Chapter 32: XXX

Who? | The Dhampir (Book Two)Words: 9399

George

It is Jared, right?

After knowing that it was Mr. Tuna this whole time. We went back home. Clarkson carried the cat saying, "You are looking at Mr. Tuna as if you never babied him before." I immediately went to bed hoping that I'd wake up and everything was just a dream.

I did treat him as my own kid. But it's weird to know that he wasn't a cat after all this time. I hugged him and scratched his chin. He even watches me as I change my clothes.

"What the fuck!?" I grab my hair almost in frustration.

He saw me naked!?

I whisper yell as I lie on the bed kicking my feet. Cayden is busy cooking for us. Clarkson walks across the house and sits on the wooden chair, waiting for Cayden to serve the food.

"Wow, you're a real werewolf now."

I hitch my breath.

"I'm pretty sure the punishment won't be that serious, George," Clarkson says. He's been watching me acting like crazy the moment we step inside the house.

I know it's Jared.

And the moment he tried to push me and escape, Mr. Tuna was beside me.

He is Mr. Tuna?

"Or am I tripping?" I whisper.

My mind was filled with crazy thoughts after we went to the farm. I never thought I'd meet him that way. I thought he'd show up again to prove he was Mr. Tuna, but he didn't.

I stare at the cat. He casually walks into the house with his tail swaying, like a normal cat. He casually meows beside Clarkson, like a normal cat.

"Hey, are you alright?" Clarkson asks.

"Oh, uhm, yeah," I answer with a slow nod.

Is that the reason why he never eats his cat food?

And is that why Cayden found some wrapper of chips that neither Clarkson nor I ate?

"I never expected it was Mr. Tuna who ate those chickens," Cayden says while serving the spaghetti.

"He likes meat than cat food, huh?" Clarkson says, staring at the cat with wonder.

"I guess he's just hungry. Everyone is so busy that we didn't even check if he is eating his food," Cayden says.

I pour some fruit juice into my glass and drink it.

"What if he's a half-vampire too?" Cayden jokes with a grin on his face.

I choke on my drink.

"What do you mean?" I ask Cayden and wipe my mouth with the back of my hand.

"Oh, I mean," he pauses and looks at me with an innocent gaze. "He's from vampires, right? I'm actually trying to be funny," he pouts his lips.

"Oh... haha," I look at the dining table, overwhelmed and confused by the amount of food Cayden cooked. "What's with the feast? I ask.

"I ask Cayden to cook the food you love," Clarkson says.

"Yeah, I even wake earlier than my normal waking up hours," Cayden says while putting the plates in front of us.

"Why?" I frown.

"This will be my last day staying here," Clarkson says and serves me some spaghetti. "Plus more cheese," he says while grating the cheese.

"Hot chocolate," Cayden says and puts a mug beside my plate.

"Why?" I ask.

I look at them as they take care of me. I never thought I'd be taken care of like this. I'm used to living on my own.

"He's graduating now," Cayden says. "And is now assistant of your teachers."

"You have to leave now?" I ask and sit in front of him.

Tuna jumps on the chair beside me.

Now that I'm overthinking about this cat?

"I'll visit you," Clarkson says. "Weekly."

"What's with the disgusted stare at Tuna?" Cayden asks before sitting beside Clarkson.

"Uhm, nothing..." I say and start eating. "Thank you by the way," I say and smile to them. "For everything and all of this," I say while looking at the food.

Enough with thinking of him, George.

Maybe I'm hallucinating. I thought and tried to convince myself.

"I'm glad you can finally transform," Clarkson says. He's still praising me after last night.

"Well, I haven't transformed back to my human form," I say while putting my cape on.

I decided to sleep instead of stressing myself to go back to my human form. Then I woke up as George the human the next morning.

"At least you learned the first part," he says and waits for me at the door.

I look at him and smile.

"Tada," I say. I spin and show myself to him.

He smiles. "Let's go?" he asks opening the door for me.

I nod and walk outside. I look back at the house and see Mr. Tuna sitting at the window. He is looking at me while his tail is slowly waving. I gape my mouth when he winked at me. Quickly, I look away.

The cat winked.

The cat winked.

The cat fucking winked.

What the fuck!?

"I was waiting for you to go back home during your afternoon break," Clarkson says and sits beside me.

"I don't want to go back home yet," I say while drawing a cat on the ground using a pointed rock.

I'm scared that I'm right. And thrilled at the same time. I'm glad I finally found him. I didn't expect to find him this way though.

"I'm pretty sure that's Mr. Tuna," Clarkson says and rests his chin on the palm of his hand.

Surprised, I look at him. He smiles.

"Is there anything bothering you?" he asks.

I keep quiet and think deeply with my gaze fixed at the cat doodle on the ground.

"You weren't in the class a while ago. I'm not used to it. No one will yell at Sophia now," I chuckle.

I cannot say it to you now. But I cannot lie to you.

"I don't think you need me there anymore," he replies, I look at him. His gaze is watching the younger werewolves for the next class.

"You had your rank increase?" he asks.

"Yep," I say, popping the 'p' sound. "At the same time, I had a record because of him."

"Him?" he frowns.

"The cat, who else?" I nervously laugh. "He killed those chickens. They cannot write Mr. Tuna's name, right?"

"Right," he sighs. "You're hiding something," he pauses and looks at me.

My heart skips a beat out of fear.

"But I won't force you to tell me what is it if you don't want to," he gives me a soft smile and brush few strands of my messy hair my face. "I hope you'll figure out whatever is in your head.

"Thank you, Clarkson. I'll tell you everything once I fix this mess."

He only nods as a response.

"Woah," everyone claps when I finish the archery exercise way faster than before.

I look around and look for Clarkson. He stands beside Elis with the rest of the graduating trainees, observing us. He smiles while giving me a two thumbs up. I snile back and wave at him.

"I guess you don't need your rank increase now," Elis says to me. "Looks like you're getting comfortable here now, hmm?" he says while writing my records.

"Perhaps, Sir," I politely say. "But I still need those rank increases."

"Georgina increases her rank three more!" Elis says while marching. "Finally you're catching up with werewolves of your age," he whispers at me.

He never fails to point out something negative about me.

"Are you sure you can do it without us?" Clarkson says and gives me a concerned look.

"Yeah, you know I live on my own back in California," I reply and give him a reassuring smile.

We part ways. I watch his back getting further away from me. He looks back. I smile and wave at him. He smiles at me and waves back.

I head to my house.

"Surprise..." I startle when I hear a soft masculine voice. My eyes widen when I see Jared on my bed with the pillow wrapping his whole body.

"What are you doing here?" I whisper and hurriedly close the door. I walk to the bed and stare at him with wide eyes.

"Please do not sit beside me," he warns in a soft voice.

"Why?" I kneel on the bed and check if there's anyone outside from the window. "This is considered my house and you dare to demand," I whisper.

"I'm naked," he whispers to my ears. I flinch when his breath hits my skin. "That's why don't sit beside me."

"What?" I pause. "I don't care."

I sit beside him.

"I'm naked," he repeats.

"So you are Mr. Tuna?" I whisper.

He nears his face to mine. "Yes, I am."

"Don't tell anybody. I killed those chickens because Joaquin isn't visiting me yet," he continues. "And I need blood."

"You did see me naked," I say and cup my mouth in disbelief.

"I accidentally saw you naked," he corrects.

"Yeah, right, accidentally," I scoff. "You sit in front of me while I'm walking in my room naked. A lot of time!" I whisper.

"Well, you're talking to me now that I'm naked."

"You're not naked. You're wrapped in a blanket. I can't see your body" I whisper.

"Wanna see it?" he asks and gives me a naughty grin.

"No!" I yell.

I immediately cover my mouth.

"Hah, I wish I had a lie detector test like you do to check if you're lying or not," he pouts in disappointment.

Glad, you don't.

I look away.

"Why?" he asks in his deep voice. "Why are you glad that you don't have? Is it because you lied?" he holds my shoulders with both of my arms. The blanket rolls down his waist, showing his toned torso, covering the lower part of his body.

I stare at his mismatched gaze. He shows what he truly looks like. His long jet-black hair almost covers his eyes. His rosy lips contrast to his pale skin. His long fangs add an interesting accent to his mischievous grin.

Dmitri.

"I missed you," I say. My fingers rake his long black hair and rest my hands on the side of his face.

Pain takes over his playful gaze. He clenches his jaw and sighs. His hands pull my back. His hands envelop me with a warm hug. The heat of his body radiates even more as the cold wind of the night from the window brushes on my skin.

He sighs.

"As much as I want to pull you for a kiss," he softly says in my ears. "I have to control myself especially since only a blanket is covering my naked body."

I snort a laugh at how he broke the tension of the atmosphere.
