Chapter 140
Morgana took her out of the dungeon.
They were seen by many soldiers on their way. But none of those soldiers made a move to stop them..
So it wasnât hard at all to rescue her out of here.
Yet Daran didnât even try.
Morgana shoved her into a car waiting outside and told the driver their destination. âWhere are we going?â Janet rubbed her temple.
She felt so exhausted and betrayed that she just wanted to lie down right now.
âProving my point!â Morgana hissed, âFirst we are going to a fancy salon to get your hair done and your dresses picked. Then we are going to a nightclub, where Lance and Daran are hanging out tonight.â
ââ¦Canât we just go straight to the nightclub?â
âDefinitely not!â Morgana cried, âI wonât let him see you like this. You have to look glorious, especially the first time you see your ex after the breakup.â
Janet wanted to tell Morgana that she and Daran didnât break up.
They werenât even in a relationship.
Yet she opened her mouth and decided that she couldnât be bothered with all the explanation.
She looked out to the passing streetlights and lapsed into silence at a loss.
She didnât know what exactly Morgana wanted to show her tonight. She didnât think she was ready for that either.
Ifâ¦If she saw anything-things that proved Morgana right, was she really ready to cut the ties with Daran?
She had no idea.
Their first stop was a fancy salon.
Morgana asked the shop owner to clear the floor so that all stylists could only serve the two of them tonight.
Janet first took a long shower and then she was seated in front of a dresser with a full-sized mirror facing her.
While two hair stylists fumbled with her hair, the make-up artist started to apply makeup for her.
The wounds and bruises on her face and body were carefully covered by concealers. The stylist gave her a sultry, smoky eye look with dark eyeshadow, winged eyeliner, and coats of mascara.
Her gorgeous face was brought out with a touch of bronzer and glittering highlighter, and a nude lip color with a glossy finish.
As the stylists worked with her face and hair, Morgana was sitting on the couch flipping through a shopping brochure, choosing an outfit for her.
As soon as Janet was done with her makeup, she was shoved into a dressing room to get changed.
When she came out with a finished look, everyone was stunned, including the stylists who did her makeover.
âHoly fuckâ¦â
Morgana shot up from the couch, rounding her eyes at Janet,
âLook at you! You are glowing!â
Janet was wearing a silver bodycon dress that hugged her curves perfectly The deep V-neckline showed off her cleavage. One side slit-up design brought out
Her hair was made into wavy curves and fell down to the middle of her back. The hairstylist gave her a balayage hair dye.
leg.
Now her hair color started with darker roots and gradually faded into a lighter, silver color at the ends, which was also the color of her dress.
Morgana cried excitedly and rushed to hold her hands, âMy god! Men in your packs are so damn lucky. They must all be crazy for you!â
Janet gave a tug at her dress with a bitter smile.
âNot exactlyâ¦No.â
When she was at Riverside Pack, she didnât have the money and time to look pretty. Back at that time, all spotlights were on Harper. And she was a nobody.
Daran didnât even notice her until they mated to each other.
She had all the resources when she was claimed back to Blood Moon Pack. But she soon became the Gamma and wore light sportswear every day for the training.
Thinking back, she seemed to never have the chance to dress up.
Morgana looked stunned when she heard this from Janet.
âThen what about your Luna Ceremony with Daran?â Morgana asked, âAt least your dressed up for that.â
Janet shook her head, âWe didnât have a ceremony.â
The Diaz gave her a ride to Daranâs villa and dumped her at the front door. And that
was it.
Daran didnât even come back on the first night of their mating. He spent the night at Harperâs.
âFuckâ¦That fucking prick!!!â Morgana yelled.
She grabbed Janetâs hand and led her to the door, âYou need to see a bastard for he really is. And he needs to see what he is missing out!â
The car drove them to a buzzing nightclub. A large group of customers was waiting in line outside.
Janet couldnât help but notice that those customers were all girls. No man.
âThat is Lanceâs idea!â
âThat is Lanceâs idea!â
Morgana shouted to her ear as they skipped the line and went through the front door.
âHe booked the place for 7 days straight! And set a no-man policy. All the girls in the city are here to impress the King and his new friend!â
They stepped inside.
And found themselves in a fancy nightclub with a dimly lit, industrial-chic interior that was alive with the throb of bass-heavy music.
Strobe lights flickered across the dance floor, casting a kaleidoscope of colors onto the writhing bodies of the dancers.
The air was thick with the scent of heavy perfume and sweat.
Janet had to hold her breath as they pushed through the crowd.
âLook!â
Morgana pointed in a certain direction for her.
Janet followed her finger and caught sight of Daran.
It was quite hard to miss.
Because he was on stage dancing with the stripper.
The girl was dressed in a bikini. Her big boobs were pressed against his chest.
They were pressed close together, their bodies moving in sync with the rhythm of the music.
The girl kissed his throat and led his hand to her hips.
He didnât pull his hand back. Instead, his long finger hooked the string of her bikini bottom, ready to pull it loose at any second.
The crowd downstage exploded with cheers, excited to see him stripe the girl.
Janet widened her eyes.
She found herself lost in shock and disbelief.
The man on stageâ¦.
He didnât seem like Daran at all.
The Daran that she knew never indulged himself in parties and booze. He was cold and indifferent, but also an industrious Alpha.
He kept his distance from most she-wolves, even when they threw themselves at him.
He was only nice to Harper, and then her.
So who was this man dancing on stage with the stripper?
Janet didnât know.
She hardly recognized him anymore.
Just then, someone popped a champagne and sprayed the wine all over their bodies. The girl giggled and raised her head to lick the wine dripping down his face.

Just then, someone popped a champagne and sprayed the wine all over their bodies. The girl giggled and raised her head to lick the wine dripping down his face. Yet Datan pushed her away and jumped off stage, heading towards a booth.
Janet saw Lance in that booth as well, surrounded by wasted, pretty girls.
Daran said something to Lance.
But they were too far away, and the music was too loud. She couldnât hear what they were saying.
Just when she decided to move closer, she saw Lance grab a mic.
Then his booming voice echoed in the nightclub, âSomebody kills the music.â
The loud music died out instantly.
All the girls stopped dancing and looked at the Rogue King, perplexed.
Lance turned to Daran with a big smile and asked, âDo you like the girl I chose for you?â
Daran was drinking a glass of champagne.
Hearing Lanceâs question, he raised a brow nonchalantly and said, âShe is fine.â
The stripperâs eyes sparkled with joy, and she was looking at him with an expression
of adoration.
Janet felt a sharp pain shoot through her body.
Lance laughed, looking pleased with Daranâs answer, âAnd what if I tell you that she used to be a member of your pack?â
âRiverside Pack?â Daran frowned.
âThat is right. She was expelled after being found stealing.â Lance snapped her fingers, âNo, I changed my mind. I donât want you to spend the night with a former member of Riverside Pack. Definitely not a thief.â
He reached into his pocket.
And pulled out a gun.
âShoot her dead,â he said to Daran with a grin, tossing the gun onto Daranâs lap. A horrified gasp could be heard from the crowd. Girls backed away hastily in fear.
The stripper froze on the spot. She widened her eyes at the gun, taken aback by this sudden turn of events.
âM-My Kingâ¦â she stuttered, âYou are jokingâ¦â
The smile on Lanceâs lips faded away, âWhy would I joke to a tramp like you? You had once danced with him. Lucky bitch. Now is the time for you to die.â
The once noisy club lapsed into a deathly silence.
The stripper trembled, her face pale as a piece of paper.
âNoâ¦donâtâ¦â she sobbed looking at Daran pleadingly. âI was once your memberâ¦donât do itâ¦â
âShoot her, Daran. Shot your former member,â Lance smiled. âProve resolution to me.â
Janet clenched her fists, her heart pounding in her chest.
No, Daran wouldnât.
your
She could accept him dancing with a stripper but this⦠No. A decent Alpha would never shoot an innocent girl-
Daran picked up the gun and pointed it at the stripper.
âNO-â Janet cried abruptly.
And he had pulled the trigger!
