, but with his grandmother in the hospital, he had no choice but to finish the remaining work on the way there.

In his spare time from handling work, Gordon suddenly received a video recommendation on TikTok He clicked to view. First, he saw the Instagram post of Aurelia that he had seen in the morning.

That wasn’t the main issue. The crux of the matter was that Melanie had posted on Twitter, sharing a screenshot of a lawyer’s letter and a statement asserting that the photo was a fake.

He quickly opened Twitter, where the tide had completely turned in a short span of time. The Leedon family had hired an army of ghostwriters, all of whom were attacking Aurelia! They had even leaked her photos.

He watched, and was utterly dumbfounded, unable to resist voicing his doubts, “Isn’t Ms. Shaw the biological daughter of Gideon and his wife? Is Ms. Shaw their daughter, or is it this Melanie?”

Matthew who was engrossed in his work glanced up at Gordon.

The latter promptly relayed the ins and outs of the matter in detail.

In the end, he arrived at a conclusion. “Ms. Shaw couldn’t handle the Leedon family’s professional PR team alone. Let alone their legal team.”

Matthew had reviewed the lawyer’s letter sent by the Leedon family, along with various screenshots, all of which he had read through once..

His eyes were somewhat deep, emanating a faintly cold light that instinctively made others straighten their backs in fear. Seeing that, Gordon was still somewhat afraid despite being with Matthew almost every day.

“Collect all the evidence of Curtis and Melanie being together, then bring them to me.”

By the time Aurelia was nearing the hospital, she received a call from Phyllis.

“Auri, where are you now? Let the come and stay with you, or perhaps you could come home. Xavier and the others have returned as well. The small fella has been staying at school these past few days. Being with family at times like these can be rather comforting.”

Phyllis‘ voice was as gentle as calm water, especially when speaking to her most beloved daughter.

“I am on my way to the hospital. I planned to visit Old Mrs. Quigley first, so I’ll be home later than usual. You all should have dinner without waiting for me. Also, Mom, have you seen the news online? Don’t worry as everything is fine.” Aurelia guessed why Phyllis had called.

Phyllis let out a sigh of relief. “Alright, alright, we’ll wait for your return.”

Over at the Shaw family, Xavier and Charlie were watching the trending post on their phones rising continuously. It was clear that the Leedon family had bought the headline and ghostwriters.

“Xavier, they’re using a professional PR team.” Charlie glanced at their mother, who was busy in the kitchen, and said to Xavier with a furrowed brow.

Xavier’s expression was solemn. “I’ve asked a few friends, and they’re currently discussing a solution, so let’s not panic.”

Charlie nodded.

Resolving this matter wasn’t as easy as it seemed. Even though they knew the truth that Curtis had cheated on Aurelia, they were aware that the online community wouldn’t believe it.

The Leedon family’s public relations and counterattack were so timely. It looked like they had already prepared their PR answer right after Aurelia posted on her Instagram.

“They were unworthy of being Auri’s parents. What kind of parents would treat their own daughter like this? Auri must be feeling terrible right now,” Charlie said bitterly.

Right then, Xavier received a message on his phone. It was from a group chat he had established with a few friends. The plan they were discussing was to have Aurelia apologize, in order to minimize the damages!
