Chapter 86: They⦠wouldnât stay out overnight, would they?
Ethan wasnât the type to beat around the bush, especially when faced with a sophisticated lady in glasses.
But asking him to drop his pants for no reason was definitely a no-go.
Heâd need extra pay for that.
Ethan stepped back behind Blair, whose tall stature provided a sense of security.
He watched the bespectacled woman in black stockings warily.
Isabella slightly furrowed her brows, adjusted her glasses, and flashed a look of impatience. She didnât want to waste time explaining, especially since Ethan wasnât her subordinate:
âIâm in charge of producing the Dream Chaser Show, and right now, we need more viewers. Iâve looked into your background; you have muscle atrophy. Tell me, what do you want out of this?â
Ethan, relieved it wasnât about entertaining some rich lady for fun, got straight to the point: âMoney. I want to make some money to ease my familyâs financial troubles.ân/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Isabellaâs lips curled into a smile at his response: âThat could work. Itâs a good angle for the show. We can collaborate. I can give you what you want.â
Her eyes, behind her glasses, gleamed as she stared pointedly at Ethanâs groin: âBut you need to prove to me that everything you show is real, not just some cheap tricks.â
Isabella placed a beer bottle on the coffee table, her gaze intense.
Feeling uncomfortable under her scrutiny, Ethan paused briefly before nodding at Blair.
She stepped aside.
Ethan unbuttoned his pants, recalling scenes with an aunt in a hotel.
That indescribable thrill.
It only took a moment.
He was ready.
Isabella stared, her eyes wide with barely concealed astonishment. She had seen his videos before investigating him.
But seeing it in person was a different kind of shock.
She crossed her legs, shifting her position.
Ethan focused on the glass in front of him, took a deep breath, and prepared. Smashing a bottle with his âPeckerâ wasnât easy; he had practiced a lot, mainly learning boxing and combat techniques.
He turned sideways, aimed at the bottle, adjusted the angle, and twisted his waist sharply to add force.
His 10-inch âPeckerâ hit the weak spot of the bottle.
âCrash!â The glass shattered.
The beer bottle broke upon impact, spraying beer and foam everywhere, some splashing onto Isabellaâs cheek.
She remained still, looking at the 10-inch âPeckerâ and the broken bottle.
âSorry, may I check it myself?â
Isabella didnât wait for Ethanâs consent, her hand already reaching out, ignoring the beer foam on his âPeckerâ as she felt it.
âErm,â Ethan twitched a smile, his skill âHard as a Rockâ making it as hard as a wooden baton.
If swung at someoneâs jaw, it could knock them out cold.
But having an intellectual woman inspecting it up close always felt a bit odd.
The skill âHard as a Rockâ only increased its hardness, the sensation was still very real.
He began to notice a change in Isabellaâs eyes, not just inspecting but seemingly eager to explore further.
Her gaze was intense, almost piercing.
âCough, Isabella, I think thatâs enough to prove the authenticity of my performance,â Ethan quickly interjected.
If she kept going, who knew what weird stuff might happen.
âAlright.â Isabella withdrew her hand, sat up straight, her face showing no sign of anything unusual, as if it had been a routine check:
âThe official Twitter for Dream Chaser Show will release a statement tonight, clarifying that the misunderstanding between you and Mason was just a miscommunication.â
âOh, just like that? A simple âmisunderstandingâ? Heâs going to agree to that?â Ethan raised an eyebrow. Fans of such high-profile celebrities could really run wild with their imaginations.
He figured that kind of announcement would spawn a dozen conspiracy theories instantly.
âIsnât that what you wanted?â Isabellaâs eyes seemed to pierce right through him. âThis controversy will bring you the viewership you need, and itâs the same for the show.â
Ethan squinted slightly; he might have been too obvious.
âMason has also been under scrutiny because of your comments,â Isabella raised her hand. âHe wants to wrap this up quickly too. But whether you advance in the show will depend on your performance.â
â$30,000,â Ethan smiled. âRight now, your show needs me.â
Isabella stared at him, silent for a long moment: âDream Chaser Show has three rounds. Iâll give you $10,000, $20,000, and $30,000 for each round you advance.â
âDeal, itâs a pleasure doing business.â Ethan liked Isabellaâs straightforwardness and extended his hand.
Isabella, though essentially extorted, wasnât annoyed and shook his hand.
âIâll wait for the showâs updates at home.â Ethan nodded at Blair and turned to leave.
âI have one more question.â Isabella stood up, her gaze fixed on him. âDoes this level of hardness affect your⦠functionality as a man?â
Ethan stopped, turned around, and his gaze swept over herâintelligent, glasses, black stockings, and a nice figure.
âYou might want to try it out; I can go all day.â
âHmm, cheeky,â Isabella smiled for the first time since he had entered: âIf you win the finals, I might consider it.â
Surprise flickered in Ethanâs eyes. Winning and possibly getting a taste of this sophisticated beauty seemed like a good deal.
But all that was for later.
After leaving the apartment.
He and Blair took the elevator together.
âWhere to?â Blair tugged at her black suit, usually dressed in androgynous attire, but still not quite used to menâs suits.
âBack to the streaming apartment first, need to think of some tough acts.â Ethan watched the elevator numbers descend rapidly. âEveryone gets tired of the same old tricks, and just swinging a bottle wonât cut it for advancing.â
Meanwhile, Scarlett arrived at the hospital room; she was scheduled for a teacher qualification exam next week.
Originally, Blair was supposed to accompany Ethan in her place.
But after seeing the âwell-endowedâ coachâs live stream at Jessicaâs last night, that strange familiarity kept her restless.
On a whim, she decided to visit the hospital.
After arriving and not finding Blair and Ethan, she didnât think much of it, assuming they were out walking or busy with something else.
As the sun set and they still hadnât returned,
Scarlett pulled out her phone, looked at Blair and Ethanâs numbers, her finger hovering but not making the call.
After several hesitations, she put down the phone, lay on the hospital bed, and stared at the empty room.
Her feelings became complicated.
âThey⦠wouldnât stay out overnight, would they?â
Images of her taking Ethan to a hotel flashed through Scarlettâs mind; having done it herself, it was easy for her thoughts to drift there.
âSurely not.â
She felt their relationship had always been quite good since they were kids.
