Roger rammed the van through the security guard gateway and drove toward the warehouses. Since there was no guard at the gate, he didnât have the patience to get out to open the gate properly. Whatever Medusa was up to, he needed to stop her quickly.
He parked the van between two warehouses and jumped out. He rushed toward the back and opened the tall double doors.
The Cerberus stepped out from the van. Good thing she could fit inside the vehicle and her weight didnât slow it down.
âAh! Itâs raining!â Cilla cried.
Roger pulled the duffle bag toward him in the back. âYou hate water?â
Labda shook her head. âWe havenât felt rain for centuries.â
âGod! I hate it now!â Katina complained.
Roger pulled out a shotgun and loaded some buck shots into its barrel. He placed it on his back and took out an assault rifle with a scope on it.
Next, he picked up a rocket launcher and smiled at it. This will totally blow the rock man into pieces.
After he placed it on his back, the ground shook below his boots.
âWhat is that?â Cilla asked, looking around.
Another thump vibrated through the wet concrete ground with the sound of thunder. It tremored so hard, the van shook, and it sounded like it was getting closer and closer.
âMaybe its thunder,â Katina suggested.
Labda glared at her. âPreposterous!â
Roger almost fell off his feet during another quake. It was louder than ever now.
Across the other side of the warehouse distinct, a few buildings exploded as a dark figure rose over the destruction. It rose taller and taller, making Roger dropped his mouth.
The thing appeared to be a giant fish-man, stomping through the buildings. He was making the entire ground shake as he walked, and he was heading toward the city.
âWhat the hell is that thing?â Roger shouted.
The Cerberusâs heads glared at the marching sea beast.
âItâs the Cetus!â Labda exclaimed.
Roger turned to her. âA what?â
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
âThe biggest mother f**ker who ruled the sea in Greece,â Katina explained.
âHe is a Titan, defeated by Perseus,â said Labda.
âYou mean the Kraken?â
Katina glared at him. âNo! Cetus is his name! Are your ears full of rainwater?â
âBut you said Perseus defeated him.â
âYes, but the monsterâs name is Cetus,â Labda corrected.
Roger rubbed his forehead. âOh.â
âWhy did you think the monster is the Kraken?â Cilla asked.
âI saw a movie once with my friends called the Clash of the Titans. Perseus is in it, and he fought the Kraken to save Andromeda.â
âHis real name is the Cetus,â said Labda. âWhatever mockey you heard from the humans, isnât true.â
Roger knew Hollywood movies were never true to the original source materials. Giving a monster a different name meant making him sound more recognizable for the audience. Just an excuse to get more money. âHow do we stop it?â
Labda rubbed her hand down her face. âWe canâtâ¦.. He is immortal.â
Katina stared at the monster, now rampaging through the city. âSorry, but your home is pretty f**ked now.â
Roger glared at the monster. He wasnât the type of man who would give up easily. âDid Perseus used Medusaâs head to defeat the creature?â
âYes,â Labda answered. âHow did you know that?â
Roger smiled. âThe same thing happened in the movie.â
Cilla clapped her hands cheerfully. âGreat idea, sweetie! We take Medusaâs head and use her to turn the Cetus to stone. That will stop the monster!â
Katina grinned at Roger. âGood job, man.â
Roger held up his assault rifle and loaded it. âLetâs find her now before it is too late.â
*****
After the Cerberus pulled the warehouse door open, Roger stepped inside, aiming his rifle to stay cautious. Half of the warehouse was empty, but not entirely. A television set sat in front of a couch, surrounded by boxes and pieces of trash. It looked like a homeless man was living inside the abandoned house.
Katina, Labda, and Cilla strolled around as they sniffed the air.
âThis is definitely her lair,â said Katina. âThe bitchâs scent is everywhere.â
Roger approached a table where a city map laid. He picked it up and glanced at it. âHey! Over here!â
The Cerberus approached him.
âWhat did you found?â Labda asked.
Roger held up the map toward her. âLook, itâs the map of the whole city. I think she planned to summon the Cetus in the bay.â
Labda narrowed her eyes at the map. âThe x mark must be the location where she went to. Summoning the Cetus there is a good spot.â
Cilla pointed her finger at a marked circle around a small island near the bridge. âWhat is that place?â
Roger flipped the map and looked. âAlcatraz. It used to be a prison island before the city decided to shut it down. Now it is a National Park for tourists.â
âBut why did Medusa circle it?â
Labda rubbed her chin. âIt could be her next destination. Maybe to watch the monster from a safe distance.â
Roger nodded and folded up the map. âThen that is where we will head too.â
