Chapter 46: The âPeckerâ who stays up all night
âJust tonight!â Scarlett gritted her teeth, clearly exasperated. She had just agreed to share a bed with him tonight, feeling a bit guilty and not quite realizing what she was agreeing to in the moment.
âDonât worry, itâs just sleeping in the same bed, nothing more. I promise I wonât even touch you,â Ethan said, patting his chest confidently.
Scarlett covered her face, speechless. Ethan could be adorably clueless at times, but also had a knack for seizing the moment. She had just agreed to start dating him, and now she couldnât bring herself to refuse his request. Taking a deep breath, she laid down the law, âWeâre just sleeping, no funny business, got it?â
âDo you still not trust me?â Ethan teased from the hospital bed, urging her, âGo take a shower.â
âOkay.â Scarlett looked away, thinking to herself that Ethan probably wouldnât dare do anything too bold.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
She picked out the thickest pajamas she could find from the wardrobe and headed to the bathroom.
After her shower, she came out dressed in her pajamas.
Ethan lay on the bed, admiring her as she emerged from the bathroom. Her hair was up, her cheeks flushed, and despite the loose pajamas, her figure still managed to show off an impressive silhouette.
âStop staring,â Scarlett said, noticing Ethanâs intense gaze. She had worn pajamas around him before, but tonight felt different.
Ethanâs look was unabashedly admiring.
She could almost feel where his eyes were landing, as if they were trying to see through her clothes.
âItâs all your fault for being so beautiful,â Ethan chuckled, scooting over to make room for her on the bed.
Scarlett sighed softly and sat down on the edge of the bed, feeling his burning gaze. âTurn around.â
âOh,â Ethan realized, despite her mature and alluring appearance, she was actually quite shy. He obediently closed his eyes.
Soon, he felt the cool air as the blanket lifted and then the bed dipped beside him, followed by the faint scent of her shower gel.
Ethan reopened his eyes to find her alluring face close to his.
âLetâs sleep. And remember, no moving around or Iâll get mad,â Scarlett warned, realizing just how narrow the hospital bed was. Thankfully, it was a VIP room, so the bed was slightly wider than usual.
âOkay,â Ethan obediently closed his eyes again.
âHmm?â Scarlett was surprised at how well he was behaving. She didnât close her eyes, instead watching him. His face had matured, and there was a hint of stubble on his chin.
He had really grown up.
Memories of Ethan as a child, always following her around, flooded her mind. Changing his diapers, bathing him. Ironically, much of what she knew about men, sheâd learned from raising Ethan.
Scarlettâs face turned a deep red, embarrassed by these thoughts that had once seemed so trivial.
She caught herself staring at him, lost in thought.
Ethan sneakily opened his eyes again, and their gazes met.
âHeh, my eyes are itchy,â Ethan said, pretending to rub his eyes before closing them again.
Scarlettâs lips twitched. That rascal, trying to sneak peeks at her while pretending to sleep.
She just watched him.
About five minutes later, he opened his eyes again, and once more their eyes locked.
âHeh,â Ethan chuckled awkwardly. âItchy again.â
Scarlett just looked at him coldly, then reached over to the bedside table, grabbed a black sleep mask, and put it on him.
âIs that really necessary?â Ethan pleaded.
âJust sleep properly!â Scarlett asserted with a tone of authority.
âGoodnight then,â Ethan conceded, not wanting to scare her off on their first night sharing a bed. After all, they were now officially dating, and he figured it was only natural that things might progress from here.
He genuinely closed his eyes and started to drift off, inhaling the faint scent of her perfume.
But plans often donât keep up with reality.
Just knowing her sexy, graceful figure was right beside him, his 9-inch âPeckerâ had other ideas and excitedly reactedâ¦
â?â Scarlett was startled at first but quickly realized what was happening. She looked over at Ethan, who seemed to be asleep with the mask still on.
After a momentâs hesitation and seeing no further movement from him, she decided not to make a fuss.
She closed her eyes and pretended to sleep too.
But with them lying face to face on a narrow bed, it felt like a rigid little stick was poking her in the back, making it quite uncomfortable.
âItâs okay, just hang in there a bit longer,â Scarlett silently reassured herself.
âWhy does it have to be so exaggerated!â she thought, eyes closed, the strange sensation growing stronger.
Tension peaked, her muscles tensed, making the feeling even more pronounced.
Ten minutes, twenty minutes, half an hour.
Gradually, sleepiness overcame Scarlett, and in a half-asleep state, she dreamt that Ethanâs âPeckerâ was poking right through her stomach.
âAh?â
She suddenly opened her eyes to see Ethan still wearing his mask, breathing evenly, apparently really asleep.
Scarlettâs mouth twitched.
âI refuse to believe his âPeckerâ can stay up all night.â Scarlett gritted her teeth, deciding she wouldnât sleep tonight, waiting to see just how impressive Ethanâs âPeckerâ really was.
When the morning sunlight streamed into the hospital room.
Ethan woke up, removed his mask, and saw Auntie already sitting at the makeshift vanity, greeting her with a smile, âMorning, Auntie.â
Scarlett turned around, managing a strained smile, âMorning.â
After speaking, she quickly turned back to her makeup.
Ethan paused, noticing the dark circles under her eyes that she couldnât quite hide.
He had pretended to sleep at first but eventually drifted off for real, so he had no idea what had happened later.
Scarlett turned back around, her jaw clenched. She hadnât slept all night, feeling weird in her stomach, afraid to sleep, fearing an âattack.â
But her pale face wasnât just from lack of sleep.
The fact that the âPeckerâ had stayed erect all night was just too absurd.
Concerned for Ethanâs health, she decided it was time to find out what was going on.
