Medusa stepped back from the humans, holding up her scepter. âI suggest you stay back if you value your lives.â
The tall, muscular black man laughed. âYou canât threaten us. There are four of us and one of you. I think we got the advantage to crop up your ass into pieces.â
Medusaâs lips sneered. âWould you like to try?â
The tall black man snorted while his eyes glared around Medusaâs body. He looked up and down at her until he shrugged. âIce her!â
The man next to him charged toward Medusa with his knife out. She sidestepped to the left as she swung her staff into him, knocking him to the ground. She placed her barefoot on his head and crushed his skull like a soft egg.
âHoly shit!â the tall black man shouted.
Medusa shook the blood off her foot and glared at the three men. âYou still want to try?â
The tall black man shook in fear while keeping his face straight. âYouâ¦.. you canât get all of us!â
Both of his men charged while screaming. Without moving, Medusa blasted yellow beams of light at them from her eyes.
When the beams hit them, their skins turned solid gray, and they stopped moving. They completely froze without breathing too.
Medusa approached the statues and swung her scepter into them. They shattered into pieces of rock to the ground.
The last man dropped to his knees, breathing coldly. âWhat did you do?â
Medusa laughed, stepping over the rubble. âThe same thing I will do to you, fool.â
The black man rose as he gripped his knife. âBullshit! I whether go down in a fight than lose like this!â
He charged until Medusa blasted her beams at him. As he turned, his blade touched her neck before he stopped.

Medusa stepped back and laughed at the statue. âWhat a brave fool.â
Medusa continued down the alley until she stopped. Then she looked back at the only human statue in the alley.
If she needed to understand the new world before the gods find her, she would need a guide to help her. She may be strong, but having little knowledge wonât bring her far to her goal. Her only knowledge was the old ways from her old home, and her skills to wield her own magical powers.
Perhaps she should be grateful for Athena giving her god-like powers that no mortal could possess. But Athena will still pay for letting Poseidon rape Medusa.
She wondered if the thug knew a lot about the city. Surely he would be useful instead of being a lifeless rock. She knew how to control men under her will with her lady charms. He could also make a worthy protector for her if she becomes powerless to defend herself. With a strong fine body, he has, her enemies would fear him.
Medusa walked back to the statue and laid the tip of her scepter on the manâs head. After mumbling her ancient tongue, glowing purple cracks spread down the statue from her scepter.
âAwake!â Medusa shouted.
The statue twitched and stared at his hands. âWhat the hell?â
Medusa pointed her scepter at him. âYou are now my minion. Serve me, and you will live.â
The golem kneeled down before her with a grin. âYou damn right Iâll serve you, baby.â
Medusa laughed. She has complete control over him, although he still has his silly personality. He will listen to every command she desires like an obedient puppy. âWhat is your name?â
The golem looked up at her. âLewis Carlson.â
âWill Lewis Carlson, can you explain where I am?â
âThis is San Francisco in California, North America.â
Medusa wasnât familiar with North America. She must have appeared very far from her old country. âWhat is the date?â
âJune 15, 2019,â Lewis explained.
So she has been gone in the underworld for a thousand years. So much had changed. But that wonât stop her.
There was so much she wanted to know, but first, she must find shelter, which she could build into her lair. âLewis, do you know a place where I could build my lair?â
The golem scratched his forehead. âI have a place. The rest of my gang are there.â
âAnd you wonât have a problem with dispatching them for me?â
Lewis shook his head. âScrew them. Youâre the one who matters to me, baby.â
âDonât call me baby. I am not an infant.â
Lewis held out his arms and shrugged. âWhatever you say.â
Medusa was very pleased with her minion. After she gets her lair, her plan will move forward.
