Chapter 112: Ha! Men, they just canât help themselves, can they?
âForgive me for being blunt, Mr. Joseph,â Ethan said, looking skeptical. âIf you really love your brother Michael, itâs theoretically hard to develop feelings for your sister-in-law, right? Are you sure what youâre feeling is love?â
His ultimate goal was to fulfill Michaelâs dying wish.
Even though he found the trioâs relationship bizarre and chaotic, he couldnât imagine what a sexual encounter involving two men and a woman would look like.
Could it be one man in the back, one in the middle, and the woman in the front?
And in that scenario, who would enjoy it the most?
Ethan suddenly blurted out these odd questions, but he needed to ask them, they were relevant to his mission.
âIâ¦â Josephâs expression was complex, clearly struggling to discuss the topic.
âMr. Joseph, you should know that your brother is in the late stages of cancer,â Ethan said, appealing to his emotions. âHe asked us to investigate because heâs also hoping for a certain outcome.â
âMy feelings for my brother are genuine,â Joseph clenched his fists, his eyes reddening. âI know what I feel for him isnât just gratitude, itâs real love. Thereâs no doubt about that.â
âAnd what about Victoria?â Ethan squinted. âIs that love too, or just a physical desire for a woman?â
A flicker of emotion crossed Josephâs eyes,he hadnât expected Ethan and Blair to be so direct.
This twisted emotion had been suppressed for so long, he too longed to talk about it.
âBeing with my sister-in-law makes me happy. I find myself wondering what sheâs doing at the moment, and my heart races every time I see her,â Joseph spoke softly, as if reminiscing, then his expression turned to one of regret.
âAll I want is for the three of us to live happily together.â
He looked up at Ethan. âIs it wrong to love two people at the same time? Love is something you canât control once it starts.â
âMr. Joseph, I understand how you feel,â Ethanâs mouth twitched. âFalling for someone doesnât always make sense.â
Josephâs expression changed several times, finally settling on a bitter smile. âIâve wronged my brother.â
âNo, donât ever say that!â Ethan said earnestly. âMr. Joseph, both you and Mr. Michael are my good friends. Your problems are my problems, and Iâll make sure Mr. Michael can pass peacefully.â
âHuh?â Joseph looked confused. He was only discussing this with Ethan and Blair because they already knew.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
The secret was out.
He spoke up because the secrets were too much to bear alone, and he wanted to share them.
In his mind, the matter was already settled.
Ethanâs reaction, however, left him at a loss.
âThis⦠it doesnât matter anymore.â Joseph felt that with his brotherâs impending death, the issue had lost its significance.
âGive me some time, Iâll think of a solution!â Ethan wanted to grab his hand but hesitated for a second, remembering where that hand had been, and instead made a fist in a gesture of encouragement. âDo you really want Mr. Michael to leave this world with regrets?!â
âAh?â Joseph was startled by his enthusiasm, but it struck a chord of guilt within him.
He had fallen for his brotherâs wife and betrayed his brotherâs love.
It was a double betrayal.
âBut is there really a solution to this?â
He was baffled. Could there really be a solution to such a situation?
âI believe there is, as long as Mr. Michael is still alive, we shouldnât give up!â Ethan saw how dejected Joseph was:
âItâs not just for someone whoâs about to die, but for you, and for Victoria too. Do you really want to live with regrets for the rest of your life?â
âIâ¦â Josephâs fists tightened. Of course, he didnât want his brother to die with regrets, especially when a stranger was working so hard for them.
Deep down, a spark of hope was slowly being ignited.
Could there really be a way for everyone to be happy?
Josephâs gaze grew serious. âWhat should I do?â
âGive me a little time, Iâll figure something out.â Ethan, ever the smooth talker, pulled out the $10,000 check he had shown earlier and handed it back to Joseph. âI want Mr. Michael to pass without any worries. Iâll only accept payment once weâve achieved that.â
For him, the $10,000 wasnât a necessity anymore, earning Josephâs trust was far more crucial.
Joseph looked at the check on the table, a flicker of hope igniting in his eyes. He nodded, âOkay!â
He had been under tremendous pressure, and Ethanâs arrival felt like a lifeline to a drowning man.
Regardless of the outcome, Joseph felt a significant weight lifted off his shoulders.
The two men were in agreement.
After telling Joseph to wait for his news, Ethan left by car.
He and Blair had just returned to the hospital room.
Ethan collapsed onto the bed. âAh?! What do we do now! Blair, I need some ideas.â
He didnât care whether Michael Morgan passed away peacefully or not.
His mission was to ensure that Michaelâs estate would not be inherited by his wife.
The reward for the mission was a thousand points, plus the ability to double up on exchangeable skills and add a skill recycling feature.
These were perks he couldnât afford to lose.
âHmm,â Blair muttered as she returned to the room and began to undress, preparing to freshen up. âMichael Morgan is angry with his brother and wife right now. We just need to help him find peace, right? It shouldnât be too hard since heâs on his deathbed.â
She took off her sports shirt and then unbuttoned her jeans, tossing them onto the bed, revealing her pale, slender legs clad only in flesh-colored underwear.
Blair slipped into her slippers, removed her jacket and bra, and tossed them aside.
Ethan glanced over, noting her modest bust. âHey, arenât you being a bit too casual here?â
He saw Blair had also taken off her underwear, completely bare now.
âHmm,â Blair finished undressing and walked to the bathroom, her tone casual. âItâs not like you havenât seen it before.â
She went straight to the bathroom to shower, so she wouldnât have to change clothes inside.
âWhatever.â Ethan pursed his lips, his mind returning to the task at hand.
He didnât need Michael Morgan to find peace.
He just needed to ensure that his estate didnât end up with Victoria, which was complicated since they were married. Even if they divorced now, she could still claim half of his assets.
Ethan sighed softly, pulled out his phone, and hesitated before dialing a number saved as âTool #1.â
In a high-end apartment in Capitol City.
Abigaile lay on her bed scrolling through her phone, watching a video of Coach Biggie performing at a gentlemenâs club, which had millions of shares and comments.
âDamn guy!â
The more Abigaile thought about it, the angrier she got. She had intended to piggyback off his social media traffic, but instead, she ended up lending him money.
She couldnât make the first move.
She knew well that being too forward could make a woman less appealing to men.
She waited for Ethan to contact her first, planning to respond with enthusiasm but never to initiate.
âDing ding ding!â
Her phone vibrated.
Abigaileâs heart raced, hoping it was him, yet dreading the disappointment if it wasnât.
When she saw that the caller was Ethan.
âHa! Men, they just canât help themselves, can they?â
