All the three judges come on stage. All the teams are nervous and holding hands of their team-mates. Judge Nikhil Modi request chief guest Sabrynabrooklynne to come on stage and distribute the prizes to our winners.
Judges start addressing to the audience.
Judge Uma Shankar, "All the participants performed very well and I am impressed by each and every performance presented here. I wish all the best to all the students and their parents. You are the future of the Bollywood industry."
Judge Om Sharma, "I agree with Mrs. Uma but there can only be one winner. So, we notice some of you have higher potential than displayed today and hope they unleash their full potential and come back."
Judge Nikhil Shankar, "At last, based on our combined score, we announce the second runner up and that is... the one and only MANTHAN. Your leader did a great job performing that sweet little girl. Your acting and mannerisms were perfect and we believe that you can do a lot better as a team."
Everyone claps as team Manthan comes on stage. Judge Om Sharma request Sabrynabrooklynne to award them with her own hands.
I am shocked. I am not saying that judges are wrong. They are absolutely right but I was the one who was laughing at him and he won 3rd prize.
Judge Uma Shankar continues, "Now the first runner up is... any guesses." She paused for the response. We all were hoping that it's not us. You ask why because we want the first position, not a first runner up.
The audience was shouting names of all the teams. Our anxiety increased with every passing second. Finally, she continues, "So, the first runner up is team Taaleem. There is a lot of talent in this team still hidden and want them to work even harder."
Everyone starts clapping and shouting again. We happily accept all the greetings and head to stage to collect our trophy. Judge Om Sharma again request Sabrynabrooklynne to present the trophy. We accepted the trophy and come back to our position.
We were happy a little, but sadder that we have lost our hard-earned winning streak. Pawan excused himself saying he needed to use washroom.
All of a sudden John speaks up, "Its all my fault. I was more worried about my parent's fight at home then the practice. We lost because of me."
I reply, "Hey, why didn't you tell us earlier and also it is not your fault at all. It's my fault. I was the one who was late at practice and went home early because of some stupid pain."
Mandeep interrupts, "Who said it's your fault Ashu and John its not even your fault as well. I am the guilty one. I am the one who was furious on my Bhangra result than focusing on our performance."
Bhavika, "Shut up you all. This is not anyone's fault except me. I was the one who was off because my mom scolding me on my poor math test result."
Shubham, "No not at all. It was me. I was more worried about my con... something personal."
Suman, "Hello, what the hell is going on. Listen carefully, if I had focused on practice and not on eating, we would surely have won."
Kritika, "Why every one of you blaming yourselves over my fault and I think I caused thisbecause I was focusing too much on mylooks, too concerned about being seen as beautiful instead of focusing on myacting. I'm sure Uma Madam noticed and felt we weren't deserving of firstprize. "
I, "Hey, hold on, that incident wasn't your fault."
Pawan's pov
Thank God, they announced the result. I was holding it for long and can't control further. I head straight towards toilet. When I came back, I saw a few participants trying to click some selfies with Sabrynabrooklynne and team Udaan shouting in joy. I guess they won the competition. I won't say it was unfair. They truly deserve it.
When I was about to pass Sabrynabrooklynne, she called me, "Hey, Um, Mars right? You got a minute?"
I was in shock. Was she really talking to me?
I point at myself to confirm she actually meant me and she nods her head in confirmation.
As I move towards he, she says, "You guys were great, especially you and Jupiter. I liked the story too. If like to meet the writer. Actually I'd like to meet all of you."
I greet her, "It's a pleasure to meet you, madam. I am Pawan and the one you are asking about is Ashu and he is the leader of this team. We both are in 10th grade. I introduce you to everyone, please come with me."
She happily followed me, but when we reached the team, they were arguing. I tried to move forward to stop them but Ms. Sabrynabrooklynne stopped me.
Ashu's pov
As the argument started heating up, I see Pawan standing at the door with Ms. Sabrynabrooklynne. "What is he doing with her and why is she with him?" I think.
She looks at me and smiles, "I have seen lots of teams fighting each other when they don't achieve their desired goal but none of them ever fought like this. I must say I am impressed with your team bond."
Pawan comes forward and Sabrynabrooklynne asks him to introduce everybody.
Pawan gestures towards us while introducing us, "This is Bhavika, Kritika, Suman, Mandeep, Shubham, John, and as you know Ashu and this is the one and only Ms. Sabrynabrooklynne guys."
We all say in unison, "Pleased to meet you, madam."
"Wait you know me but how?", I ask.
She replies, "Pawan told me and please call me Sabryna."
"But how you two know each other.", I ask.
Sabryna, "I called him a few minutes back to introduce me to you all."
Pawan, "I was as surprised as you are, she all of this happened."
Mandeep, "I am more than just surprise. It's like a dream come true."
Suman, "I must be dreaming. Please, somebody, pinch me to wake me up."
Kritika instantly pinches her on his arm pretty hard.
Suman, "Aaouch! I didn't mean that hard."
Kritika, "At least now you believe it is not a dream."
Suman, "Yeah!"
Sabryna laughed at all of this, "Hey, Ashu, I am really impressed with all of you. Sorry, I have to go now. Here is my manager's number. Please call him tomorrow and fix an appointment for you with me as suitable. I am staying in India for a long time because I have some purpose to fulfill. Bye."
She faded in the crowd saying so and we are all confused at her statement. Why does she want to meet me in person? I guess I can only figure it out at her office.
