George
I wake up late in the morning for the first time.
"Wow," I say as I yawn. "I miss this," I continue while stretching my body as I lie on my bed.
"Why aren't you going to your class?" Jared asks while having a coffee. He stands at his towering height and stares at me with his mismatched eyes.
"They have a meeting. Fatima announced yesterday that we can take a rest," I reply and sit on the bed.
That is when I realize something is off.
"Why are you in your real form?" I whisper.
"I have to conserve my energy, George," he replies and sits at the corner of the bed.
"Because...?" I furrow my eyebrows.
"I told you. I haven't had enough supply of blood," he answers and fixes the semi-fit yellow shirt he wears. My gaze trails down to the neon green pajama he wears.
"Where did you get these clothes?" I frown. It's obviously not from him. He rarely wears colors.
"Oh, these?" he looks at his clothes. "I have stolen the wrong size for the top," he mutters.
"You stole something," I glare at him. "Again."
"What? You cannot ask for male clothes here, right? We'll get in trouble. They'll ask you why you're looking for male clothes," he explains. "And even female clothes, none of them is my size," he adds.
"Should I call Joaquin for your supply?" I ask. His facial features get sharper as he slowly loses weight day by day.
"I doubt he'll answer the call," he replies and finishes his coffee.
I still dialed Joaquin's number. Just in case he answers. But the phone didn't even ring.
"Do you think he's okay?" I ask and look at him.
He sighs and firmly closes his eyes. "I'm sure they can't kill him. My father can't kill him," he says and exhales.
"He's my only vampire friend," he mutters.
I watch him from a distance. I'm sure Joaquin will tease him if he hears he finally admits he is important to him. Be strong, Joaquin. We'll save you soon.
"Why are you so obsessed with the cliff village?" I ask. I finally move out of bed to wash my face. We don't have a sink in the bathroom. That's why I always clean my face and brush my teeth at the kitchen sink.
"I have to work," he replies. "Besides, there are so many gossips up there," he adds. I hear his footsteps around the room.
"Like for example?" I ask.
"Dranula has a child," I hear his voice right behind me. He puts the empty mug on the sink and rests his hand on the other side, trapping me with his arms.
"Really?" I ask and try to maintain a stable voice.
"Mm...hmm," he responds with his voice getting deeper.
"What," I hitch my breath when his arms wrap around my waist. He lightly caresses the side of my waist.
"Who?" I wipe my face and exhale on the towel. I quickly brush my teeth. My hand grips the toothbrush really hard. The toothbrush stays on one side of my mouth for too long as I try to remove my attention from his hands on my waist.
"I am not sure yet," his voice gets a bit raspy as he rests his head on my head. "I'll inform you when I confirm."
My breathing became heavy as my heart beat faster. The thin fabric of the stolen clothes he wears is not helping me in this situation. I finished cleaning my mouth. With my cold hands holding the towel, I wipe my mouth.
"I miss you so much," he says and kisses the back of my ears.
My mind cannot react. My body cannot react. I've never been in this situation before. Sure, I was with Andrew before. But I never experienced this tension with him before. It's always 'Let me steal a kiss a watch blush' kind of vibes when I'm with Andrew.
What should I do?
I take a deep breath a put the towel on the counter.
What should I do?
I panicked in my mind.
"Nothing," he replies with his raspy voice. "Leave it to me."
He rests his hands on the side of my waist and slowly makes me turn and face him. He lifts my chin and kisses me slowly. I didn't dare to try to mimic him for I have no idea how to do this and I do not want to ruin the moment. Instead, I close my eyes and melt to his warm kisses. He lifts me and makes me sit on the counter.
Is the door locked?
It's locked. I hear his thoughts reply. He grabs me by my jaw before turning his head on the other side.
He stops and looks at me. "It's locked, George. The windows are closed too. I closed them while you're washing your face."
I nod and bite my lip. It takes a few seconds for me to look at him and make eye contact. I part my leg and pull him closer. My left hand hooks the neckline of the shirt he stole and pulls him lightly.
"That's good to know then," I reply with an unusually low voice.
The side of his lips rose. His red iris glimmers. His free hand wraps around my waist. His mouth trails kisses on my neck as he inhales my scent. The hand on my jaw forcefully lift my chin.
"I miss this sweet intoxicating scent," he whispers. His breath sends shivers down my spine.
He shifts to the other side of my neck and exhales. He trails kisses up to my jaw and bit my ear as I shudder. His mouth travels down to my chin and back to my lips. I'm surprised when I felt his long fangs as he suck my lower lip.
His right-hand cups my face. I try to suppress a sound but a soft moan escapes my mouth as I breathe out. A groan escapes his lips as they vibrate to my skin. My other hand caresses his back while the other grabs his hair. With my eyes closed, I parted my mouth and breathes heavily. He moves the strands of my hair on the other side of my neck and continue to kiss my neck.
"I want you're sweet," he plants a wet kiss on my neck.
"And fresh," he kisses me again.
"Blood," he continues in his head.
Fresh blood?
"My," I say in between my breaths. "Blood?"
That made me open my eyes and push him away. My body felt as if cold water had hit my skin.
"Damn it."
I look at his conflicted face.
"Dmitri, control yourself."
He takes a few steps back while raising both of his hands as a sign of retreat.
"I'm sorry," he says with his eyes still closed.
"My blood?" I furrow my eyebrows. "Is that what's in your mind this whole time?"
"Drink my blood?" I continue.
"I'm sorry. Damn it," he says and runs his fingers through his jet-black hair.
"I think it's better if we do not see each other for at least an hour," he says while looking at my lips.
"What?" I whisper in disbelief.
"For your safety."
"Fine. I'll leave then," I say in an annoyed voice. I grab my sword and my coat.
A grunt left my mouth before walking out of the house. The sound of the slamming door startles the people outside the house.
"Sorry," I say before marching to the open space.
"I never thought my first intimate kiss would end up almost drinking my blood," I groan as I kick the stone in front of me.
"It's not even intimate for him," I pull out my sword and swing it to the. "It's predator and prey scenario for him," I grunt.
I thought of practicing today but not in this mood.
"Why did I fall for that!?" I yell and swing the sword again.
I scream and continue to vent my anger.
I'm sorry?
I scoff.
Is that a mistake?
I startle when a sword slams mine.
Elis.
He attacks me. I dodge his attacks. My eyes roll to the back of my head.
Ugh. I'm not in the mood for this.
I fight back and swing my sword to him. He counterattacks and pushes my sword underneath my chin.
"They are trying to kill you," Ellis warns.
"Oh ho ho, aren't you doing the same?" I push his sword and step back. I pointed my sword
underneath his jaw.
"Who?" I ask.
"The werewolves. They are planning to end you as soon as possible. Especially that your mother has revealed there are allies of enemies walking freely around here," he explains.
"And you are one of them," I step forward while he steps back.
"You could say that. However," he hits my wrist with the tip of the handle of his sword. I throw my sword out of pain. "I am on your side now."
"Why?" I ask and hold his hand to point his sword at his neck.
He chuckles. "I hope I could see this side of you in my class," he calmly says.
"You see..." he kicks my arms.
"At first I thought, It's a crazy idea to suddenly have a female Alpha," he says.
"Well, there's nothing wrong about that. But," he walks away and picks up my sword. I stand up. He hands me my sword.
"She grew up in the Mortals' Land. Unaware of this hidden village." he lightly hit the sword. "And a half-blood," he chuckles when I hit back.
"Why are you helping this half-blood now? I thought you said it sounds crazy?" I ask and stand firmly.
"Seeing their motivation of ending you is even crazier," he laughs bitterly.
"And it is?" I ask.
"Maintaining their power. Everyone there is hiding something. Everyone there is pretentious. Everyone there is blinded by their high position," he looks away and sighs.
"I thought," he steps forward. "I'd rather bow down in front of a sincere teenager than those who only crave power."
I remain silent.
"Remember, they're going to kill you because you can't control your powers yet. They'll kill you as soon as there's no one protecting you when they see that you're already alone," he warns.
Unable to say a word, I only stare at my sword.
"Is that you best!?" Ellis yells, pretending to scold.
Or is he really scolding me?
"Practice more!" he turns his back and walks away.
When I'm alone?
Why is everyone trying to kill me?
