Chapter 132
â¦F-Flogged to death?â
Gorden cried, his body shivering violently.
âNoâ¦NO! No, you canât! I am telling the truth! My King! I am your loyal servant. Your have to save me! My King-
âSilence,â Lance said grimly.
Then he turned to Andre and sighed, âAndre, I understand that you are furious. But there is no need to punish this poor man. As far as I am concerned, he just wants to offer us his version of the story-â
âWith all due respect, my king, there are no other versions of the story. My father âWith all due respect, my king, there a
in drug abuse. Period,â said Andre forcefully.
âI know. But-â
âAnd did you promise this man anything in return if he comes forward and testify?â Andre pursued.
Lance frowned, looking slightly offended by Andreâs aggressive attitude.
After a long pause, Lance said slowly, âYes, I did. I promised him some money, to reward his bravery.â
âThen there you go, my King. This man is not a loyal servant. He is a fraud. His mouth is full of crap. He made up a random story to get a share of the reward that you promised him. This whole thing is a fucking scam!â
Andre straightened his back and looked around the room, âI still think we should punish him. The harder the better! And set an example to those who think they can lie to the Kingâs face!â
There were some low mutterings in the room.
Lanceâs face turned dark
âGorden,â Lance called the peasantâs name in a cold voice.
âY-Yesâ¦My Kingâ¦â
âDo you dare to swear on your soul that what you claimed against Alpha Daran and Gamma Janet is true?â
Gorden quivered, âS-Swear? Yeah⦠Yeah, I can swearâ¦â
âThen how do you intend to respond to Master Andreâs words?â Lance questioned.
âHowâ¦How do I respondâ¦?â Gorden mumbled.
He looked horrified, dumbfounded.
He sat stiffly on the ground.
A few seconds later, a stinky smell came from his lower body.
Everyone looked down and found that he had wet his pants in fear.
ââ¦Eww.â
Many wrinkled their noses in disgust.
ââ¦Eww.â
Many wrinkled their noses in disgust.
âMy King, can we please have the guards drag this clown out of here?â Morgana said with a sneer. âI think it has been made clear now that this man knows nothing about General Dantonâs death. He is just after the money that you promised.â
Lance let out a frustrated sigh.
Then he waved his hand, âGuards. Approach.â
Several armed soldiers came forward and stood in front of Gorden.
âDrag this man to the Central Square and flog him 50 times,â Lance said wearily. âLet the world know the consequence of lying to the King.â
âYes, my King!â
The soldiers bent down and picked Gorden up from the ground. They dragged him to the door like dragging a dead pig.
Gorden had passed out in fear. His wet pants left a smelly stain on the hardwood floor.
âGod.â
Morgana covered her mouth and rolled her eyes, âThis room smells like piss. Can someone wipe the floor please?â
Lance snapped his fingers and called over a few maids. The maids cleaned the floor and opened the windows, letting some fresh air in to get rid of the smell.
âWell, what a shit show.â Daran crossed his arms and said with a sneer, âAre we done with this now?â
âWell, I think soâ¦yeah.â
Lance gave Daran and Janet a searching look, âBut I might need to add a few guards to your room, Alpha Daranâ¦for safety concerns.â
âAre you trying to spy on us?â Janet asked in fume.
âNo, of course not, Gamma Janet. This is a temporary measure. Trust me. I will pull the guards right away whenâ¦things quiet down again.â
Lance said with a grin.
âAnd those e guards are there to protect you. You canât shift in this city and our General just diedâ¦This is really a turbulent time. So please, accept my good will and let the guards protect you.â
This was complete bullshit.
Lance simply wanted to keep an eye on them.
He was not fully convinced by Andreâs story. Yet he couldnât prove that they were guilty either.
So he sent over those guards to have them closely monitored.
Janet bit her lip, reluctant.
If they said no, it would make Lance suspicious; yet if they agreed, they would lose their freedom to move around in the cityâ¦

âMy King.â
Morgana spoke up abruptly, taking a step forward.
âLeave this to me. Me and my guards will take good care of Alpha Daran and Gamma Janet.â
Janet looked at Morgana.
Morgana gave her a small wink.
âVery well, then.â Lance cleared his throat. âAre you fine with this arrangement, Alpha Daran?â
Daran shrugged, âIf you feel that it is necessary.â
Morgana beckoned over a few guards and asked them to send Daran and Janet back. to their suite.
Once they were back in their room, Janet immediately closed the door behind her and said to Daran, âDoes Lance seem weird to you?â
Daran raised an eyebrow, âYou mean how soft he was on this?â
âYeah. He sensed that we were involved in Dantonâs death, but he still decided not to pursue it⦠Why?â Janet bit her nails anxiously. âIt almost seems like that he was trying to protect us. How weird is that?â
âIt is weird,â Daran nodded. âIf I didnât know any better, I am almost getting the feeling that he was in love with you.â
âHey!â Janet pouted, âStop it! It is not the time for joke.â
Daran chuckled.
He walked over and rescued Janetâs thumb out of her teeth, âDonât worry too much. We donât need to understand the mind of a psycho like Lance. We already knew how to kill him. Now we just need to wait for the right time and make the move. Maybe we will give him a moment to confess himself before he dies.â
Janet smiled.
Daran always had a way to calm her down.
âThen do we have a plan?â Janet asked, âHow should we lure Lance out of the city?â
âI already have something in mind. But this plan involves Kass. We should make contact with him.â
But how?
Janet frowned.
There were almost a dozen soldiers outside guarding their door right now.
From an earlier peek out of the window, she even saw a few guards walking around. underneath their window.
Their suite was literally an iron bucket.
Daran put a thumb in between her brows and flattened the furrow, âLet me worry
should do!!
Daran put a thumb in between her brows and flattened the furrow, âLet me worry about these. Now there is something more important we should do.â
Janet gave him a perplexed look.
âLetâs take a nap.â Daran grinned, âI didnât get enough sleep this morning. Join me
in the bed.â
He spooned her up and carried her to the bedroom. She was giggling the whole way. They slept through the whole afternoon.
When they woke up from the nap, the sun had already set.
Janet sat up and reached for the lamp on the nightstand.
Daran wrapped his arms around her waist dragging her back and pulled the sheet over to cover their heads.
His body was on top of her. He lowered his head to nibble her neck, his hot breath. spread on her bare skin.
It was itchy. She giggled, ââ¦S-Stop! We need to get up nowâ¦â
She pushed him on the shoulder.
Yet he caught her wrist and pinned her hand back to the bed.
âSays whom?â Daran said in a husky voice. âI just want to stay in this bed with forever.â
He lowered his head and caught her lips eagerly.
Janet opened her mouth. A hoarse groan escaped her parted lips.
Just when he was moving his hand up her thigh, a knock came from the door.
âFuck,â Daran cursed, looking frustrated.
you
Janet giggled. She pushed him away and jumped off the bed, running to get the door.
It was Morgana.
Morgana took a look at Janetâs messy hair and smiled, âDid I come at a bad time?â âNo, you are good,â Janet raised an eyebrow. âWhy are you here?â
âRoom service. I brought you dinner.â
Morgana raised her voice for every guard standing in the hallway to hear, âFrom now on, Alpha Daranâs meals will be delivered to his room. Understood?â
âYes, Lady Morgana!â the guards answered in unison.
Morgana walked into the room. A servant with a mask over his face pushed a car full of food and followed her in.
The door closed behind their backs.
âWow, room service,â Janet said with a slightly sarcastic tone. âLooks like we are really grounded.â
âNot necessarily so.â
Morgana gave her a mystery smile, âI brought you a surprise.â

Janet rounded her eyes and gasped in surprise.
